My Coupons Not Working

I have a problem with coupon NOT restricting customers to the categories I select in the restrictions. Instead of requiring ALL purchases toward the minimum dollar amount be from the allowed categories it requires only ONE product from the allowed categories. This means that the minimum dollar amount can be met with products from DENIED categories. For example, for a $10 off coupon on $50 purchase in category ABC a customer can get the discount by buying $49 in any category other than ABC, buy just $1 in ABC, and get the discount.

A little bit of background about my store and the coupon.

1. Ever item in my site is a linked product in two categories - for example, product XYZ is in category ABC and category 123, where 123 is a subcategory of ABC. Category ABC is just below top.
2. I have about 20 categories just below top such as ABC.
3. I want to issue a coupon that gives a discount if a certain dollar amount is spent on one category - say category ABC.
4. I make top DENY as the top restriction and then allow the categories I want. I then allow the categories I want. I have even tried to deny every category I don't want and just leave the one(s) I want. No change.

Just to reiterate, I want a coupon that does something like this: $10 off a $50 purchase in category ABC.

How can I get the coupon to require all purchases counting toward the minimum dollar amount to be from ONLY the allowed category(ies)? Could the linked products be causing the problem?

Do the Products all use the Category you want to "allow" for the Discount Coupon as their master_categories_id?

I have the same problem.

Coupon Minimum Order: 150.00

Free Shipping: Not checked.

I did a test lets say their total order 299.95. It only gives a $20.00off the total order not the percentage discount.

What version Zen Cart?

Clean install or an Upgrade?

Yes its a clean install.

Yes it worked before.

Coupon Amount is: 20.0000%

No restrictions.

So far I cannot reproduce this error ...

I don't believe any of these will help, but since we are on issues with v1.3.8, you may want to apply the Known Bug Fixes:

The one that comes in the new account email is working fine on 20% ...

Do you have another coupon code that is not working right?

When you check out what amount of discount did it give you?

When you did a checkout how much of the amount did the coupon gave you?

When I had $148 in the cart it told me I need $150 minimum ...

When I put $165.50 in the cart it gave: -$33.10 or 20% off the order ... so it appears to be working correctly ...

Is it possible not to use the GV it will automatically adds $20.00 to their account and I don't want that.

During the check out process the are to coupons to enter their codes on is Discount Coupons and the other is Gift Certificate. I don't want to appy a Gift Certificate to their new account. Is it possible to disable the Gift Certificate module?

When a customer register they get a welcome email with two different codes:

Discount Coupon: 20% off
and
Gift Certificate: $20.00

So they get a 20% off plus and a $20.00 off of the total order. I just want the Discount coupon. I don't want the gift certificate included.

That GV code is setup in the Configuration ... GV Coupons ... set the amount to a blank ...

I've just read through this thread and I am still having the same issues the others are.

I can get my coupon to to be accepted, but it will not show in the final totals on the checkout_payment or on checkout_confirmation.

My Order Total variables all have a unique sort order value.

It was working fine just a day or two ago. We've also just recently had Numinex come in and install Magic SEO for us. However, it still worked after that.

This is troubling. Please assist.

And if you turn off all SEO/rewrites does it work normally?
