Yes and it still didn't work.

You say your shop is at:
http://store.xeracx.net
But when I get to the shop and navigate I go to:
http://xeracx.net/store
Are you using anything such as SEO/rewrites or mixing up the methods to call your shop within the shop itself?
Is everything referred to in one method through out the store?

I'm using 1.3.9d on a new install. I've installed paypal sessions and imagehandler2.
I use IE8 on this computer as well as Firefox Mozilla. I can login as a customer on Mozilla but not on IE8. I've cleared my cookies after removing my site from my Favourites list. I've renamed old mylog files (from 01/07/2010) in the cache folder (didnt want to delete them, just in case)
I can log in using IE8 on a different computer.
When I try and log in using this computer and IE it doesnt give me any error messages but it does add to the number of people online. These only clear after a while and after I've closed this browser.
I am a completely new zen person so please be gentle with me.

By trial and error I discovered that if I removed the New Product box from the left column the problem disappeared and I was able to login as a customer without any problems.
I dont want people to think this is the solution as I had managed to corrupt my first zen cart, uninstalled it but didnt check that all the files were removed before reinstalling it. So, just in case, I've uninstalled everything and will start again with a clean system.
Totally Zenned
I don't know if this is related, but when registering with 1.3.9d the login screen would just refresh with all the fields blank. If I look at whose online, a new session has been created but the customer isn't logged in.
Going to ADMIN->CONFIGURATION->SESSIONS->RECREATE SESSION->FALSE seemed to fix the issue. Any ideas?

Turn that back on ...
Clean your cookies and cache ... sometimes closing all browser sessions are needed for those who are developing sites and making changes with secure issues or cookie issue ...

Well, it is more than just myself having problems. Many customers were unable to register on this website.

Btw, the fix cache key didn't change anything as the path was already correct. We also store all sessions in the database.

Also if using SEO/rewites ... turn those off to test things ...
