Andover Modern Template Support Thread

torsten01:

I did paste this to the very bottom of templates/andover_modern/css/stylesheet.css
Doesn't seem to make any difference.
Easiest solution would simply be to force extra photos (one or two) to the left side. That would do it. There must be a command somewhere that allows them to slip right or -in the case of more than one- to spread in equal distance over the line irrespective of them overlaying the buttons on the right. If that could just be changed.

Thank you

This does work--I tried it in firebug before posting. The clear makes it so that the add to cart doesn't cover up the additional images.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread

On this page, the images that appear for the "inlay" are all listed in a single column, I would prefer that they only display when a particular one is selected, but if tht is not already a feature then perhaps just changing them to be in a row across the page instead would make the page display a bit smaller.

You can select the layout for the attribute images in your admin--catalog--option name manager. Find the option name and click on edit. Change "Attribute Images per Row" and "Attribute Style for Radio Buttons/Checkbox:"

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread

Hello everyone! I just submitted a new, updated version of the template package.

* I updated the AddThis code on the product info page to include the Pinterest Pin It button
* I updated the product info page layout for a more custom look. The price, attributes, and add to cart are in their own box next to the product image with the description, AddThis, product details, etc. below
* The new, updated html readme file has been added
* I added social media icons for youtube, pinterest, google plus, and your blog in the footer
* I added tabbed home page centerbox content for new products, featured products, and specials

Download available from my site until the update has been approved here.

See the readme file from the new package for information on changed files and new files added.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread

Hello from me too! I installed this template as the guide says but when I finished all the guidelines I keep getting the message" Sorry!
There seems to be a problem connecting to our database. Please give us a few minutes to remedy the problem. Thank you."

Any idea what I have to do or if I did anything wrong?

The database problem is not being caused by the template. I would check your cache folder and also your configuration files to see if your database info is correct.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread

Hello again and thanks! I solved it :P.I have 2 more questions to ask you
first one: I would like to change the default language of the template to mine but then I want to keep english also as a secondary option. Can you please refer me to somewhere that i would be able to change the language of the template.I mean something like translating it and then if someone will need english will press english and translate back to english
second one is this: i would like to make an entrace page with first a registration form and when they register,it will have a login form. When users login with their usernames and stuff I want them to enter to the wbesite. So my question is after I make this webpage how can I connected to the entire template as I want the users to be logged as customers as well after the registration and the login.Any ideas or a guide how can I manage this?

Thanks for your time!

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread

I love your template, it is very well done with the update thank you! I have a question about the center box tabs (new, featured, specials) on the home page.
I want to have the "new" tab to always show new products on the home page. Right now, I have to click on the "new" tab for products to display. I have read your tutorial on displaying the center box but it doesn't show how to get products to be displayed as a default option without clicking on the tab. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  1. You will need to install whatever language pack you need.

  2. This will require custom programming. I would recommend hiring or consulting a php expert.

Thanks,

You can easily do this. See this post:

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread

Hello,

I am fairly new to Zen Cart in terms of experience and I have a problem with the Andover Modern template. I really like it, but I can't make it work at all. I watched the video how to install it. I copied all the files and reset the boxes. However, when I refresh the site only grey background appears. If I switch back to the default green template everything works just fine.
I must be doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what. The new site is here: https://www.clayjungle.com. I just installed Zen Cart 1.5.0 this week via GoDaddy as one of the applications they offer.
Any help would be highly appreciated, since I have no idea how to fix this.
Thank you.

If you are seeing a blank page or part of a blank page you have not installed the template correctly. Check your /cache folder for error logs.

Be sure to search the forum for gadaddy hosting. There are many problems associated wiith this web host.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread

Thank you for your advice. I checked the error logs and this is what it said:

[08-Aug-2012 19:28:47] PHP Warning: require(includes/modules/sideboxes/languages_header.php) [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/24/4522924/html/clayjungle/includes/templates/andover_modern/common/tpl_header.php on line 44
[08-Aug-2012 19:28:47] PHP Fatal error:  require() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required 'includes/modules/sideboxes/languages_header.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php') in /home/content/24/4522924/html/clayjungle/includes/templates/andover_modern/common/tpl_header.php on line 44

So I checked the files and sure thing, they were missing. But I dragged the whole includes folder over when I copied them the first time. So I dragged the whole includes folder to the server again and overwrote all the template files again. It didn't help. I don't know if the FTP client is not working right (FileZilla), or the server is for some reason not letting the files being copies over or if I am doing something wrong.
So, I used the includes folder from my backup of the site on my local drive, copied the files from the andover modern template over into it on my local drive and uploaded the whole includes folder for zen cart over to the server. Now it is working perfectly and it looks great :)
Thank you again for pointing me in the right direction and thank you for making this great template available for free.

I am happy that you corrected the problem. Since the problem was with your zen cart install, it would be wise to scrap your current installation and start from a fresh installation in case there are other files that are also missing.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Andover Modern Template Support Thread

Hi,
I am in the process of building a new site on which I have installed the andover modern template. It has all installed fine and is working very well except there seems to be a bit of an issue with the facebook like button on the product pages.

On your website if I goto a product page and click like it pops up a little window with my facebook account and allows me to add a comment to the link then when i go to my facebook account it says phil likes andover modern with a picture and the link to the product.

When I try the same thing on my site I click the like button, it increments the count by one and ticks the like button and thats it, then when I goto my facebook it says phil likes a link but doesn't say what it is or add a picture, it does have the link to the product page so if someone clicked the space where the picture should be it would go to the product page.

Do you have any idea what I might have done wrong to get this behaviour?

my new site is https://www.giftmakersdirect.com but it is down for maintenance at the moment while I build it, if you need to gain access to test please pm me your ip address and I'll add you to the exclusion list so you can see it.

Thanks

I would recommend going to the Addthis.com site and grabbing the latest version of the code for the social bookmarking and replacing this with the code used in the template. It has been a while since this template was updated and it is possible that they have updated their code. The code is in the includes/templates/andover_modern/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php file.

Thanks,

Anne
