snap-affiliates?

Has anyone been able to make Snap Affiliates play nice with the SSU (Simple SEO Urls) module? The problem i'm having is with the referral links and the fact that they need to be re-structured to work through SSU's mod-rewrite of URLs.

Re: snap-affiliates?

Yeah, you would need to change the URL for using SEO
instead of ABC.com/&referrer=CNWR_11280387020
The correct one would be ABC.com?referrer=CNWR_11280387020

Re: snap-affiliates?

I am experiencing the same problem as buildingblocks:
Once I input an address to submit I get this page....

1054 Unknown column 'REFERRER_DEFAULT_COMMISSION' in 'field list'
in:
[insert into referrers (referrer_customers_id, referrer_key, referrer_homepage, referrer_approved, referrer_banned, referrer_commission) values(24,"REFERRER_KEY_PREFIX241280770555","www.testaffiliates.com", 0, 0, REFERRER_DEFAULT_COMMISSION)]

So, where can I go from here. I am using 1.3.8a and have used the sql file accordingly by copy/paste/send and have installed everything properly to my knowledge.

I am stuck at this point. I'm not seeing where buildingblocks fixed this.

Thank you.

Re: snap-affiliates?

To expand upon the above in my last post. I would like some clarification on the "Edit the includes/snapconfigure.php file to reflect your site preferences."

Maybe that's it.

Thanks again

Re: snap-affiliates?

Fix to the above...
OK - So it seems to be version 1.0.2 that you want found on the creators website - I had 1.0. The file that I had to swap out was \includes\modules\pages\referrer_signup\header.php

That seemed to get rid of that fault when signing up.

Re: snap-affiliates?

This mod works great!

I am trying to add customer name to the referrer page in admin when an order is displayed for that referrer's commission. I have the layout in the table correctly, but need better code to actually display the customer's name in the currently blank field. Here is my current code:

This is what I added to the below, what I am missing here?
printf("<tr>\n");
printf("<td class='%s'>\n", $toggle ? "historyA" : "historyB" );
printf("%s\n", $order['customer_name']);

foreach( $referrers[$selected]['orders'] as $order ) {
$total = floatval( $order['order_total'] ) - floatval( $order['value'] );
$commission = floatval( $order['commission_rate'] );

if( $total < 0 ) {
$total = 0;
}
printf("<tr>\n");
printf("<td class='%s'>\n", $toggle ? "historyA" : "historyB" );
printf("%s\n", $order['customer_name']);

printf("</td>\n");
printf("<td class='%s'>\n", $toggle ? "historyA" : "historyB" );
printf("%s\n", $order['date_purchased']);
printf("</td>\n");

Thanks

Re: snap-affiliates?

thelawman:

I had the same issue with the email error.

Try editing the includes/modules/pages/referrer_signup/header.php file line 56 from 'admin_level = 1' to 'admin_level = 0' or you can do what I did and create a second admin user called Affiliate Manager with a new email address (I used [email protected]) and left the code as is at 'Admin_Level = 1 '

The pay button is for a manual pay system, i.e you send them a check or PayPal, etc. and then click the button to change the status.

For me... when an email is sent to the affiliate all it says is

I'm running into the same problem here...

I edited the functions_email.php file to echo the filename being used for the template...

The logic is obviously correct but here's the weird thing:
C:/Program Files/Abyss Web Server/htdocs/zencart/email/email_template_referrer_banned.html

**C:/Program Files/Abyss Web Server/htdocs/zencart/email/email_template_default.html

**It's outputting BOTH the default AND the name of the file that I want to use. Obviously, something is wrong here...

Re: snap-affiliates?

And after some time looking into this... I figured it out.

Evidently, if you are using Plain Text.. You'll get this looking the right way... however, if you're HTML... You're screwed.

So here are the edits you'll need to make, some might be redundant but feel free to let me know (so that I can change mine as well)

You'll need to make these changes to admin/referrers.php

  1. Look for ```php
    function send_notification_email($referrer, $subject, $text) {
2. Change this to ```php
function send_notification_email($referrer, $subject, $text, $block, $module_used) {
  1. Look for ```php
    zen_mail($customer['customers_firstname'] . " " . $customer['customers_lastname'],
4. Now, this one is tricky. In this code block you need to make some changes here... after $admin['admin_email'] add and a comma (,) and then this ```php
           $block,           $module_used
  1. Now when you're ready... find```php
    "Your " . TITLE . " referrer account has been approved!",
    $main_body
6. Then after $main_body add a comma, and then add: ```php
               $content_map,
               "referrer_approved"
  1. Now find ```php
    "Your " . TITLE . " referrer account has been suspended.",
    $main_body
8. After $main_body, add a comma then add ```php
                 $content_map,
                 "referrer_banned"
  1. Lastly find, ```php
    "Your " . TITLE . " commission payment has been made.",
    $main_body
10. Then add a comma after $main_body, then add ```php
               $content_map,
               "referrer_paid"

And After this you should have emails being sent to people that aren't using EMAIL_TEMPLATE_DEFAULT.PHP but the right one.

Re: snap-affiliates?

Something to work on:

  • Ability to edit details in ACP.
  • Ability to deny applications in ACP.
  • Ability to edit details on the customer side. (Some might change websites.)
  • Ability to add "Where to send my check?"

So far I got the Deny application one off that list but I want to get the change website, and create a payment method selection. (Like "I want to be paid with "Store Credit" or "I want to be paid in PayPal.".) Also a sidebox for easy login after approval.

Also working on a new landing page... The giant wall of text that I have for terms isn't REALLY appealing.

An update was submitted to the ZenCart Modifications database with this BUT it might be denied since it was heavy on the "Hire me to do it" from the original author. (Most of those "mods" he spoke of, anyone on these forums can do for free.)

Re: snap-affiliates?

Delving in on this ... I think I have enough ideas to warrant a new version number LOL.

This is what I'm looking at as stuff to work on.

  • Language File Usage
  • Deny Ability
  • Unban notice sent when an account is unbanned.
  • Changing the Web Address from ACP
  • Viewing the Country if not in the United States
  • Viewing the State in the address if using drop down states
  • Creating a define page for the terms and conditions (including writing a sample, will need a legal team I think)
  • Payment Methods (Store Credit, PayPal, Paper Check are three options)
  • Changing the Payment Methods from the ACP
  • More image options. (example, including more than one 468x60 image).
  • Usage of ACP to set default commission rate and affiliate ID prefix (using files isn't a good idea for this).
  • W9 warning for United States based customers... (Will likely involve me making a brand new set of table fields to hold address information)

Can anyone think of anything else?

Re: snap-affiliates?

I'd have one request if it was at all possible to allow different comission rates for different categories or products. That way one could offer more comission on higher margin products rather than being tied to the one default comission rate.

Something like category A =this and category B = that.

I think I can use the reward point coding here to get it...

Re: snap-affiliates?

Here is one code fix.

While running the email for payouts, I noticed that no matter the referrers would receive an email stating they got $0.00.

Here is a fix to that.

Open admin/referrers.php.

Look for ```php
$referrers[$selected]['orders_unpaid'] = 0;

Before that add ```php
  $commission_total = $referrers[$selected]['orders_unpaid'];

Now shortly after that in the same file, maybe a line or two down, look for ```php
"EMAIL_COMMISSION_TOTAL" => number_format(floatval($referrers[$selected]['orders_unpaid']),2),

Replace this with: ```php
      "EMAIL_COMMISSION_TOTAL" => number_format(floatval($commission_total),2),

Now save. You should now have the correct tally.

This coding fixes a coding bug where the commission tally was reset to 0 before it was actually used. Now the script will note the total in a separate variable and will call that variable to put into the email.

Any questions, feel free to post.

Re: snap-affiliates?

just wanted to add I do get a sign up page with a place to put terms by going to http://mysite.com/referrer_signup
but the same as someone else said, it only leads to sign up for an account through the website, it says nothing about referral program.
I have triple checked all files.

That is because in order to sign up for an affiliate account, you need to get an account with the shopping cart that hosts it and to further you must be logged in to the account as well.

There is no standalone "Affiliate-Only" sign up.

Re: snap-affiliates?

UPDATE:

This one is kind of necessary ONLY if you want to receive emails with the proper link when someone signs up.

If you renamed your admin directory, you really should by the way, you will want to make the following change to /zencart/includes/modules/pages/referrer_signup/header.php

Find:

    HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . "admin/referrers.php?referrer=" . $_SESSION['customer_id']. "&mode=details";
```And change the admin/ to be whatever your admin directory is. Example, if you renamed your admin directory to be "dodobird" this line should read:
```php
    HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG . "dodobird/referrers.php?referrer=" . $_SESSION['customer_id']. "&mode=details";

This way you will get the email notification with the link that will still take you straight to necessary place.

Re: snap-affiliates?

Ok, figured everything else out, but where do I put the path for the banners? I have uploaded them to the templetes/mytemplete/images/referrers folder and changed the sizes to reflect the correct size in the tools file, but they are coming up blank because I don't have the code in. Every way I put the code in it breaks that page.
Can someone post an example and placement please?
Thanks, I am already loving this mod!!
