Re: Who wants a Zen Cart ADMIN app for mobile devices?

As soon as my contract is up in a few months or sooner, I am getting an iPhone.

Count me in as a Beta Tester!

Cheers!

Great idea, although blackberry users nowadays already receive all emails and orders per mail.

Mobile Reports could be a nice addition to mobile phone users

Re: Who wants a Zen Cart ADMIN app for mobile devices?

I am working on an iPhone app at the moment. Any input as to what features would be desired would be nice. Somebody suggested to me a little while back that it would be nice to add a product, using the camera, directly on the iPhone. Any other suggestions?

Using the camera as a bar code scanner. (there is an app for that) I don't think there is a place for upc info input already (maybe there is and I don't know it)

Integration of the camera as a bar code (there is an app for that!)scanner. Not sure if there is a proper place for upc info input already (maybe there is and I don't know it) . That should keep you busy for a little while...

Re: Who wants a Zen Cart ADMIN app for mobile devices?

Oji-san,
Just adding my ignorant voice of a new zenner, that would definitely put Zen Cart right at the top of most available carts.
It would be a really smart move since mobile devices will eventually dominate access to the internet in the coming years.
In a country like Japan and according to the latest estimated, over 70% of all purchases made online are made through mobile devices in particular mobile phones.
Google has just commenced providing Adword campaigns specifically aimed at mobile devices, I have tried but was rejected due to the fact that Zen Cart is not very friendly with mobile devices.
Some people in other threads have suggested that a simple CSS should do the trick, which does help a little to improve the situation, but some friends, who tried using their mobile phones to shop online from my website, found the experience terribly frustrating. They told me that would never bother to access my website using their mobile phones.

think it depends what type of phone...
My phone.. a HTC windows phone is 100% awful!!! has IE and Opera and viewing my ZC sites on it is as fun as being kicked in the head! But my friends iPhone access my site OK.. not great, but he can zoom right in and was able to navigate about...

Overall tho, a ZC mobile thing must be part of the future..

Re: Who wants a Zen Cart ADMIN app for mobile devices?

I would love to have a mobile version of my site to shop via iphone. Personally, I shop Amazon via my iphone and have tried to shop my own site and yes...it's frustrating. I have had a few customers ask about it so I think it's worth it

Wilt,

I don't know if you look at this thread anymore .... but if you could instruct us how to securely (and within PCI compliance) interact with our websites' database I would suspect that quite a few interesting programs could popup that would allow the community to do so awesome things with our websites.
