Scheduled Events Add-On

Post #7 points out how to find working sites using this mod. Actually every mod shown on the link uses it except numbers 7 & 8.

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

I saw post #7, when I click on your signature it opens "http://jeandret.com/demo/" and there is nothing there about toads or vinegar? So, I clicked on a few of the links and they either had no 'scheduled event's' link or they did and there was nothing listed, that's why I posted originally. I just went back and click on all of the links, still many that have no link or no data, but I did see some that did have data and I see now how it's working.

You may want to update that page.

Thanks,
Leslie

You may want to update that page. The site is working just fine.
"Vinegar" has decided to "do their own work" and I've taken them off the list. Toads refers to horned lizards.
I can't force the customer to keep their information up to date. Yet, even with no information on the page, it's telling you the mod is working.

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

pukram:

hmmm... got it solved - despite the new index the field "event_comments" was written "event_comment" somehow (figured out when entering data in the DB directly, it had the right spelling |event_comments" but the comment itself would not appear on the scheduled event page of the web site...

well, sorted out by now! thanks for the mod :)

TY, that did the thrink for me.

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

Version 1.6.1A has been uploaded to the PlugIns section and should be available soon.

There is the "minor" change to eventz/index.php line 176 changing> $opts['fdd']['event_comment'] = array(to> $opts['fdd']['event_comments'] = array(If you have had a problem with the mod, making that change should get you going.

Also, I made some changes to the events_readme.txt and events_installation_users_guide.txt to clarify the directions.

This mod has been tested in versions 1.3.9a thru 1.5.1 and (after tonight's announcement) will soon be tested with 1.5.2. The result will be posted in this thread.

Stay scheduled, my friends.:D

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

Four questions.

  1. Comments are not showing on the events public page. How can I show comment results?
  2. How can I change the date from 2015-05-12 >> to 12/05/2015 or better still Thursday 12th May 2015
  3. How can I enter re occurring dates?
  4. How can enter (instead of a dates) '1st and 3rd Every Sunday'

Can you please advise where and how this can be implemented.

Using zencart 1.53

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

Ok I fixed the #1.

Change

if ($eventInfo['event_comments'] != '') echo "<strong>Comments:  </strong>" . $eventInfo["Comments"] .   "<br />";

With

if ($eventInfo['event_comments'] != '') echo "<strong>Comments:  </strong>" . $eventInfo["event_comments"] .   "<br />";

#2 shows as desired so please ignore question however entry point in the date can be improved.

#3 and #4 still would like to know how?

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

New Version 1.7 should be available in the downloads soon. Still not tied to the admin but needed to fix some more glitches in the contents.

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

Hi,

Thank you for the great great mod. My problem is the non english characters. In "/eventz/index.php" ä and ö characters show correct, but schedule events text fields (/index.php?main_page=events) it show like äää.

May someone help me solve this?

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

The outputs come from the database. If your language settings and the database settings do not match, you will see the "strange" characters.
First, verify that the language files and the database are the same (UTF8 for example), then you may need to reset the database to finalize the fix.

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

Hi,

Thank You Dbltoe! I converted db now, but, it didn't solve this problem. I use 1.5.5 new install. Maybe I have missed some lang file from home directory? This will only displayed on one page (index.php?main_page=events) other pages are ok. And it only applies to fields in which the text has been entered through that Evenz form.

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

I think I need to raise my hands up and surrender. My brain was flying over board,

Database: utf8_general_ci (converted)
Configure.php: utf8 (both of)
language files all: fi_FI.utf8
PME.lang.FI files is copied from swedish version, because there is also "ä" and "ö" characters used.

I tested the Swedish PME.lang. file regulation, which Included in this Scheduled Events module. Maybe the problem is this PME.lang.file, but I dont know how I should fix it?

How can I uninstall this module?

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

Your problem may be with the Finnish language file unless you found a more recent version than that offered in the Plugins section.
You can reverse the installation by reversing the Basic/Beginner Installation Instructions in the events_installation_users_guide.txt

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

The scheduled events mod does not control the "arrows" but, if you post a url like yoursiteDOTcom, I can look at a fix. Probably the template.

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

Can't duplicate the problem. What steps can I take to see what you are seeing? Looks fine in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

Re: Scheduled Events Add-On

Hi there

The error i get is what is shown in the picture..... above (somewhere).

I used firefox as my Primary browser.

The error is still there in Windows Explorer, Google Chrome and opera.

Not sure why this would happen but i think it may be something to do with the template.

what do you think ?

thank you
