Re: Why can't I show multiple images?

  1. Check what this is set to
    Admin->Catalog->Product Types->Product General->Edit Layout->Show Additional Images

  2. Provide a link to a product page where additional images should be showing, and tell us the name of the product image

  3. are you sure the images are named correctly in cluding the filetype extension being in the same case, for instance

these will work
image.jpg
image_1.jpg

these will work
image.JPG
image_1.JPG

These wont (note different cases of file extension)

image.JPG
image_1.jpg

Re: Why can't I show multiple images?

Stevesh - I added the products to the 'fire alarm' skirt - the image file that is showing is 'red.JPG' and I've put another file in the same directory called 'red_01.JPG', but it doesn't appear anywhere.

nigelt74 -

  1. is set to 1 (true)
  2. Here's the product I have added another image to: http://jibadoo.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=180
The item not showing up is the 'red_01.JPG'
  3. Yup, in both cases the red is in lower case and the .JPG is in upper case. The joiner thing is an underscore (not dash), and the 01 is numeric not O the letter (not sure if that would have made any difference)

I have a stock by attribute add-on installed, not sure if that would make any difference.

Thanks for looking!

Where (what folder) did you place the additional image ?

In the main images file, ie. public_html/j ibadoo.com.au/images. Both the 'red.JPG' and the 'red_01.JPG' files are in there.

Re: Why can't I show multiple images?

@stevesh

I'll confirm both images are there, although neither image is optimised, I wonder if that would cause the additional images script to time out?

Re: Why can't I show multiple images?

Ive never found naming the second image with a 1 worked.

So Ive always done red.jpg, red2.jpg, red3.jpg.

Make sure your image names are all in the same sentence case (jpg vs JPG)

Simple.

This hasn't worked :(

I've renamed the files to red.jpg and red2.jpg, still no luck.

nigelt74 I've just downloaded an image optimiser, I'll see how that goes.

Re: Why can't I show multiple images?

I've now done the whole med and lge images thing as follows:

in the main images file, I now have the main file in
images/pettiskirt/red.jpg (also have red2.jpg in here)
images/large/pettiskirt/red_LGE.jpg (also have red2_LGE.jpg)
images/medium/pettiskirt/red_MED.jpg (also have red2_MED.jpg)

I still can't see red2 anywhere :(

Any ideas???

Re: Why can't I show multiple images?

Have you tried switching temporarily to the Classic template to see if it's a template thing ?

Re: Why can't I show multiple images?

Your product_info_display file is crashing when it attempts to pull up the additional images.

Go to a page that you havent added any add images to, and do a view source of the page - its complete.

Now go to a page with additional images and view source, the code stops when it hits the additional images code. If you look at the page you will notice your footer is missing as the page crashed.

Check you're not missing any files.

Cool, just tried that - same problem in classic.

Of course, in mucking about I also tried the first two lines of this:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1111089 and now there's no image showing at all - argh! I've deleted the file now but it's still stuffed.

dgent - thanks, that sounds like a start... any idea what sort of files I should be looking for? I'm not a programmer at all :(

I'm not seeing that on the page callmeal provided a link to (product 180). The whole page is there (in IE8 and FF10, anyway). The additional images section is empty though (

<!--bof Additional Product Images --> <!--eof Additional Product Images -->

)
which made me think it was a path or image naming problem.

Re: Why can't I show multiple images?

Ok so... because of killing pictures completely I went back to the site where I had version 1.3.9 installed, and found that the additional images thing actually works over here

http://jibadoo.com.au/products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=2

Does that in any way help diagnose what's wrong in my 1.5 version?

And does anybody know how I could get the images back again in the original page - I just seem to be making everything worse!

Re: Why can't I show multiple images?

Uh oh. Whatever I did, the configuration menu in zc admin is also killed, format wise.

Oh dear.

Edited to add: Ignore the above. I am now all sorted and back to my original level of dysfunction - all working except the additional images again!

Re: Why can't I show multiple images?

Has anybody had any trouble getting additional images to work in version 1.5? I installed in from scratch, not an upgrade. My additional images work in 1.3.9 but not 1.5 !

I'm just wondering whether other people have had this issue - and if not, do you have a working site with additional images using 1.5, that I could see in case I can spot some difference?

Re: Why can't I show multiple images?

I'm stumped as to why you can't get your additional images to appear, but the do work in 1.5.0. Here is a stock, no mods fresh 1.5.0 installation with demo products installed:

Youre right, it doesnt now. But It did when I went to the red petticoat on his site.

File wise....

includes/modules/additional_images.php

and in your templates folder tpl_modules_additional_images.php

Arg, so that means it's not a 1.5 problem either.

You might have gone on there while I was fiddling around trying to fix things!

I've re-loaded the
includes/modules/additional_images.php

And I had to delete the
tpl_modules_additional_images.php file to get things working again... it didn't seem to be in there first time (though maybe I just missed it).

Maybe I'll try reloading that one from my template - although I guess classic view should still have worked :(
