Changing the default will make a difference for your usability.

Try changing it from product_ to products_ by clicking on the pencil on the right side of the row.

I double checked it and you just need to add an s to product_shipping_code in the db. In the error it says:

1054 Unknown column 'v_products_shipping_code' in 'field list'
in:
[ SELECT v_products_shipping_code FROM zc_products WHERE products_id = '11048';]

See, it's looking for v_products_shipping_code but in your screenshot it's product_shipping_code. Typos are the #1 reason for bugs and it's so easy to overlook.

1.) Time to trash my POS keyboard.

Changed product to products

Got this after reloading the db:

1054 Unknown column 'v_products_shipping_code' in 'field list'
in:
[ SELECT v_products_shipping_code FROM zc_products WHERE products_id = '11048';]

Have you inserted the row into some of the code somewhere, like the checkout page? If so, can you post the code? This error message is related to the code calling for a row in a table that it can't find, the "field list" being the field column in the table, in this case the zc_products table. If you did insert some code, you just need to call it products_shipping_code and not v_products_shipping_code. v_ is only used in EP and nowhere else.

Believe me when I say I wouldn't have clue about how to change a code on my own. I get into enough trouble just doing what you folks consider routine and mundane.

Would you suggest recommend uploading fresh copy of easypopulate.php?

OK, well if you haven't inserted the code anywhere can you please post a zip of your EP? Also, may I ask, if you haven't inserted this new field anywhere, what is your point of adding it? Are you planning on adding it somewhere in the code? If not then there really is no point in adding it. I am only asking because from your last response I am gathering that you are pretty new to computer languages and are still in the earlier phase of figuring it all out. If that's the case, hang in there, the more you use it the easier it becomes, I didn't know anything AT ALL about computer languages but now I am pretty comfortable with php, html, css, sql, etc.(of course I have been using zc for four years...:shocking::laugh:)

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

The only thing I've done is:
installed Advanced Shipper
added v_products_shipping_code to my Tab delimited txt file,
and attempted to add products_shipping_code to zc_products in the DB.

The products_shipping _code is supposed to be used by Advanced Shipper to identify the proper shipping method for products in the shopping cart at checkout.

New?!? Oh my...that is an understatment.:D

Not sure which file you're asking for.

Not sure which file you're asking for.

admin>easypopulate.php

Also, what happens if you revert the db back to pre-modification? (you did make a backup of the db before making any changes, didn't you? If not, this is zen cart RULE 1: ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS make a backup of ANYTHING that you are modifying. Did I remember to say ALWAYS!!!!:laugh::laugh:. We have ALL been burned by not following Rule 1!:D) if you didn't keep a backup, it's no big deal really, just delete that row by clicking the x in phpmyadmin. Now are we good? I need to rule out things that can go wrong.

I am off for the night now but will check back in the morning.

Did you restore the db? What happened? Is the error gone?

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

No I did not restore the DB, but I was going too.

Been trading emails with Conor from Ceon (Adv.Shipper developer) and he made a couple changes in the DB and corrected a line or two of code in his software.

The checkout process no longer pukes out an error code!!

Playing with a few things right now to eliminate 10 shipping options where there should be only 1 shipping method.

FWIW,
I've learned a great deal in the last couple of days from this thread and the replies that have been posted. I'm continually amazed at the level of user support here!

Thank you all SO MUCH!!!

This appears to be a copy of the file I posted at the beginning of this thread. Do you have all of the mods installed that I have installed like msrp, map, auction site attributes?

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

I'm pretty sure tht it's a fresh version directly from EP1.2.5.4.

No I don't have any of those added.

Looks like I'm down to getting the Adv.Shipper Configuration done properly.

No I don't have any of those added.

I double checked with the version in the downloads, I am the one that uploaded it and thought for a minute there that I uploaded my personalized version. But the downloads copy is correct so you have edited the file I put in the first post of this thread that has all sorts of extra fields.

You have a few errors in your added field. A typo, with the end on code in one place and a couple of omissions of necessary code elsewhere.

I recommend starting with the copy from the downloads and entering your extra field, using the copy from this thread as reference.
