Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

Anyone out there that could help me? I would like to keep Slimbox as it doesn't take as much space as Lightbox, but somehow it doesn't show the NEXT & PREV links. It works if you click each image separate, you get the lightbox effect with the close button on the bottom corner. If anyone could help me, that would be great. Thank you:smile:

I am using v. 1.5 and Image Handler 4. I did merge the code like it said in Image Handler and after I did that, Fualbox did work. It wasn't showing the nav links even before I installed IH4. Other than that, Fualbox seems to be working fine.

Re: Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

Ok so I posted in the IH4 thread and didn't see this, glad I am not the only one not getting the Next/Previous icons....whew. Maybe I am not as stupid as I thought!

Re: Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

Next and previous not working. I have a clean v1.5 zencart with IH4. Each additional image only opens separately. Firefox and IE work differently as well. Firefox has black background on all images. IE has black on master image and opens additional images in a new white background window but without a close button.

Re: Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

Looks like there isn't any support for this thread or mod. Too bad, I'd rather use Slimbox than Lightbox, because of the faster and smaller load time and file size. Can anyone out there help all us who really love this mod and would love to see a fix for it? Thanks!

Re: Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

Just to let everyone know, when I put the additional images file from 2.1.0 with the files from 2.1.0a, BOTH image handler and FS are working with additional images showing.

You can see what mods are installed on the main page.

example at netzencommerceDOTcom/zc1

I'm sorry, but what does that even mean? I have a new zen store, that is run on zen 1.5, and installed the Fual Slimbox v2_1_0a. Like all the others here, I get all of my mulitiple pictures as I did before, but there is no Next button in the popup.

Are you saying I should go back and find an older version of Fual Slimbox v2_1_0, extract a single file: /includes/modules/classic (my template)/additional_images.php, and then upload it to overwrite the same file from the installation?

Is that the root of the problem, and if I can find this one file all will be well?

Re: Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

Well, I found the older file, and uploaded the file "additional_images.php" via FTP to the target, overwriting it.

I was happy as a clam to find that it worked. For about 10 seconds, until I clicked on the proud new "next" button. the screen went blank, I got that spinning java looking fan thing, and... nothing. I backed the browser, reloaded the page, and scrolled down farther to where he additional images were at the bottom. Yup, they were still there, all right. Clicked on one of them, and the slimbox screen appears, but fails to load any image. Go back to the main image at the top, and the same behavior... it loads no problem, showing a "next" button, but won't next to anything.

I went ahead and reloaded the newer .php file... while it doesn't work completely, at least it loads the graphic.

surely somebody knows how to fix this. Do I need to find the author of the mod and talk to him?

You mean the ORIGINAL author of Fual Slimbox???

Well.. according to his profile he hasn't been active on this site since 2008
"Last Activity - 13 Apr 2008 02:29 AM"

If you can find him and he is willing to help, then by all means you should try to contact the author.

Zen Cart (like this add-on) is open source.. Being that it is open source, and the fact that original author has not updated this add-on in quite some time, both dbltoe and myself took it upon ourselves to update this mod to work with current versions of Zen Cart.. If either one of us could correct the current issue we would.. Speaking for myself, I am truly not sure how to fix the current issue..

If you really want to use this mod, and cannot locate the original author, or if someone doesn't come along and post a solution, you have a few options:

  • Hire someone to fix this for you
  • Install a different lightbox altogether (Zen Lightbox works very well)
  • Live without the buttons

Re: Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

  • Sigh... *

Why is nothing ever easy?

I'm pretty proud of my store... been open for two months and have done all the work myself. The learning curve, however, has been a brick wall. Straight up.

[/rant]

So I'll seek out the Zen Lightbox and install it. Are there any particularities I should know about in going from one to the other?
Thank you for keeping me straight

Re: Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

Awesomeness!!!

That would be both YOU, Diva, and the Zen Lightbox, which WORKS flawlessly!

You know, one of the hard things about ZC is knowing what you don't know. I've got the big book, studied it closely. Got good at stuff.
Then you discover something (ostensibly) cool like Slimbox, but I'm starting (duh) to learn that before going with ANY mod around here, you've got to research it very carefully, to find if it isn't as cool as it seems.

I prefer Zen Lightbox because it just offers more options fo rhte lightbox effect.. The current maintainer of Zen Lightbox will be releasing a Colorbox add-on very soon (not to be confused with a different author's Colorbox add-on)

Though I don't use it anymore, Fual Slimbox is still a pretty cool simple lightbox add-on.. I'm sure someone will come along and post a solution to the current issue.. Honestly though even without the buttons it still works..

Re: Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

Sorry to be late to this thread. Been operating off an iPad while trying to get major computer meltdowns fixed.

The current issue is that the files were not compared properly when an addition was made to the code I submitted previously to this mod.

The additional images file submitted with 2.1.0a specifically blocks the extra images feature from happening.

IH, ZL, and FSB unfortunately use the same file to adjust the operation of additional images. Previously, all three worked well with each other.

Most of my backups are corrupt so it will take me a while to gather my data, but I will be working more on this. As DivaVocals says, FSB is a simple but effective add-on that should be available and operational for those that don't need fancy.

As DivaVocals says, FSB is a simple but effective add-on that should be available and operational for those that don't need fancy.Not sure what a proper comparison should have consisted of, but in testing FSB with IH4, I compared the additional_images.php file to the one that comes with Zen Lightbox using Beyond Compare (which is an excellent file comparison tool). That's when I noticed that the additional_images.php file that came with FSM v2.1.0 included code from older versions of Zen Cart (v1.3.8 and v1.3.9) including the obsolete "ereg_replace" function which was also removed from the default Zen Cart v1.5 version of the additional_images.php file.

That the "Next" and "Prev" buttons are no longer functioning was unintentional, and I am not entirely sure how that would be based on the changes I made.. I am pretty sure I didn't remove any key functions from this file.. Those of us testing FSB with IH4 did not pick this up, but I'm not sure any of us did anything more than to make sure that the lightbox effect showed when installing FSB with IH4.. So it's possible that we may not have realized that the "Next" and "Prev" buttons were no longer functioning.

That said restoring the old v2.1.0 file is not the total right answer either as it does indeed contain old code and deprecated functions..

Re: Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

hello, i would just like to add a correction for utf-8 chars like greek.
so, i installed in a zen cart 1.5.1, the last slimbox, and i found out that greek chars where not showing properly. if anyone else has the same problem, just edit the tpl_modules_main_product_image.php found in the folder** includes\templatesyour_template\templates/
**and edit the following lines to show utf-8 characters:
from

if( FUAL_SLIMBOX == 'true' || ZEN_LIGHTBOX_STATUS == 'true' ) {	// Set the title
	if ( $current_page_base == 'product_reviews' ) {
		$fual_slimbox_title = htmlentities($review->fields['products_name'],ENT_QUOTES);
	} else {
		$fual_slimbox_title = htmlentities($products_name,ENT_QUOTES);
	}

to

if( FUAL_SLIMBOX == 'true' || ZEN_LIGHTBOX_STATUS == 'true' ) {	// Set the title
	if ( $current_page_base == 'product_reviews' ) {
		$fual_slimbox_title = htmlentities($review->fields['products_name'],ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8');
	} else {
		$fual_slimbox_title = htmlentities($products_name,ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8');
	}

I don't believe this is needed if you have UTF annotated correctly in all the right places.

Re: Fual Slimbox Ver 2.0

Yay! Fixed the Next Prev buttons issue. Sorry it took so long and I appreciate that this may be irrelevant now but it may help someone out.

Find "includes/modules/your_template/additional_images.php

Replace the following code.....

* if (ZEN_LIGHTBOX_STATUS == 'true' || FUAL_SLIMBOX == 'true') {
if (ZEN_LIGHTBOX_GALLERY_MODE == 'true') {
$rel = 'lightbox-g';
} else {
$rel = 'lightbox';
}
$script_link = '<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"><!--' . "\n" . 'document.write(\'' . ($flag_display_large ? '<a href="' . zen_lightbox($products_image_large, addslashes($products_name), LARGE_IMAGE_WIDTH, LARGE_IMAGE_HEIGHT) . '" rel="' . $rel . '" title="' . addslashes($products_name) . '">' . $thumb_slashes . '<br />' . TEXT_CLICK_TO_ENLARGE . '</a>' : $thumb_slashes) . '\');' . "\n" . '//--></script>';

} else {

$script_link = '<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"><!--' . "\n" . 'document.write(\'' . ($flag_display_large ? '<a href="javascript:popupWindow(\\\'' . str_replace($products_image_large, urlencode(addslashes($products_image_large)), $large_link) . '\\\')">' . $thumb_slashes . '<br />' . TEXT_CLICK_TO_ENLARGE . '</a>' : $thumb_slashes) . '\');' . "\n" . '//--></script>';

}*

with
*
if (ZEN_LIGHTBOX_STATUS == 'true' || FUAL_SLIMBOX == 'true') {

$script_link = '<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"><!--' . "\n" . 'document.write(\'' . ($flag_display_large ? '<a href="' . zen_lightbox($products_image_large, addslashes($products_name), LARGE_IMAGE_WIDTH, LARGE_IMAGE_HEIGHT) . '" rel="lightbox[gallery]" title="' . addslashes($products_name) . '">' . $thumb_slashes . '<br />' . TEXT_CLICK_TO_ENLARGE . '</a>' : $thumb_slashes) . '\');' . "\n" . '//--></script>';

} else {

$script_link = '<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"><!--' . "\n" . 'document.write(\'' . ($flag_display_large ? '<a href="javascript:popupWindow(\\\'' . $large_link . '\\\')">' . $thumb_slashes . '<br />' . TEXT_CLICK_TO_ENLARGE . '</a>' : $thumb_slashes) . '\');' . "\n" . '//--></script>';

}*

Hope this helps someone out.

You need to re-post this and enclose your code using the proper forum codes for code.. As you can see the forum software parsed out your code and added smilies where none should be..

ETA: Nevermind.. Think I see what the smilie should be.. Will post code in proper forum codes to prevent parsing in a few..
