If you changed templates, then you will need to carry over applicable override files. (Reinstall, copy, follow the documentation, etc.) A number of ways to get there, depending on your experience and capability. I would routinely just identify which files existed in the old template that should exist in the new template (ie I installed them) and copy them over to the new template. Also see the override directory postings in the forum/FAQ. The above are suggestions, incorrectly applying them could cause harm to your site, Backup, backup, backup and test before using on your live site.

Oh yeah, the other thing could be that the template is not properly calling images; however, it does appear that the bmz_cache is being used, so to some extent iH is being used/called.

As for images on the products, only additional images would be enlarged (compared to a base ZC install) as the image displayed for a product is a medium image and as explained in the documentation, medium images are not resized. (History as to why is in this thread and elsewhere.)

thank you I got most of it working now my question is on the front page at the bottom in the middle are the featured and new tabs .. and have thumbs ( 150x150) I would like them to zoom as well is this possible .. I know it works as the ones in the size bar zoom now.

My next question which is kind of on the same topic .. is that the image on the product page as click to enlarge under it yet when you click it . It opens and makes the window and the size 150x150 yet if you drag the window up to the set size in the settings the large picture is there .. How do I set the window size to fit the large picture ( 640 ) as the large size .

hi. was trying install on my dev site for testing but the install fails. my guess is because the mapping of files is going to my root site instead of my dev folder. how/where/what do i need to change so the files will map to my /dev folder instead of the root? if that is indeed the issue.... thx.

Some Image Handler files do not exist. Perhaps you have uploaded them incorrectly? Or the permissions are set incorrectly? |

The error message is quite clear.. the installer did not detect the required files..

If you have a properly configured Zen Cart store, and follow the install instructions, IH4 will work.. If your store is configured in some different manner, you need to resolve that issue.. this support thread is not the place to resolve that issue as it is pretty much not related to IH4.. Start a new thread to get help with your store configuration..

For BOTH issues.. you need to reevaluate your settings and make sure you have uploaded ALL the files.. the homepage tabs CLEARLY don not have thumbnails set at the same size as the sizeboxes. So that tells me you do not have all the image settings that the readme recommends to get the image hover to work..

With that said, I am wondering if there is a way to replace the images I have in there? I'm wanting to create a new watermarked photo to REPLACE my current product photos. Would I have to resize all of them manually myself, or is there a way to load them into IH4 and have the image replaced? Would I need to go into the product page to do this?

It is a little difficult to identify what it is you are trying to do/having a problem with. Are you wanting to just change the watermark that can be automatically applied to all photos in your site, or are you wanting to replace a photo say for one particular product (that just happens to have a watermark already applied)?

If not mistaken and it may also depend on other cache related settings for the first one, whether required or not, I would upload the watermark and then in the admin panel for IH4 I would reset the cache or forgive me for not remembering the exact term, but basically force the cache'd photos to be recreated (which would force the merge of the watermark). For the second action (replace a photo), that's in the documentation, simply upload the photo using the IH4 panel to replace the photo(s) to be replaced. There are some workarounds if having to do this for multiple pictures, but those introduce the possibility of something going really wrong. Would suggest to stick with what works.

Like mc12345678, I'm not clear on what you are asking to do.. So let me say this.. IF you are asking is there some way to BULK replace all the product images with NEW product images using Image Handler the answer is NO. and a read through the Image Handle readme would have answered this question since there is no mention of any such feature.. That said as per the Image Handler readme, you can upload product image via FTP provided they use the SAME names as the existing images. You will need to clear the Image Handler cache, and Image Handler will re-generate all of the image optimized image sizes (small medium and small). If you are replacing the watermark, you will need to clear the Image Handler cache so that new images will be generated with the new watermarks.

If you have new images with NEW file names, you will have to modify EACH product to upload the new images, and you will have to clean out your image folder manually to remove the old images.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough.

I created the watermarks myself so I probably shouldn't have mentioned that, as I forgot that IH4 can generate watermarks. I can see where that might have caused confusion.

I simply want to make new images and have them replace the images I have now, and (hopefully) have IH4 generate the sizes I need.

So to do this I would need to save the new images with the exact original name I used, upload them to my image folder via FTP, and then go into the zen cart IH4 admin to clear the cache and it should generate the resized images like it did originally? I sure hope I don't need to go in and update every single product individually as I have almost 1000 that I would have to sort through. :-(

It almost seems like something is not setup correctly outside of this "recent" function call. Did the setup work before you changed the admin path? What makes you think this new setup is going to prevent the same problem from happening again? There is something else that needs to be changed to prevent reoccurrence, and it is probably not associated with IH4.

If I understand correctly you upgraded from Zen Cart 1.3.9 to 1.5.1, and installed IH4.. It's not working.. The most common reason is that IH4 is installed incorrectly.. Suggest rolling back and re-installing IH4..

While on fourth read of the original question, I now understand the issue as diva vocals has reexpressed it, I apologize for my error above.

Should these OLD.IH4 files be deleted after install or upgrade? Do they cause security problems?

No.. they are there so that if you uninstall it can restore the previous version of the files.. (their purpose is explained in the readme..)

Thanks, just was not clear if they still "could" be a security problem. One could always upload them again before uninstall if need be. But if they cause no harm, I'll leave them alone.
