Bask black free template discussions

i am by no means an expert but for the zen link that appears above your logo i would look at includes/templates/bask_black/common/tpl_header.php and do a search for <header logo> that is near the top of the page and i am guessing that zen link is there somewhere on that page you could take that link out. Maybe??? but that is where i have been adding and moving things in the header.
keep in mind I am no expert at all.

you could always copy the text and search for it in <tools> <developers tool kit>

Re: Bask black free template discussions

Hi all.
Sorry to mither, but I’m a dreaded newbie and could do with some guidance.
Could somebody tell me how to change the background colour in Bask black? Ideally, I would like it to be a light grey (ish).

Cheers

Re: Bask black free template discussions

Hi there,
I love the layout of this Bask Black template, but I was wondering if it is possible to change the background so that an image is visible? I have got an image that I want to repeat horizontally in the background, but I haven’t got a clue how to go about it.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Re: Bask black free template discussions

Okay, I think I’ll try one more time for some much needed help.

Is it possible to change the background so that an image is visible on the left and right columns/panes? I have got an image that I want to repeat horizontally in the background, but I haven’t got a clue how to go about it.

Also, I would like to change the colour of the centre area to #141414 or similar.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Re: Bask black free template discussions

I may be being a little presumptuous here, for even assuming that anyone has taken the time to read my request for help - but I’m just letting you know that I have half sorted my obstacle.

I have managed to sort the BG image out, but I don’t know how to change the main body colour from whit to #141414.

Basically, any remaining white BG wants to be changed to #141414.
Could somebody please, give me some slack and help me out.

Cheers:(

mariasellii:

SPH, thank you very much for your comments. All your remarks and bug reports are highly appreciated.

The issue is corrected. Please upload updated version of the template from http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&cPath=40_53&products_id=1847.
The new version is 1.2 and will be available for download when Zen Cart team will approve it.

This issue is also corrected in the updated version 1.2. Just remove all the currencies via the <b>Localization<b> > <b>Currencies</b> area in the back-end (of course exept the 'US Dollar' item) and the sidebox will be disabled automatically.

Please post your questions on the following page of zen-cart-power 'Pure' free templates blog:
http://www.zen-cart-power.com/questions-and-proposals-on-pure-free-zen-cart-templates-from-zen-cart-power_166

This current thread is for disscussion of the Bask Black template only. Hope for your understanding.

Fixed in new ver. 1.2.

Thank you for the kind words. I am interested in your feedback too.

I would like to suppress the 'currencies' box in the navigation bar, but without suppressing all the currencies (except the dollar), as suggested here above. The reason is I have to work with multiple currencies, and I already have this possibility avavilable in one of the sideboxes.

How can I do that?

Re: Bask black free template discussions

Just trying to teach myself Zen cart, and thought i would have a play with this theme to start with.
I have installed the theme but the menu at the top is not loading properly for me? it seem to load the menu over two lines, rather than one layer on top of another. What have i done wrong?

Any ideas from you helpful & knowledgeable people :blink:

Re: Bask black free template discussions

tryphon - To hide the currencies box in the header, add to your stylesheet

.languages_wrapper {visibility: hidden;}

You could use display: none; instead; that would collapse some of the height of the header, which might or might not be desirable for you.

Salfordian - You appear to have sorted your background issue, with this in your stylesheet:

stylesheet.css (line 205)

#mainWrapper {
background-color: #141414;
border: medium none;
text-align: left;
vertical-align: top;
width: 960px;
}

Re: Bask black free template discussions

MISTER_MITCH - You might want to look at the future_zen template for experimentation. That is the most basic possible template (only a stylesheet and a few small image files), and it has some comments to help you understand what it is doing.

Check out (sorry, site offline) if you haven't already to see what the available templates look and act like.

Re: Bask black free template discussions

I have been trying to customise the menu bar colour to match the template theme but it is not having it. I have downloaded the Gifs: left_nav, right_nav, nav_center and nav_delim from includes/template/bask_black/images and recoloured the outer white to #141414 so as to blend with the colour scheme; but when I upload the Gifs the changes are not implemented.

Does anybody have any idea why they are not being updated… even though I am prompted to over right the Gifs when uploading back to the images folder.

Thanks in advance
Paul

Re: Bask black free template discussions

Hi there,

I am currently building a site with this theme. Most thins i can alter myself but i would really like to have the current menu item in a different colour.

I can change the menu text colors with css, but i can't find out how to have the current one (the page your are on) a different color.

If it is not possible then an alternative is to just have the homepage link in a different color. Any chance on doing that with css?

Thanks in advance

I've tested this nice template in the past and had my subcats open in a blue shade.

Anyway, here is some code from the Classic template, which as I recall has the subcats open in red (#ff0000) with the selected subcat in Bold red, perhaps this will help you.

/* categories box parent and child categories /
A.category-top, A.category-top:visited {
color: #008000;
text-decoration: none;
}
A.category-links, A.category-links:visited {
color: #004080;
text-decoration: none;
}
A.category-subs, A.category-products, A.category-subs:visited, A.category-products:visited {
color: #FF0000;
text-decoration: none;
}
SPAN.category-subs-parent {
font-weight: bold;
}
SPAN.category-subs-selected {
font-weight: bold;
}
/
end categories box links */

Re: Bask black free template discussions

If you want other menus to have the current selection highlighted where appropriate, you may need to do some recoding, as most of them do not have any indicator you can use for this. If you want to use the ez-pages header navbar or sidebox, you can install Ezpages Improved Menus from Free Addons to get this feature and others.

Re: Bask black free template discussions

Hi Everyone.

I am quite the noob so please bear with me.
I am trying to change the logo in the bask black template, I have changed the CSS logowrapper as per the ZenCart instructions also the PHP file includes/languages/ENGLISH/header.php but still the original logo is there and the original alternate text.

Can anyone help a noob out and tell me what I am doing wrong.

This is what I have added to the Stylesheet (with my own sizes and logo path), as per the ZenCart instructions.

#logoWrapper {
width:760px;
height:110px;
background-image:url(../images/your_header_image.???);
background-repeat:no-repeat;
}

Re: Bask black free template discussions

Also if you right click on the logo and look at the properties the logo path is given as:
mywebsite/includes/templates/template_default/images/mylogo.gif

This is not where I want it to point, is it? How do I point it in the correct direction?
