Re: Moving my site to another folder- help!

I'm pretty sure I place the file in the root directory...i'll try something else.

as for the images, I lost them after making the changes to the php files...looks like I'm going to have to upload images all over again :( could of been worse though.

thanks!

Re: Moving my site to another folder- help!

tony_sar:

as for images . make sure you have correct permission set for images folder , if is not writable , first you get the warning on admin page that images folder is not writable and if you ignore that , your images will not show up since they are not in images folder.

aaahh, this is becoming a nightmare. My permissions on my images folder is set to writable, I upload them when I enter my product info and it's stating my image was successfully uploaded, yet my image is still not showing up on my site> Any ideas how I can fix this or am I going to have to delete the products and retype them all again? :frusty:

Re: Moving my site to another folder- help!

So some products were showing images and others were not? That is important info for debugging. What was different between the groups?

Re: Moving my site to another folder- help!

hi,
the only difference is that all the one's that were not showing the images, were products that i've added/changed in the past week after I moved my zencart files to my root directory and changed the php files.
Everything was actually ok when I moved the files to my root...the issue didn't actually occur until I made the changes to the configure.php files.

Re: Moving my site to another folder- help!

So images already in your products show, but images you add since moving and changing configure.php files don't.

That suggests that you incorrectly changed a define in /admin/includes/configure.php, while the change is correct in /includes/configure.php.

What folder are the new images actually in?

Re: Moving my site to another folder- help!

mmm...I'm not sure. I copied files to my root...so I had two image folders, right? I continued to add products with images for about a week before I had the time to change my configure php files....so my guess is that they are in my original (unmoved) files. Does that sound right to you?

when I click onto my Admin page, i get this:

http://thrift4kids.com/**hp_zencart/**admin/login.php?zenAdminID=j16r2h86atses2ao268asqua04

this is where I have been working from...

Re: Moving my site to another folder- help!

Most likely - check and see.
The catalog code is looking in the right place for the images, but the images are somewhere else. Moving the images to the new site /images/ folder should take care of it.

Compare DIR_WS_IMAGES between the two configure.php files.

Re: Moving my site to another folder- help!

Those files look the same to me...look and see:

admin/includes/configure:
define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');
define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/');
define('DIR_WS_CATALOG_IMAGES', HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . 'images/');

includes/configure:
define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');
define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/');

As for moving the images folder, can I just copy or upload old file to the 'new' images folder? would that be the best way to go about it?

thanks!

define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/admin/');
define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/');
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN', '/admin/');

Re: Moving my site to another folder- help!

I can't help but think it has to do where I have been signing in, in my Admin screen.

I currently have been signing in on:

http://**thrift4kids.com/**hp_zencart/admin/login.php?zenAdminID=j16r2h86atses2ao268asqua04

But I can also sign into: (my new Admin area after changes were made)

http://thrift4kids.com/admin/login.php to access the same store. However, when I input a test product under this Admin, it does not show up on my site.

does this sound familiar to anyone?
