"It seems I needed to add products using my new Admin sign in page."

I didn't even consider the possibility that you weren't using the new admin... even if they are accessing the same database, of course the old admin would put files in the wrong (old) location.

Re: Moving my site to another folder- help!

Hi Again

I am working on putting the index-php.txt file in my old site, but I conflicted on how to do it because I have different answers on two different posts.

One says:

. rename index.php in your zen folder to index.txt, and put a BLANK index.html file in that folder (for security).

The other says:

**Two ways, the first is BEST and most efficient!

  1. Have your DNS provider Forward all requests from domain 1 to domain 2
  2. A temporary solution would be to create an index.html or default.html and place it in your document root with something like this

Code:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>nonelectronics.com/</title> <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://www.nonelectronics.com/catalog"></HEAD> <BODY> If our new site does not load in 5 seconds <a href="http://www.nonelectronics.com/catalog"> Please Click Here </a>! </BODY> </HTML> adapt it as you need to work for you. It's the REFRESH tag that does all the work for you and most 21st Century browsers will auto re-direct. Search engines may just forget you though.

The DNS change is still your best bet.**

Does it matter which method I use?

I'm assuming I got this notice from https://www.websitegrader.com because I have not redirected my old site yet by doing this:

Permanent Redirect Not Found**Search engines may think https://www.thrift4kids.com and thrift4kids.com are two different sites. You should set up a permanent redirect (technically called a "301 redirect") between these sites. Once you do that, you will get full search engine credit for your work on these sites.

Also, the only index folder I found was:

thrift4kids.com/hp_zencart/includes/modules/pages - dir(s)
. .

Is this correct folder?

thanks!

Re: Moving my site to another folder- help!

The index file for 301 redirect from your old site folder goes in /hp_zencart/ (/public_html/hp_zencart/index.php). As I mentioned above, see Forwarding from old shop to new?, especially post 22. I have found this to be completely effective.

The redirect between www and non-www versions of the domain name is another matter, on which I can't give more advice than your post shows. That is what the "temporary solution" is about, not the /hp_zencart/ folder.
