New Page Needed

using version 1.3.9f, I need to add another page to the information sidebox titled "Secure Ordering". It would be nice if I could edit it from the admin define pages area. What is the easiest way to accomplish this? thanks,

There are a number of files you need to duplicate, edit and copy. Take a look at the following files and folders:

includes/modules/pages/page_2/
includes/templates/template_default/tpl_page_2_default.php
includes/languages/english/page_2.php
includes/languages/english/html_includes/define_page_2.php

Each of those will need to be copied, and renamed with your new file name in place of page_2.

You'll also find a few defines which need to be editted and added to the includes/filenames.php file.

What I find is easier is to turn off all those 'define' pages. In place of them just use the EZ Pages built in to zen to create your needed pages. More flexible and easier to manage.

i have not been able to get an ez page to show up anywhere so far and don't know where to turn on the links box that is to contain them. any help would be greatly appreciated.

In ezpages check that you have enabled the created page for the sidebox

ok, due to the excellent help here I have succeeded in getting a new listing under more information of the name Secure Ordering. The bad news is that when I click it I am taken to the page but the edits I put in under admin tools define pages does not show up. Confused here. I made all the edits in prior posts and more to make this appear. Any ideas?

site is ezinks.net , i edited and saved each change.
Not sure what id did wrong to keep me from editing the secure ordering page. It shows up under admin tools define pages and the link shows up under the more informatoin box. but when I edit under admin tools it does not display that editing when I click the link under more information.

I suggest you get the about us 3rd party module and review what is required to create a new page

Good point here. I neglected to mention that I altered the current Ultimate SEO URL module to work with EZ Pages as well (a while back). But I've got to find where I put that (made it for a few of my sites.)

Without that mod, yes, the urls would not be SEO friendly if using EZ Pages.

Downloaded the About Us mod and used it to create a Secure Ordering page in the information box. Worked great but I have created another hard to describe problem but here goes. Now all the informatin links including the Shipping info link display the title "Secure Ordering" at the top but contain their own text I put in from the admin define pages area.

There is also a small page label at the top which is a link that shows "Home :: Secure Ordering" no matter what page I am on. The Home portion is a link to the home page. I suspect both of these problems are related but have no idea how to fix it or how I did it.
anyone know where I messed this up?

I believe that you need to backout/remove /restore to default your attempt to change page_2

Sounds like the define('HEADING_TITLE', 'Secure Ordering') has been placed in the wrong file. It needs to be in a file called includes/languages/english/secure_ordering.php or similar, rather than your english.php file.

Any idea where else the error could be?

Did you back out ALL your earlier edits in the attempt to change page_2

working dilligently to back them out. trying to find them all.
