yup, this is what i'm doing while i wait to sort this out. our site started out with only paypal, so it's just like the old days.

i spoke with linkpoint tech last night and they suggested deleting and re-uploading the PEM file, which i had already done and did again to no avail. they suspected some sort of caching going on, so i hopped to DH tech and they suggested unclicking fast CGI to avoid unnecessary caching. still no good.

interesting re: dreamhost and curl, i am still pretty convinced the problem has to be coming from the host, but i still can't pinpoint the problem.

Dreamhost is actively working to solve the problem, just got off chat with tech support, they hope to have it resolved shortly, so hopefully there will be an answer for all of soon!

Hi Guys! I'm not running ZenCart, but I am running my credit transactions through Linkpoint, and hosting at Dreamhost. I had a successful purchase made on 2010-06-25 14:55:46 (PST), and an SGS-020006 at 2010-06-26 05:31:58. I've gotten nothing but SGS-020006 since then.

Here's the funny thing though - I only get this error when running our site on Dreamhost. I have Mercurial version control software running, and 2 other mirrors of my site running. When I run locally off of my Mac server, I can process orders. I setup a mirror on hosting I have at 1and1.com, and it processes there too. I have perhaps a dozen other sites running on different user accounts and servers at Dreamhost, and they all exhibit the same behavior - SGS-020006.

It is odd, I use cUrl for other processes too - mostly for grabbing XML data from other servers. I'm still using it successfully (at Dreamhost) to grab currency rates from Europe, and tracking information from the USPS.

Last night I signed up for hosting at in motion hosting .com - I'm not interested in their 5 dollar serving, I'm opting instead for the $85 VPS server. I had to confirm my credit information when signing up, so I called them on the telephone at 10:00pm. I talked to a person. It felt good.

In a nutshell, I can reliably demonstrate that Dreamhost is the only consistent factor in this failure. I was certain it had to be Linkpoint, but this was not the case. I'm porting my main money-making sites out of there today. I'll monitor this thread, and post any updates as I get them myself. Good luck to you all.

I'm guessing DreamHost's CURL config is broken probably by expired SSL or something similar in their server config, thus causing the actual data transmission to be bad, and thus the rejection by Linkpoint's processing system.
Could be worse than that, but wouldn't be a surprise.
It'll be interesting to see what the real root issue is/was ... if they've got the balls to disclose it.

Hey Guys, I have just woken to an email from one of my customers experiancing the same problems with processing their order through our store. I have come across these posts to see that there are many others reporting the same thing. I haven't been made any changes to my cart for some time so I know it is nothing that I have done however now when I go into the admin and the payment model and click on the Linkpoint/YourPay API at the top of the cart I get the following appearing in a pink header : CURL functions not found - required for Linkpoint API payment module. So I am guessing that once this CURL thing is fixed by who ever this should resolve itself?? Or am I going to need to do something or is this unknown at this stage?

Paypal express requires Curl as well. Anyone had anyluck with it so far? I am back to normal offsite paypal, just like in the beginnings, true, true...

Just a quick note of thanks, especially to Dr. Byte - the issue is resolved for my client. The web hosting provider informed us this evening that there was indeed an issue with the firewall blocking communication over the port.

Hopefully this is the last we have of the problem. I don't know what firewall he's running on the server, otherwise I'd share that information here for troubleshooting purposes.

I'm following this issue on another forum, and have some word from a Dreamhost tech. Here's what he has to say:

"RE: curl_exec() malfunctioning
I'm not totally clear on the specifics yet, but my current understanding is that a recent build of our PHP packages inadvertently switched the SSL implementation used by CURL from OpenSSL to GnuTLS. Ordinarily this would have been an invisible change, but it appears that there's an implementation defect in GnuTLS which makes it unable to connect to certain servers, including Paypal."

... and for days they have denied anything was wrong. Great place.

Dreamhost had two of their top guys on it for most of the day yesterday apparently, last night i finally got an order again...from japan of all places lol. But, that is a huge weight off my shoulders. Huge! Even with the denials in the beginning, i appreciate them digging deeper to find the cause. Persistance pays off in this case.

Dr.Byte can you tell me what I need to be doing to get this sorted out please.

Zen Cart needs your server to have CURL support compiled into PHP, which will be evidenced by the existence of the curl_init() function being recognized by PHP.
Evidently your server does not have that.
You'll have to get your hosting company to fix that.

It's really a separate issue than this thread which is specifically dealing with a Dreamhost server config problem which started over the weekend.

Thanks Dr.Byte I have sorted this out with my host and is all operational again. It's a coincidence that I started to experiance this at the same time as the Dreamhost issue. Sorry to have tapped this on in this thread, I am happy for you to remove this to avoid any confusion for others.
