Support Thread UPDATED: Reviews by Guest & CAPTCHA using TTF & GD for Zen-Cart v1.3.9

lemesos80:

Hello and thanx for this nice mod!
It works with english language (default) but the image doesn't appear on other languages. Any help?
I use zen cart 1.3.9h and english and greek for languages.
thanx in advance

Hi,

I'm Glad you are finding it useful.

A quick question, did you copy the files in languages/english to your languages/greek folder??
There are 2 folders in there called (CUSTOM) & (extra_definitions). CUSTOM of course refers to your template name.

A copy of those files/folders need to be in each language you use!

Let me know the result.

Best Regards,

Hello rlexyd,
yes, everything is in place. The text appears just fine in greek, only the image doesnt appear. Did you try it on a multilanguage site? If you want I can give you our url to have a look.

Re: Support Thread UPDATED: Reviews by Guest & CAPTCHA using TTF & GD for Zen-Cart v1.3.9

Hi rlexyd,

Thanks for making this mod. However I ran into some problems with it. I followed the instruction carefully and got the images loaded nicely on the website. However, it doesn't seem to work. I went to the Contact Us page, filled in the name, email, message and leave the verification code BLANK. Then I hit SEND and it's still able to send the message.

Also, is there any thing I have to do in the Admin section to enable Guest Review. Since it still ask me to log in in order to write a review.

Thanks

Re: Support Thread UPDATED: Reviews by Guest & CAPTCHA using TTF & GD for Zen-Cart v1.3.9

Hello, thanks for updating and combining the mods.
i notice when testing the mods that if i enter a wrong code for the "write a review" and "tell a friend" pages that it will not save the message when it reloads the page to inform you that code was incorrect.
is there a way to have it save the fields on those 2 pages? i notice it does save the fields on the regisrtation page. I would be pretty cranked-up if i wrote a nice long review just to find i entered the code incorrectly and it's wiped out.

thanks,
billy

Hi Debby,

Yes, it also works with 1.3.8a.
It is always recomended to make backup copies of any file that is being replaced, better safe than sorry.

Hi Billy,
You are welcome, I'm glad you are finding it useful:)

I will have a look into it.
Guessing it must be in the javascript file, since the registration page saves the information, I will see what's missing in the other page files compare to it.

Will keep you updated.

Hi RLEXYD-
great plugin!!! Got it working in a snap

I was wondering if it is possible to display the reviews on the product detail page?

if you need to see the site i'm trying to apply the reviews to you can see it here www calivirgin com go to "products", choose a category then a specific product.

thanks!!

Re: Support Thread UPDATED: Reviews by Guest & CAPTCHA using TTF & GD for Zen-Cart v1.3.9

The Reviews by Guest & CAPTCHA using TTF & GD seems to be working just fine but when a customer doesn't register first but just shops, once they are ready to check out and are directed to register that page doesn't show the CAPTCHA however when the customer registers and hits enter they are instructed that they haven filled out the CAPTCHA correctly and the CAPTCHA still is not visable.

Also I have an "Ask a question" button is their an update for that?

Re: Support Thread UPDATED: Reviews by Guest & CAPTCHA using TTF & GD for Zen-Cart v1.3.9

Cool mod, like the CAPTCHA especially on the contact page.

Question though, is there a way to move the review write / display to a sidebox so you don't have to drill down to product level to see the reviews. Sorry this is a bit outside of the mod. I'd like to make it easier for the customer to read and right reviews by having the link display in a sidebox column rather then the product level.

Thanks, John

Re: Support Thread UPDATED: Reviews by Guest & CAPTCHA using TTF & GD for Zen-Cart v1.3.9

OK I am feeling like a total idiot but I cannot get this mod to work....I have everything uploaded...merged my header_php.php file and when I click on write a review I get a blank page....

when I put this line of back in the header it works fine...

if (!$_SESSION['customer_id']) {
$_SESSION['navigation']->set_snapshot();
zen_redirect(zen_href_link(FILENAME_LOGIN, '', 'SSL'));
}

If I remove it....it gets a blank page?!?!?!

I have spent an hour going through this and I get that it is something I am doing wrong..but cannot figure it out for the life of me! Any insight would be welcome!!!

site is http://outdoorplaytoys.com.

Thanks!

Re: Support Thread UPDATED: Reviews by Guest & CAPTCHA using TTF & GD for Zen-Cart v1.3.9

Just installed this add-on with ZenCart 1.39h. The documentation was not clear that the "captcha_img.php" file also had to be in the root for this to work.

I added that and the images show up on the New Account Page.

However it does not show anything related to this captcha addon when looking at the "Contact Us" or "Product Review" page. Both are enabled on the Admin> CAPTCHA screen.

My Contact Us screen is simply the default "Define Page" for Contact Us.

Not positive what handles the product review, its also the default.

Never mind, I figured it out. Found the pages in the include/modules/pages structure which still needed to be merged.

I only merged the sections highlighted as being part of the CAPTCHA code. There were many other lines which do not match the stock 1.39h code which I ignored assuming my code install was newer.

Hello,

I have just intalled the add on I get same inital issue as the mistycloudz. When I click on review I get a login prompt.
I am using the same template as mistycloudz the "RI_TEMPLATE_07:.
I wonder what did you have tyo change in your template to get it not to prompt a login page?
Any help is greatly appricated.
Thank you,
djace

Re: Support Thread UPDATED: Reviews by Guest & CAPTCHA using TTF & GD for Zen-Cart v1.3.9

Hello,

Just when I thought I got it all working I noticed a bug.
When I enable Web Maintanance on my site, go to Contact Us section to write an email I see "enable picture" inseatd of captcha code.
However, if there is no Maintanance everything is working fine.

Can anyone test their website and see if the Captcha is working fine with the web maintatnce ON?

Thank You.

djace
