HELP!!! Redirect Loop at Checkout if no shipping found and FEC/COWOA installed

Well, in the site that I'm working on, they do ship heavy freight so I (for now) did a quick mod to the flat rate module to kick in after total weight goes over what UPS can take. They offered a flat rate anyway so I lucked out there.

Do you think re-directing them to a contact page is the right thing to do? I mean if they are that far along in the process, wouldn't it be better to find a way to make some shipping mod be available no matter what?

I do want to see if I can find a better solution though. I just lucked out that the site does have a flat rate for heavy freight. But I suspect this will pop up on some other sites where that won't be an option.

I'll dig back into this later. I know it's gonna bite me again. Will post any other findings.

We too had the same issue of "Redirect Loops", we found out our version was outdated. The 1.4.5 update seemed to fix the problem, it even includes a few new features!

I am getting the "Redirect Loop" error before even get to shipping. If I click on product, add to cart, get to shopping cart page and then click to checkout...I get error. Takes a long time to load and then gives "Redirect Loop" error. I have not even been to login page. :frusty:

I use FEC and COWOA. I am using Zencart 1.3.8a. What version are you referring to with 1.4.5? I use USPS for international ship and table rate with free ship over $40.

It's funny you should bring up this old thread of mine!! My Zen Cart store started doing this today again for no reason. It has been working perfectly until today, then it's started entering into this very same redirect loop when I click on the checkout button. Same as you!!

Anyone have any idea why this has started to happen again? I've not altered ANYTHING lately.

Lost more sales today! I can see them in the bailed carts section of Supertracker! It is happening in two area's after clicking go to checkout at shopping cart page and after customer creates account.Takes forever for page to load and get redirect loop. :frusty:

The FEC mod has lots of files in it. If permissions keep you from uploading them all you will probably get the redirect. Make sure all the files from the fec package were uploaded.

Not sure what you are talking about. I have had this mod running for a year or so. All files have been loaded. Not sure of any that had permission to be changed. It happened every so often, but now all the time. I have tried many test log in and happens to almost all - 1 order out of 10 actually makes it to check out page.
