Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

Hi,

vooboo13:

Would this module fix this issue? Would it create a static URL for categories?

No, that's not your problem. The problem is the menu software you are using is not building a breadcrumb at all, probably because it's not setting the full "category path".

I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to create a module which does what you want, looking up the list of parent categories rather than assuming that any category in the dropdown is a direct child of the "top" of the site.

However this isn't the thread for that.. please either post on thread for the menu module concerned or you may want to get a developer code things to work the way you want.

All the best...

Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

I have just uploaded all the files on my website ( using an ftp program) and checked if this module was enabled (and it is); but I haven't understand how to change the Url.
My website is www.alepia.ch and it is a multilanguage website, could that be the problem?
Moreover now I can't modify any of my products and at the end it shows that:

1146 Table 'alepiach_zc1.TABLE_PRODUCT_EXTRA_DESCRIPTION_EXTRA' doesn't exist
in:
[update TABLE_PRODUCT_EXTRA_DESCRIPTION_EXTRA set products_code = null, file_1 = null, file_2 = null, file_3 = null, file_4 = null, file_1_title = null, file_2_title = null, file_3_title = null, file_4_title = null where products_id = '65']
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Thanks in advance for your answer!

Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

Hi,

alepia:

.alepiach_zc1.TABLE_PRODUCT_EXTRA_DESCRIPTION_EXTRA' doesn't exist

That table has nothing to do with the URI Mapping module.

I think you've probably uploaded some other module as well or something and it is breaking your site.

Regardless, the only help I can be is to say your problem has nothing whatsoever to do with the URI Mapping module.. you should post on/start another thread! (Try searching for the table name above, you might find someone else with a similar problem).

All the best...

Hi,

How are you?

alepia:

but how can I do to change the url for every category and product?

Click "Edit" and "Update" on each category/product as desired.

There's no "all categories and products at once" functionality at this time.

Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

Hi,

alepia:

I'm sorry if I'm troubling you...

You're not troubling me, youve just been far too basic in your descriptions of what is going wrong for you and what you are expecting to see.. I can't read minds! :)

alepia:

basically I'm just trying to edit and then update all my products, categories and subcategories. but the url doesn't change :(

So the URI Mappings are being saved in the category and product pages but on the site they aren't being used instead of the "old" dynamic Zen Cart URIs? (index.php?main_page...)

If so, then you've forgotten to upload the file

includes/functions/html_output.php from the modified_core_files folder.

Make sure you do a diff comparison before uploading that file!

Hope that helps..

All the best..

Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

Hi Conor,

Really appreciate you sharing this module and all of the time that I can see you putting into supporting it here.

With you clear instructions and support posts on this thread I managed to upload Ceon URI and get everything working to my total surprise in no time at all. It is on a fresh install of latest zencart.

However since installing Ceon URI, I have a small issue with accessing a new wordpress installation that is in its own directory called 'clubnews' that is off the main root.

Basically I cannot login to the administration page or any of the blog pages as I am getting 404 Page Error / Page not found messages and I can't for the life of me fathom out why.

I have this line in my .htaccess file:-

Don't rewrite wordpress directory

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/clubnews.* [NC]

But any attempt to browse a wordpress page gets me to the zencart 'page not found' page.

I saw in one of the numerous posts on this thread a mention by Diva Vocals that you had helped with a similar problem so I was hoping either you or Diva could post the solution or a tip to put me in the right direction to overcome this issue.

Many thanks in advance. (and keep up your good work!)

Many thanks in advance. (and keep up your good work!)Though I was experiencing a conflict between the WOZ mod and this mod, my problem was VERY different than what you are reporting. I was not getting a 404 error with the blog pages..

However that said if you are using the latest version of WOZ, the 404 error and not being able to access the blog administration page are problems being reported by quite a few folks using the latest version of this mod.. In short I am fairly certain that this is NOT an issue caused by the "Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)" module. Rather it's a problem with the very problematic WOZ module. Please post your issue on that thread so that we don't hijack Conor's support thread...

That line should be all you need. That leads me to believe that you might have it in the wrong place.

Please send me some FTP details via this link and I'll take a look.

Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

Conor & Diva Vocals,

Thank you both for your swift replies. I didn't mean to hi Jack this thread  so please accept my apolagies.

Not using WOZ (although I was going to) the autoinstaller in my cpanel seemed to generate some wierd .htaccess files throughout the wp directory so I have edited them and now all is working fine.

Thanks again for such a great module Conor, I am so pleased to finally get a URI/SEO mod to actually work on zencart..

Eagerly awaiting the URI Manager now......

[temporary thread hijack]
IMO if you have your WP blog styled and it is NOT embedded into Zen (which is my preferred way of using a blg with Zen Cart), you might want to have a looksee at the WOZ sidebox only solution I posted in the WOZ support thread. It'll add WP sideboxes to your Zen Cart store..

Re: Ceon URI Mapping (SEO)

Hi,

It looks like you've linked products from a subcategory into a main category listing?

All linked products will always have the cPath appended.

All the best...

I got another big issue from this interesting addons....
actually when I edit, then update a product ( i do category, subcategory and all the products inside) I find this :

The requested URL /shop/oli was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

my shop is https://www.alepia.ch/shop
What's the problem?
