Just bumping this back up, exploring my options with CC payments, and would prefer to use Virtual Pos as currently using their hardware in store.

Cheers!

Re: Virtual POS - Suncorp Australia

Yep, looked at that option last year. Based on the pricing :yuck: it is no option. Thanks for following up on this.

Re: Virtual POS - Suncorp Australia

Thanks for that, ended up going with E-Path, sounds like a bit of a brute but will do in the mean time. Waiting for their Zen module, sounds like they compile it to specific sites?

Hi, I am at the point of choosing a payment module, wondering how you got on with E-Path?

Re: Virtual POS - Suncorp Australia

Mate,
I would seriously consider Paypal as your preferred payment provider. Our count is almost 75% PP payments and the balance Visa.
We pay a monthly fee over $50.00 plus per transaction. PP you pay there and then when the order is placed.
Customers are using PP as it eludes security and honesty
Regards
Dave

Re: Virtual POS - Suncorp Australia

Thanks Dave, really appreciate the advice. My only concern with not having CC payment is deterring buyers who are not willing to use PayPal, but if I understand correctly I could still use Zen Cart's credit-card module referred to here (but I can't see it in my 1.3.9f admin).
I will run your suggestion by the other business partner. Thanks again, Steve.

Re: Virtual POS - Suncorp Australia

Paypal has both options either use your account or no account option where you go to the CC page without logging on.
I would also apply later on for PP virtual terminal option as you will get customers who do not want to do anything online.
I dont think you will have many customers who wont do anything because that is all you offer. PP is universal and provides the general public with a feeling of security.
Our logs show PP is very popular compared to straight CC.
In your admin you will see Payment Menu You will see the various PP payment options Turn on PP IPN and just add the details. PP will help you out if you get stuck
Dont forget your SSL and ozpost module
Bobs ya uncle
Cheers
Dave

Re: Virtual POS - Suncorp Australia

Cheers, I will run with all payments via PayPal for now, so (I think) I just need to arrange a merchant facility with a bank and an SSL certificate. I assume that as I will be using PayPal for any and all payments I do not need to purchase a payment gateway solution (such as eway). So all purchasers can do so via credit card or paypal account, both via paypal in all instances, and zen cart will use the details they enter in paypal to create an account for the purchaser that they can use on my website for future transactions.
I hope I have got all of that right!
Tks, Steve
