No one answered this.

I,m getting this also, The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'http://www.mydomain.com/sitemapreviews.xml'.

Any one know what this mean.

Re: SitemapXML v.2

I get these errors in my sitemapezpages.xml file:

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: http://www.bendisskin.com/sitemapezpages.xml
Line Number 34, Column 61: <loc>http://www.bendisskin.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=34</loc>
------------------------------------------------------------^

I guess it doesn't like the second "="? Is there a way to fix this so it doesn't produce this error?

This is a sitemap for search engines and is not meant to be viewed in a browser. You need this, though, to help improve your organic search engine result placement (SERP) in the search engines. I recommend updating this sitemap every time you make any changes to your categories, products, meta tags, or anything else in your website. The search engines respond more and place a higher value on your content when you are pinging them with updated sitemaps as it shows that the site's content is actively changing and isn't static.

I think that you are confusing this with the zen cart sitemap that is displayed on your site for visitors to quickly find what they are looking for.

It will throw error if there are no reviews.
Try opening other .xml files in the root of your store and they will display, if there is some content.

Re: SitemapXML v.2

Thanks,

When I clicked on the sitemapproducts.xml, URLs in this Google Sitemap: 476 and sitemapcategories.xml, 56 etc. I got this message only when I click on the sitemapreviews.xml. I see now what you are talking about.

Thanks lankeeyankee, and ckosloff.

For anyone wanting to remove the OLD version of sitemap, run this script from the root of your store (assuming you have shell access)
Good addition.
Haven't tried it, but let me add something to this post.
Assuming that you are hosted on a shared server, which is the case for most of us, you can ask your admin to give you jailed SSH access.
Then use an SSH client like PuTty (free), and run this script.
For the DB you just use the Admin -> Tools -> Install SQL patches.

Re: SitemapXML v.2

Okay, I installed this last week. When I create the sitemap or submit it the box that pops up is a black background with black text....that's problem #1 that I still can't figure out.

Problem #2

Originally I had 4220 pages in the sitemap and about 2500 of them indexed.

I now have 4220 pages in the sitemap and only 12 indexed......huh?

Re: SitemapXML v.2

Hi,

our zencart version: 1.3.7
sitemapXML version: I have tried both 1.3.19 and 1.3.13

Version 1.1.13 was working fine all the while until one fine day, it stops working. After I have clicked "here to create your sitemap..", it will load a new window, indicated my save path and base url but it still stop working after that. I have upgraded to 1.1.19 and I got the same problem. There is no error message and after going though the old posts, i know (and i have confirmed) it has to do with the setting in my php.ini. I do not wish to change my memory limit and may I know if there is any workaround?

Thank you in advance.

regards,
Andy

Re: SitemapXML v.2

I apologize to everyone.

After some problems I finally installed the 2.1 version.

But unfortunately I have problems with this mod, not working well because MagicSEO also use this mod and not handle the URL Rewriting (redirect 301).

Someone can help to generate the sitemap with the management of Rewriting url?

Please understand that this add-on works fine for many websites, so there's nothing wrong with it.
Something in your site is conflicting, or some files are corrupt, or DB patch not sent right.
You have to verify the whole installation: compare files and locations, resend DB patch, etc.

I can deal with the black on black. I'll find a way to fix that eventually. What I can't understand is why Google is suddenly not indexing pages that it used to index. It seems like this add on is working fine by sending the pages to Google....but there must have been some change that caused Google to think the pages aren't worth indexing anymore. Could it have something to do with update frequency settings or something?

You might want to check with numinix to see if there is an update to the add-on module to makes sitemapxml compatible with Magic SEO. We are waiting for such upgrade as well. Alternatively, you can use the sitemap provided by Magic SEO URL and there will be no issues.
