I have a question,,, can you have more than 1 contests like for an example:

I am planning on doing 2nd Prize is a gift cert/coupon and the 1st prize will be an item. Will this plugin do that?

hi i just installed the mod and i have no errors went in and changed the start and end date of the contest and the sidebox still shows contest ended check back soon can someone please help[ me

Google is your friend search on "enter our contest zen-cart" and you will find some live contests running.

Just a quick reply to say i installed this plugin and it's great, I tend to stay away from plugins that involve "core file overwrites) normally get someone else to do them, This one is just a simple upload and it's all there,

This is NOT a flame. It is a heads up regarding a problem on one of my sites: www.american-savage.com

Server OS Linux 2.6.32 on Apache

Three or four months ago I installed the contest and included an image and a product to be given away as a prize. It was tested and it worked great. It is a good add-on for sure.

The store owner decided not to run the contest; however, so I turned off the prize product and the contest. Neither were visible to any customers.

A couple of weeks ago, PayPal sent me a purchase notification, so I went to the admin area and sure enough, someone from Chile (victor gonzalez) had purchased the prize using "Freecharger" for the payment. I went to the Payment Options, and Freecharger was in fact turned on. I went to PayPal, and everything was there except for the shipping... Mr. Gonzalez provided me no shipping information.

How was it possible for anyone to even find the item, much less purchase it? Is there perhaps a flaw in the code allowing someone to "find" the prize and make a purchase? Or, what other possibility is there.

I have turned off Freecharger, and deleted the prize.

Thanks for the heads up.
I have looked and did some testing and can not at this time see how this could be done from the contest mod.
The mod only displays the product information based on id# and has no add to cart links.
Uses same error checking as zc if product # not found/disabled.

Contest mod code is not capable of passing a product to the cart.

Not knowing how paypal could accept a transaction like his to begin with. I am at a loss.

Thanks for your courteus reply. I do know that some folks have tried to attack the site... the owner does a TV reality show that intimidates some folks... maybe that could be the root of the issue. Anyway, not to worry. I still like your great add-on!

The module works fine but for some reason I don't see the define_contestwinner page when I go to Define Page Editor in Zencart, I would like to enter the winner names but for some reason I can not edit this file.

Any help would be great.

In the drop down tools->define pages editor you should see define_contestwinner.php

I agree with you that I should see it but I don't, I have ZC 1.50. When I go to the directory you mentioned I see the file is there, in addition I see define_contest.php, define_contestend and few more files but when I go to Define Page Editor in zencart admin I only see the page define_contest.php, I am not seeing define_contestwinner.php.

I was able to edit the page manually and upload it to the directory you mentioned and I see the page live on the website when I click on List of Winners.

not sure what to do.

Having bigtime issues. I am running ZC151.

I have downloaded and installed, rechecked proper naming, no errors, all appeared to be good.

When I login to my site, I have no entries for a contest system.
In admin...I only have modules contest admin...it is enabled and all I can do is configure it...I have nothing listed as it mentions in the readme_install

Any help would be appreciated...Is this an issue with it wont work on v151???

If they put wrong answer I want it to tell them to please try again that was incorrect or something like that.

Contest was setup to have a question or no question.

You should set the "Display a qualifying question to enter contest" to false in your admin.
This way there is no wrong answer.

I'm not sure what you mean by skip. I want to show question in order for person to be able to enter. Although right now whatever answer they put, no matter if they answer wrong they get put in contest. Instead of putting them in contest I want it to tell them please try again your answer was incorrect.
