Stuck in Installation Database

Hello

I'm trying to install 1.3.9h
PHP Version = 5.2.9

Can't go thru Database installation

I use blank for TITLE_DATABASE_PREFIX_CHANGE
and my user and password for TITLE_SECURITY

Tried my user for the site and for the database but receiving "Unable to connect to database"

Any Ideas?

One must first create a DB before starting the install

When you create a DB, you will create a DB user and pass & assing them to the DB
NOTE:
The DB name
DB user
DB pass

These are what you enter during the install

I created the DB, user and linked both before installation.

when the installation ask:
ENTRY_ADMIN_ID
ENTRY_ADMIN_PASSWORD

I tried the user of DB and admin for the site with same result "Unable to connect to database"

Further, if you're seeing those literal constant names instead of the text they're supposed to show, then you're missing one or more language files, and probably various other files as well, from the files you uploaded to your server.
And, that could explain why it's not working properly.

The most common cause of problems when working with websites is failed uploads / FTP transfers. You need a reliable FTP program that will tell you if errors occur and offer you the option to retry failed transfers.
