Upon checking my version again, I DO have 1.3.9h. I'm sorry about the misunderstanding!

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread (for ZC v1.3.9)

If it is working on one site on the server and not the other, then it is unlikely to be either the server or IH3 that is causing the problem

on the non-working site

  1. What lightbox are you using (full name and version)?, try to get imagehandler 3 working before adding any light box mod
  2. what are the permissions on your images folder
  3. What are the permissions on your bmz_cache folder
  4. are any files/folders being created within the bmz_cache folder?

can you confirm that these files are on your server

includes/modules/ArtSite/main_product_image.php

includes/functions/extra_functions/functions_bmz_image_handler.php

What happens if you delete the .htaccess file in the bmz_cache?

  1. Zen Lightbox 1.6.2/
  2. 777 inherited from what I can tell. I've been having issues with GoDaddy on getting their FTP client up, as I don't quite trust Filezilla yet. As soon as I get phone service back, I plan to call them and fix this. Filezilla tells me this is the permission, though.
  3. 777 inherited, again.
  4. No files are being created in the bmz_cache folder.

includes/modules/ArtSite/main_product_image.php is on my website.

includes/functions/extra_functions/functions_bmz_image_handler.php is also on my website.

I deleted .htaccess from my website, cleared the cache on my browser, went back to my website and looked around. .htaccess is still gone, and watermarks are not showing.

FileZilla is far more trustworthy than Godaddy's FTP program.

Next, try navigating to your site with FileZilla and deleting all the folders and files in the bmz_cache folder, **leaving only the bmz_cache folder itself and the index file. **

Then clear your browser cache again and take a look.

Once that's done, please come back and report on results.

You might want to keep the .htaccess and .keep as well although they may not be visible depending on your Filezilla settings.

Woops, my bad. I meant the .keep file but I typed index file. Do get rid of the .htaccess file though, because we're troubleshooting to see if that's causing the issue as it has occasionally for others.

So, to clarify what I posted previously....navigate to your site's directory using your FileZilla and delete all the files and folders inside the bmz_cache folder except for the .keep file.

Then clear your browser cache, visit your website and see if your images are watermarked and being served from the bmz_cache folder, and then please report your findings back here.

If this solves your issue, you can create a new .htaccess file by opening an MS Notepad blank file, and then copy/pasting the required info in there. Save it as .htaccess and upload it to the bmz_cache folder. (You can get the required info from the original .htaccess file that came with the download pack).

Don't ask why this works. None of us have been able to figure out why it works or why it's an issue for some folks to begin with.

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread (for ZC v1.3.9)

There was nothing in my bmz_cache folder (except the .keep file), and I deleted the .htaccess file a few posts ago. I restarted my browser and cleared my cache, but no help.

I'm really wondering if it's a permission issue. When I try to change permissions with Filezilla, I'm noticing it gives me an error. This is why I'm trying to get the FTP client on Go Daddy working, just for permission.

I'm going to check this out before I waste anymore of your time. If I get it working and the permissions are correct, I'll post here and let you know and ask for more suggestions.

it is never a waste of time when you help us help you...lol

you can check the folder permissions by going to your cpanel at godaddy then choosing to see file manager..it lists all the files/folders on your server then you can change the ppermissions from 755 to 777 or the other way around depending on host

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread (for ZC v1.3.9)

OMG! FINALLY!

The problem: bmz_cache folder had the wrong permissions. I also reuploaded my .htaccess file, too.

I just got off the phone with GoDaddy. They fixed my account so that I could get on my FTP client. Filezilla **was **telling me the wrong permissions. Once I fixed that, it all works great.

Thank you all for your patience and I am SO sorry to waste your time this way. Thank you so much for helping me get through this!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for helping me get through this!!!!!!!Filezilla was likely giving you the wrong information because your host doesn't allow you to change permissions using your FTP client. (tsk tsk..) I have NEVER had issue changing permissions using ANY FTP client EXCEPT for the few clients I have that are still hosted on GoDaddy.. As I recall this is a HALLMARK of GoDaddy permissions issues..

You really should consider another web host.. GoDaddy is KNOWN for these kinds of issues among others.. shrugs

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread (for ZC v1.3.9)

Hi,

I tried to install this addon, but I am constantly getting this message inside the Chrome web inspector :
"Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type text/html."

The image that is listed with the message is not visible in the browser (broken img icon).

many thanks...

I know that folks get annoyed when I re-post this.. but honestly this is the SAME information/steps that the support contributors here ALWAYS take folks through whenever they ask for help here.. (see recent posts for evidence of this) So there really is a reason why this troubleshooting list was put together..

From Page 1 of this support thread:

BEFORE YOU POST A SUPPORT QUESTION HERE READ THROUGH THIS SECTION (this is from the Image Handler readme file):
**
Troubleshooting Basics **

Make sure your custom template is active. (Admin > Tools > Template Selection)

Make sure Image Handler 3 is installed. Admin > Tools > Image Handler3 > Admin. Set permissions in both your images and bmz_cache folders to 755 (eg: **both **of these folders need to have the same permissions. For some webhosts you may have to set these permissions to 777).

If Image Handler 3 does not work or gives you errors:

  • Make sure all files are in correct location
  • Make sure you uploaded ALL the Image Handler 3 files
  • Make sure the files are not corrupt from bad FTP transfers
  • Make sure your file merge edits are correct
  • MAKE SURE YOU RE-READ THE CONFIGURATION AND USAGE SECTIONS!!!
  • Make sure that there are no javascript conflicts from other programs
  • Make sure that your main product image files names DO NOT contain any special characters
 ie: non-alphanumeric characters such as
 / \ : ! @ # $ % ^ < > , [ ] { } & * ( ) + =

Always use proper filenaming practices when naming your images - See this document as a reference: [\http://www.records.ncdcr.gov/erecords/filenaming\_20080508\_final.pdf\\\[/COLOR\]](http://www.records.ncdcr.gov/erecords/filenaming_20080508_final.pdf)

When posting bugs/issues aboutImage Handler 3, it's a WHOLE LOT more helpful to resolve them if you post details. Just saying "it's broken" or "doesn't work" does not provide nearly enough information to help YOU resolve YOUR issue.

Please provide as MUCH information as possible including:

  • The version of Zen Cart you are running
  • The version of Image Handler 3 you are running (you can see this by going to “Admin > Tools > Image Handler3” – the version is displayed in the upper left hand side)
  • Any other add-ons you may have also installed
  • Hosting/server information (PHP versions, mySQL versions, hosting provider etc)
  • The EXACT error/issue you are experiencing
  • AND if you're REALLY detail oriented, tell us the install sequence/method you used to install Image Handler 3.
  • [COLOR=Red]Post a link (not a screen print) to a specific product/product listing page where the issue you are experiencing can be seen (Please DO NOT make folks fish through your site looking for an example of your issue)

AND this last point is important.. The volunteers who help here need to SEE what you see LIVE. A screenprint really isn’t good enough.

adding to what Diva says, we do need to see the page!

  1. Does the image show in other browsers
  2. Are the other product images on the site working
  3. Does the original image have an uppercase file extension eg image.JPG, and what happens if you replace the image with one with a lowercase extension
  4. Did the image show before installing Image handler?
  5. What happens if you change

Admin --> configuration --> IH small images filetype

from no_change to jpg

and do the same for

Admin --> configuration --> IH medium images filetype
Admin --> configuration --> IH medium large filetype

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread (for ZC v1.3.9)

hi and sorry,

see attachment. Preview page Image handler in admin section. Permissions for directories were defined in two different FTP clients. All files are there.

Image handler works on my local machine, but not on my site.
