Authorize.net down?

Anyone else having problems because AUTHORIZE.NET is down? :censored:

Apparently 3 hours ago their system went down. Their website is down and their support #(877) 447-3938 only plays a message that they are closed for the holidays.....

Anyone know another way to contact them?

A shhopper emailed me 7:00 CDT.
Can't access their website either.

Did some checking. Wikipedia says they are located in Utah.. Not sure if that is true or not. Utah Tribune indicated some serious weather last night..

I would suggest you try to call your bank contact that you have your merchant # with and see if they can get ahold of Authorize.net... That's what I am trying to do at the moment...

This is the worst I've seen from AuthNet, several hours offline and an on vacation voicemail, WTF?!!

Generally I've been happy with AuthNet, but when the s hits the f, then they're not terribly responsive -- unlikely they are closed for the holiday, probably scrambling their collective arses off trying to sort out the problem, whatever it is.

Hope they get back up and running shortly, east coast customers are writing in now and will only get worse later in the day

Same here, no response from their authorize.net website or their payment gateway, they are both down.

Incredibly frustrating, how can they be closed any day when then process credit cards 24/7 businesses relay on them!!!! (answer message when you call)

Does anyone know if they are at least attempting to fix the problem?

Our site is down until they are back up.

Looks like they went down right around midnight Pacific. Getting complaints from our European clients. Expecting a tidal wave of complaints as the day wears on.

I really, really hope this is a technical problem, and not a "we packed up and left town in the middle of the night" event.

I do remember seeing a "We'll be closed on July 3rd for the holidays" message when I logged into their site yesterday afternoon to refund a customer for a purchase.... When I saw that their site was down at 4 am (CT) this morning and knowing they weren't going to be open didn't give me a good feeling...

I have two bank contacts trying to get ahold of Authorize.net. Hope they don't have their servers hooked up to a circuit that is controlled by a light switch next to their front door.... "Last one out hit the lights..."

I'm on indefinite call hold on one of their support lines. At least it isn't shunting me to voicemail with a "we're closed for the holiday" message.

If I locate a human, I'll post whatever information they provide.

I'm not a zencart user, but this is the only discussion I was able to find on the outage.

We have our network monitoring system also check https://secure.authorize.net, it checks every five minutes. I show it as having gone down at 11:59am.

Complete speculation on my part, but given that it went down almost exactly at midnight sounds like some sort of scheduled maintenance that went horribly awry.

Not the sort of thing I wanted to wake up to...:cry:

I called to their British office. There is was a fire at the data center. That's the only thing they are able to say at this point.
This is not fun ...

I can't find anything confirms this, and I sure hope it's not true.....

Their data center has had a fire. Authorize.net is trying to get back in the building to initiate emergency contingency plans. The combination of holiday and this event is probably freaking them out as much as us. I also understand they are trying to call employees in from the holiday to man the phone lines and provide updates.

They are hoping to get back online today.

Thought you would like to know.

Other forums are also saying that they went down at midnight. I got my daily batch information email from them at 12:17am Mountain Time, so I know they were up until at least that point.

Luckily I have PayPal Pro also setup for my storefronts, so I just flipped over to that for now, but this is not a fun thing to have happen on a busy Holiday weekend for us.

I managed to get through to a nice lady in accounting from Cybersource. She seemed completely in the dark about the whole thing and even gave me a pointless 9-5 customer support number to call. So I think they are just down, not out.

At least I am getting a response to ping now. Some improvement!

Like you, we hope that they get things straightened out and back online soon, but this sort of thing can and does happen with payment processors.

You should always have an emergency plan. If a processor is down you should disable that payment module and have an alternative way to pay for purchases. Either with a different processor or using a different method.
