Customer gets order but not sent to paypal first (using both group discounts+coupons)

Given the date of your post, I assume you mean v1.3.8a
So, I've set up a clean install of v1.3.8a with the demo products included.
That works for me too.
I did the same.
I'm testing using the "Single Download" product included in the demo products, which has a downloadable zip attribute connected to it.
Its price is $39.
Did that:
I have a 10%-off coupon, which subtracts $3.90
And the customer is set to the 50%-off group, thus subtracting an additional $17.55
Thus the amount to be submitted for payment is $17.55
And, on the confirmation screen, up under the billing address it says "Payment Method: PayPal", as expected.
I'm not getting that. It's taking me to PayPal exactly as expected.

Dr Byte If you read this i would greatly appreciate it if you could look back from my reply at post 28 onwards as I believe I have confirmed when the error occurs. The reason it did not for you in your test was because the coupon was only a 10% discount. I won't rewrite but really wnat to persever with this until it is sorted out and my answer got lost in the posts since then.

Anyone else imterestde in assisting me please read from post 26.

Okay, we've got a fix. But it's a complicated one. Posting a patch for it is pretty complex.
The fix will be included in v1.3.9.
