An Upscale Boutique Support Thread

Iam hoping some one may beablie to help me out with a new site Ive put up, I am using the upscale boutique template, all has gone well up untill I view the site in IE 8, sorry the site Url is https://www.carmiccards.co.uk .... the side bars and main page are dropping down in IE 8, I have tryed the demo in IE 8 and that works fine, so I was hoping some one could help me out with this ?? IE 7 and firefox render the page fine, its just in IE 8.

This is happening because you have the customer greeting turned on. Are you planning on using the customer greeting on the site? If you aren't you just need to turn it off in admin--configuration--layout settings.

It is not the template. See the screenshot in ie8 of the demo. It must be something that you have done. You can address the problem by creating an ie8 specific stylesheet or try reinstalling.

Have reinstalled the template and the zencart software and still no luck, plus I have see other sites in the thread with the same problem, if any one could help, that would be great.

Thanks for the info Anne, it turned out to be the 2 css style sheets (ie6.css and ie8.css) that came with the 1.1 theme files, they just needed to be put in the css folder and bingo, it works fine, great template and great surport, thanks again, Tim.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I just submitted an update to the template package. I added integrated social bookmarking (twitter and facebook) links in the footer, added cross browser compatibility for all major browsers ( Firefox, IE8, IE7, IE6, Google Chrome, Opera, and Safari), fixed the link color in the bottom ez pages links, make a few other small "fixes" to spacing here and there, added custom icons for write reviews and product notifications, and cleaned up the stylesheet.

Hello - I am thinking about using this theme and have a question.

How easy is it to modify it with the addons css horizontal drop down menu and footer menu?

So far I have found that it is a :censored: to keep some of the templates "inline" when adding the drop down menu for the categories. I just have not been able to figure out how eveything works together yet.

This will depend a lot on your understanding of css.

Go to includes/templates and check to see that there is a directory called an_upscale_boutique

Is it a file or a directory? It should be a directory.

Wow.. that I am unsure- what would the difference be between the two... In my includes/template there is what looks to be a file folder like the rest of the items that are there.
I apologize in advance- this is COMPLETELY new and foreign to me... I wanted to try something different than a standard website...maybe not such a great idea!

O.k., great :smile: Have you gone to your zen cart admin--tools--template selection? You should see under "templates installed" An Upscale Boutique.

That is where my problem is... there is nothing there- only the classic contemporary green... I have asked my provider to set my info all back to default so I can try this all over again, as I think that I have messed up more than I thought possible!... I am really hoping for it to work because the design is fantastic!

If they did reinstall the zen cart then you would not see the template until you re-install it.

I downloaded Zen cart again and have unzipped and uploaded the upscale boutique again and yes the directory is there...When I go into the zen administration though it is still not there.
