stuck on install on PC

For step 5, if you do not want to create a new username/password for MySQL in XAMPP; then use the default one:

username = root
password =* leave blank i.e. do not enter anything*

Note that the above settings are not recommended on a 'live' site.

You should be able to proceed from there to 7,8,9 after that.

For the curl extension problem, check the following items:

• you have edited the correct php.ini file as indicated in the book.
• your firewall/antivirus is not blocking the connection
• re-start your PC to see if the changes are effected.

avginet.exe - dont know if these apply either.

UPnP framework is not - don know if that applies
