Product Extra Fields for text, pdfs and flash

Minor issue here. I had your previous version installed. From your new version (that I got from your PM) I updated and uploaded everything until the sql patch.
When I try to get that done through the admin, here is what I get:

1146 Table 'thenameofmydatabase.products' doesn't exist
in:
[INSERT INTO zen_product_extra_fields (products_id) SELECT products_id FROM products where products_type = 1;]

What am I missing? :blush:

There were no changes to the database so there is no need to run the install sql script unless you've not created the required data base table.

and - looking at the error message closer - you might have a prefix on your tables so therefore the table doesn't exist as in the sql file.

I am sorry if I am placing this on a wrong discussion. I am testing this on a non-active site just to make sure I am doing everything right and I don't seem to be able to correct some of the errors. I get the following errors in the product page.

Warning: reset() [function.reset]: Passed variable is not an array or object in /home/poshkid1/public_html/admin/includes/classes/object_info.php on line 29

Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /home/poshkid1/public_html/admin/includes/classes/object_info.php on line 30

any help would be appreciated.

I am thinking about installing this on a site that has over 1600 products and I don't want to mess with it unless I know I can get it to work right.

Are you talking about the SQL Patch? If so, yes I have.

I had the same issue. Same error popped up in the Admin, on the already existing product pages.
I noticed that I didn't have that error message on a product create AFTER installing "Product Extra Fields".
The only solution I found was to get rid of all my products, uploaded all the products again and problem solved.
It works for me as I have about 80 products. But maybe Delia has a better idea...

I would pay to have someone upgrading "Product Extra Fields" to a version that would work with Easy Populate!!! :yes:

i have actually installed the Extra description files mod, everything works fine in admin, files are uploaded etc but nothing appears on the product page, although the product page shows the code to show it?

is there any point trying to fix this or should i install the extra products field mod?

I am having an issue understaing the download and upload in order for the MOD to work properly. I have over 1700 products and when I install the mod there is nothing in the admin area's product fields, however on the customer side the product shows without any problems. I can't afford to screw this up and that is why I asked for a more clear direction on how to export prodcuts in MYPHPADMIN and then Import them back in. So far, no response....

Oh Well.

The new version has an sql patch to use that will set it up completely without having to use phpmyadmin.

If necessary, go get new version and start over.

I wrote this extra fields mod because he had not actually finished or finessed the description one.

NOTICE:
The new version of zen cart does change some of the files for this mod. I will upload a new version when I get a chance. Just be forewarned - you cannot upgrade to version 1.39 yet. If you have installed the new version - DO NOT INSTALL THIS MOD yet!

Is it possible to add the extra field below the description on a product listing page?

I have tried all sorts of variations but haven't had any luck on this page.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

modules/product_listing.php is not part of this mod.

It works great for the product **info **page but I also need the field to show on the product **listing **page.

Have you done this before?

Did anyone ever find a solution to this problem? I have the same one. Can no longer edit products. I think the problem stems from installing the product extra fields mod into a subfolder of public_html. But I don't know what to change to fix it.

When I go to classes/object_info.php, lines 29 & 30 are comment lines......

Are you using the latest version? It's supposed to work. It was never set up to copy in the first version.

I just checked this mod against the 1.3.9.c version and it looks like it will work fine.
