Abbington Mega Template [Support Thread]

Hi Anne,
Thank you again for the wonderful template. I have recently run into a problem where bots are sending spam (about every two minutes) via the Website Enquiry (contact us) form. I did some digging on the forum and ran across the post below, but I'm wondering if the Mega template uses different files other than the ones mentioned. I made all the changes per the instructions below, but we are still receiving the spam as if I made no changes at all.

Here is the information and changes I made from another post:

started getting a lot of spam recently via my "contact us" form. looked all over this forum and did not find a decent solution, so i started googling around.. Found this site:
nfriedly.com/techblog/2009/11/how-to-build-a-spam-free-contact-forms-without-captchas/

and was able to get their solutions working with zen cart.
here are the changes that i had to make:

file: /store/includes/templates/your_template/templates/tpl_contact_us_default.php
need to add the invisible label and input field to the contact us form.

old code:
PHP Code:

<fieldset id="contactUsForm"> new code: PHP Code: <fieldset id="contactUsForm"> <label class="inputLabel" style="display:none;" >Leave this empty:</label> <input name="url" style="display:none;" />

file: /store/includes/modules/pages/contact_us/header.php
need to check if this invisible url input field in the form has been filled out. Only send the message if the hidden field is blank.

old code:
PHP Code:
// Send message
zen_mail($send_to_name, $send_to_email, EMAIL_SUBJECT, $text_message, $name, $email_address, $html_msg,'contact_us');
new code:
PHP Code:
// Send message
// if the url field is not set or set and is empty
if( !isset($_POST['url']) || ((isset($_POST['url']) && $_POST['url'] == ''))){
zen_mail($send_to_name, $send_to_email, EMAIL_SUBJECT, $text_message, $name, $email_address, $html_msg,'contact_us');
}

Does the captcha you added show on the contact form in the drop down? You can always hide the header contact form by adding:

.contactus-li{display:none;}

to the stylesheet_mega_menu.css file.

Thanks,

Anne

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Abbington Mega Template [Support Thread]

Alrighty then, I have everything fixed I broke during our spam attack with the exception of our hovering "Contact Us" form. If you click on the "Contact Us" and fill out the built in form, it works perfectly. However, if you fill out the quick form that pops up when you hover, the email is never sent and it takes you to the 404 page... Can anyone tell me where I messed this up?

Re: Abbington Mega Template [Support Thread]

Is there anyway to add CAPTCHA to the drop down "Contact Us" form on the mega-menu?
I have it working on the regular "Contact Us" form, but if you fill out the drop down and hit submit
it goes to the regular form and gives an error "You did not enter the proper code"and you have to re-type your message.
Any help would be appreciated. ( I am using the TTF CAPTCHA Plugin from the Zen-Cart Plug ins.

Re: Abbington Mega Template [Support Thread]

Hello Anne,

I would like to add my congratulations for a STUNNING template and most importantly EXCEPTIONAL readme file(s) - the instructions are faultless (I only wish the instructions for most other plug-ins were half as good, it would save gazillions of man hours in here by many :) ).

One question - I am in the process of doing a logo image and I am hopeless at such things so I do not know if I will be able to achieve a transparent image - so what is the 6 digit colour code for the colour of the header area where the logo goes (and indeed the page background) - the closest I can get is #EFEFEF

cheers,
Mike

p.s. once I have filled the site with our stunning sterling silver jewellery on your superb colour scheme I will add it to your Facebook page.

For some reason, when you click on Customer Service the text goes off the page. How do I correct this?

Re: Abbington Mega Template [Support Thread]

Hello again Anne,

I now have your wonderful template working on my site - it looks great (http://www.dazzlers.net.au) if you want to take a peek.

I made a number of modifications following your extremely good instructions however there is one thing I cannot find - turning off the quantities next to categories in the category box. In the admin/configuration/ layout settings there is no line there for turning category count on or off (I believe there was in my custom template admin settings) .... so where have I missed that tweak section??

many thanks,
Mike

p.s. I am going to do some mods to the product info page - primarily add in the additional images code - I was just going to copy the code from my previous tpl_product_display_info.php file and insert it .... that should work shouldn't it ?

Re: Abbington Mega Template [Support Thread]

oooops

p.s. I am going to do some mods to the product info page - primarily add in the additional images code - I was just going to copy the code from my previous tpl_product_display_info.php file and insert it .... that should work shouldn't it ?

In going to tpl_product_display_info.php I noticed that the code for Additional Images was indeed there and on my product pages I can see vertical dotted lines being the image separators I presume. However I am not getting any additional images to show whereas they do on my custom template.

In configuration / images I have number of rows for additional images set to 5 (which I would neatly get across the centre 'box' area in my custom template which co-incidentally is the same width in this template) ... this template is set to 3 columns, how can I modify it so that my images show (preferably all in one line, maybe changing the image separators from 2 to 4 ?? and if so where / how ... or should I be looking elsewhere to solve this problem? Image size is variable by height (unfortunately) but standard width of 100px.

Looking forward to your input on this and the above category count issue.

cheers,
Mike

You can turn off the quantities next to the category names in admin--configuration--my store.

If all of the modules installed on your old site are the same as the new site then you might be able to copy the file over.

Thanks,

Anne

If you do a search in the FAQ's section you will find information on how to correctly name your images so that zen cart will pick them up as additional images.

You can set the number of additional images per row in Admin > Configuration > Images

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Abbington Mega Template [Support Thread]

I also suggest installing Image Handler which has a nice admin interface for managing additional images.. This should allow shags to upload additional images and IH4 will take care of properly naming them.

Re: Abbington Mega Template [Support Thread]

Hi Ladies,

I do have Image Handler installed. I have additional images loading fine in my custom template (see the site in my signature). The site to which I added Abbington Mega is an exact copy, exact duplicate of the store in my signature however I decided to use Abbington Mega template which I thing is stunning. Before adding AM the additional images were working fine.

I have the settings set at 5 additional images per row but upon seeing the 3 column structure I changed it to 3 but to no effect. In my signature site I modified tpl_product_info_display to bring the additional images to under the main product image and 5 across sat neatly.

I actually changed the position of the code for display images to be under Products Detail List and the 'blank' space shows up as a bigger area than it was and now with one(1) vertical dotted divider but still no images. No matter where I put the code the images do not show.

Additionally I have lost functionality of Zen Lightbox, e.g. clicking on larger image opens a new window instead of the the lightbox - and it doesn't auto zoom with mouse hover (again refer to my signature site) - the configuration settings for Zen Lightbox are the same on both sites (as you would expect being exact clones).

I have tried a few things but to no avail. I guess the commonality is 'images' control. Everything else is Top Stuff !!! :)

Any ideas as to what I should look at to solve the problem? ..... note that I am using v1.3.9h and IH3 ... the site is https://www.dazzlers.net.au

cheers,
Mike
