snap-affiliates?

Svault:

I've installed this program. Out of the box, it seems to be working as promised. Need to have some knowledge of html & php to get this working properly.

Some pointers:

  • need to update terms/policy page for referral
  • need to add language files
  • once you upload, look for the referral page at: http://yourwebsite.com/referrer_signup
  • using EZ pages, create a link to that page.

Good luck everyone!! Thanks to the author for the program. I've been looking for a free affiliate program for a very long time!!

Did you fully integrate this mod into your website? Your last post on this topic was some time ago and the thread seems dead now.

:shocking: The price from https://www.jrox.com/jam/payments.php?action=order is $250.00 unless I'm not looking at the same product.

I have gotten affiliate snap to work on my site (1.3.9d... still tweaking the appearance and emails though.

1- After you copy all the files over (after checking them against your existing files-->there were more files than were listed in the install instructions) and run the SQL I created a link to the main page using "index.php?main_page=referrer_main"

2- The files includes/languages/english/referrer_main.php
includes/languages/english/referrer_main.php
includes/languages/english/referrer_main.php needed to be in my overides folder to get rid of the NAVBAR_TITLE issue.

3- Banners can be inserted by editing the includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_referrer_tools_default.php file lines 118 to 127. You can change the dimensions of the images here as well to reflect your banner sizes.

3.1- Copy your banner images into the includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/images/referrers/ folder. Name them according to the file above e.g. ref.160.600.jpg for a 160x600 image, ref.468.60.jpg for the 468x60 image, etc. and comment out the ones you are not using.

4- I was having issues with the email to notify the admin about a new sign-up not working. If you have ADMIN|EMAIL OPTIONS|EMAIL FRIENDLY ERRORS set to TRUE then you might get the same error. You can edit the includes/modules/pages/referrer_signup/header.php file line 56 from admin_level = 1 to admin_level = 0 or you can do what I did and create a second admin user called Affiliate Manager with my [email protected] email address and left it at Admin_Level = 1

5- I've been changing all references to referrer to affiliate

I'm trying to get the includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_referrer_tools_default.php to correctly form the emails sent to the affiliates upon approval. The email body currently reads

"Your MYDOMAIN affiliate account has been approved!

$EMAIL_MESSAGE_HTML

Any help on how to fix the emails would be appreciated.

Should have proof read...

Re: snap-affiliates?

change the cookie time in includes/application_top.php line 167

setcookie("referrer_key", $_GET['referrer'], time() + 606024*365, "/");

365 for 1 year
90 for 90 days
60 for 60 days
30 for... you get the picture

Re: snap-affiliates?

Glad to have helped... please let me know if you have any luck with the 'approved|banned|paid' emails that get sent out.

I've emailed the author but haven't gotten a response yet. Hope to hear something soon.

Re: snap-affiliates?

managed to install it, but when i go to sign up it takes me to the normal account signup/login page!

If you're not on SEO, type index.php?main_page=referrer_signup

any help sorting out the login page would be good.

That is correct, it uses the same login form and integrates into zen cart. They will show up as a customer and under the affiliate section in the admin panel.

Once someone signs up they are instructed to submit their website address for you to look over. You will have the ability to approve or not approve them as an affiliate for your site.

Re: snap-affiliates?

I'm trying to get this working on a 139d cart also.

When I'm logged in and go to submit a url for approval I'm getting this error

1054 Unknown column 'REFERRER_DEFAULT_COMMISSION' in 'field list'
in:
[insert into zen_referrers (referrer_customers_id, referrer_key, referrer_homepage, referrer_approved, referrer_banned, referrer_commission) values(2,"REFERRER_KEY_PREFIX21278635837","http://mytestsite.com", 0, 0, REFERRER_DEFAULT_COMMISSION)]

not going very well.

Re: snap-affiliates?

Yes I did run the sql file.

I just reinstalled the cart to start fresh again.

Did you merge the files or upload the mod as it is? I tried both ways. Maybe I made a mistake when merging.

You mentioned this

2- The files includes/languages/english/referrer_main.php
includes/languages/english/referrer_main.php
includes/languages/english/referrer_main.php needed to be in my overides folder to get rid of the NAVBAR_TITLE issue.

I don't find this file includes/languages/english/referrer_main.php in the includes folder

I'm using this mod

http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&products_id=1285

Am I using the same mod/version as everyone else?

Re: snap-affiliates?

I am merging the files again to try and get it right.

When it comes to this file

includes/classes/order.php there is this bit - $zco_notifier. I notice that the 139d file is not using this at all and has replaced $zco_notifier with $this instead. Should the referrer code sections that I merge which use $zco_notifier be replaced with $this

 it shouldn't have been three of the same file... that's another copy and paste I forgot to change.

The files that need to be in your override folder (includes/languages/english/YOURTEMPLATE/) to get rid of the NAVBAR_TITLE issue were:

includes/languages/english/referrer_main.php
includes/languages/english/referrer_tools.php
includes/languages/english/referrer_signup.php

In the Snap Affilaite release I used (1.02) they were in the includes/languages/english folder.

Re: snap-affiliates?

Thanks

I just went and found version 1.0..2

I found version 1.0.1 last night and have not had any luck getting email notifications sent out. Maybe with 1.0.2 it will start happening.

Thanks much for the very helpful info you have posted!

Re: snap-affiliates?

I got the snap affiliates 1.0.2 version installed on zen cart 139d.

When I sign up as a new customer a copy of the customers welcome message is sent to admin.

After creating the new account I submit my url to the referral program. The admin email notification sent says

Mail failure - no recipient addresses

A message that you sent contained no recipient addresses, and therefore no delivery could be attempted.

I can see the message that someone has signed up to the referral program with the link to review their application.

My email transport method is set to php. I've never seen this mail failure message happen before. How can I correct this?

Also when an affiliate has made some sales and is due to be payed, there is the pay button. When clicking the pay button it changes the info to show the affiliate has been payed.

Is the admin supposed to actually pay the affiliate manually? I was wondering how that pay button was going to work and if it would initiate an automatic payment of some sort, like through paypal (which it didn't)

Re: snap-affiliates?

when admin clicks the pay button an email is sent to affiliate notifying them their commission has been payed. It's good that an email notification is being sent but the message says

Your total earnings this period were:$0.00

Although their actual affiliate earnings are reflected in their account info.

Re: snap-affiliates?

I had the same issue with the email error.

Try editing the includes/modules/pages/referrer_signup/header.php file line 56 from 'admin_level = 1' to 'admin_level = 0' or you can do what I did and create a second admin user called Affiliate Manager with a new email address (I used [email protected]) and left the code as is at 'Admin_Level = 1 '

The pay button is for a manual pay system, i.e you send them a check or PayPal, etc. and then click the button to change the status.

For me... when an email is sent to the affiliate all it says is

Your Solstice commission payment has been made.
