Redirect from old osc site to new zc site?

Morning All :)

I have searched and searched and cannot find a straight forward answer that I understand to do what I need to do.........

I have just migrated from OsCommerce to Zen Cart version 1.5, my site has a "main front end" part consisting of normal old HTML files then the online shop (now Zen Cart) runs in its own shop directory. OsCommerce worked in a similar way.

Yesterday I changed around 300 links on the main front end of the site that pointed to the old OsCommerce install, I think I got them all however I cannot be 100% sure and obviously I have no control over external links still pointing to the old cart.

I want to set up a redirect so if any file is called in the old OsCommerce cart it will automatically re-direct to the index.php page of my zen cart install.

Can anyone provide me with an idiots guide to do this? The simpler the better :unsure:

What was the folder name of your osC? If different from your ZC folder name, you can keep the old (empty) folder with just one index.php file in it, containing a 301 redirect to your new store folder. I posted yesterday with a link to a copy of this file. You would just need to change it to refer to the new subfolder instead of the domain root.

Funnily enough this happened this afternoon, no idea how brand new customer bought from the old store :no:

OSCommerce was in https://www.dadeddadedda.com/cart
Zen Cart is now in https://www.dadedadeda.com/shop

I will have a go at changing the details in the post you have pointed me to see if I can get it to work :)
