[Fixed - See post 26] USPS International shipping problem...

I have been searching around for the past three hours trying all kinds of different things but I don't seem to be able to find the answer...

My shipping estimator, dummy orders and actual customer orders all work fine for U.S. orders, as did my international orders up until last night.

When trying to use the shipping calculator or place an actual order with international shipping information (it makes no difference what country I tried multiple) I was getting this message...

"We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use."

So, I checked out all my settings all looks good, nothing has changed and I haven't updated in quite some time.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the usps module and I now get this message when trying international transactions...

"Shipping quotes are based on the address information you selected: Canada" (just used Canada for example)

Which looks good but unfortunately the "Available shipping methods" and "Rates" sections are blank.

I called USPS to make sure my permissions are proper and they assure me they are. They also insist this has nothing to do with last nights update.

Could you check that from the Security Patches and Updates that you have the current USPS shipping module?

As of today I'm not getting any International Shipping rates returned either.

Everything worked fine until the year changed over.

Confirmed - working again for me. Removed, installed, put in all of the same settings and all is well in the world again.

Working but with one major issue....
After reinstall of new module and putting settings back to the way they were....

In my options I have the following selected...
Priority Mail International
First Class Mail Int Package

However.... The only option I receive for any weight package is Priority Mail international. Ive tested this with Japan, Canada, and Belgium shipping addresses.

I too am not getting the First Class International option. All others are coming across.

This includes the missing methods

I too am having the problems with the usps int not showing prices. I have a modified usps.php file which I changed with the updated file provided above but am still having problems after uninstalling and reinstalling the updated module. In the module config page, it looks good and updated with all the new shipping options, and have put in all the same info as I'd previously had but still no luck as the usps int options don't show up.

I've modified the original usps file around line 247 to only show certain shipping methods based on the total order weight. I've copied the shipping method name between the ' ' from earlier in the php file (lines 116-137) as I'd done before.

Attached is a zip containing my updated and original usps.php files.

Please help as I have customers trying to buy stuff and they're unable to right now. Thanks!

Just did that after I saw you posted it, still no luck. Yes I did the remove, install, recofig steps. Here is the file as I have it now (attached)

PeauProductions ... you are testing against the $type before it is cleaned ...

If you put an:
echo $type . '<br>';

right after the $type is cleaned you can see what you are looking for to use in your case statements ...

I am not familiar with the term "clean" in the context of this code (I know it has to do with getting the character code out of the ' ' naming, but don't know what function is doing the "cleaning"). Also I forget how to see the output of the echo function. Do I run it through a program like dreamweaver or does it output on my site somewhere. Thanks for you quick responses.

The $type is being cleaned ... you need to test for the cleaned $type not the $type with all the junk in it ...
