Flexible Return Authorization (RMA) for ZC v1.5.x [Support Thread]

Hi Guys. Great plugin however is there an SQL install file?

If so mine seems to be missing from the folder.

When I go to the admin area I get this: WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again.

I have gone through, checked all the files, edited names accordingly but still get the same message.

Their is no SQL file, it is packaged with an auto-installer for v1.5.x

What version Zen Cart are you using?

What does the error return in your error logs?

The current version sends the data to customer and shop owner via email with the exception of the order_status and reason text for return.

The current version is missing the configuration to return the reason text as comments

Running the following SQL patch will add that configuration:

Right, the patch I posted I entered in admin > tools > install sql patches

Also correct - the contents of the form ONLY get emailed to the admin, not the customer. Why would it, they know their information. LOL

This version simply added admin "options" to an existing simple form submit mod. It is a work in progress and still has allot of potential, it's just finding the time.

I am on vacation in Vegas and between enjoying this wonderful atmosphere, communicating with those back in NY and trying to be helpful, not getting much sleep.

The sql code I posted is wrong, this should work, I hope: :blush:

Replace **GROUP_ID **with the configurations group id

you can find in the browser url by clicking on configuration > return authorization

oh my bad. first time using zen cart - have only used oscommerce previously.

I have tried installing this update via sql patch.. seems to go thru fine, (even with the group_id change) - however the option does not appear on the admin page.

Order#'s 2,3,5 have been set to deny form submission based on the (Completed/Shipped) order status set in the RMA configuration.

For COWOA customers, the form does not populate customer info for security reasons.

If you log in using the email and pass provided, change the email to your own on the RMA form page to receive the Customer RMA# Confirmation Email to check out the changes made to accommodate new process.

I will not give out access to the admin so please don't ask but I have included a screenshot of what gets returned to the orders>edit page (this is the only CORE file that needs to be merged if already altered, all the rest of the files use the override structure)

As you can see v1.2 now returns the "Action Requested" and merges it with the Comments Column and the "RMA Number" to its own column. The only 3 fields on the form that aren't already provided in the orders>edit page.

Remember this is a demo and the layout is altered for the responsive design.

Allot has changed in v1.2 (to many to list here) but we have updated the installation file and provided tips & tricks to configure admin and change things as you see fit. DivaVocals and I have allot more functions and (if) scenarios we plan to do with this plugin as the active contributors.

Here is v1.2, I have uploaded it to the plugin section also.

Fixes for v1.1

1. Updated the auto install file to include missing configuration to return "Reason for Return" to admin>orders>edit>comments

New Features in v1.2

1. The Returns Page is no longer being accessed directly.
2. Order info gathering: A customer or COWOA customer is now taken to a new page (Return Authorization Request) where they can login or lookup order for which the item is on to request a RMA#.
   For less confusion, customers that login are taken right to their (My Account > History) page where they are prompted on how to Request a RMA#.
   COWOA customers are taken right to the (Order Information) page for the Order Number they entered.
3. Completed Order Status: A new configuration has been added so you can set the (Order Status) for completed/shipped orders.
   3A. The Date Added for Completed Order Status is used to allow/deny RMA Request submissions.
4. Returns Grace Period: A new configuration has been added to enter the amount of days that you allow your customers to return items.
   4A. The value (example "30") will represent a 30 Day return policy. If the order in question is older than 30 days it will disable form submission and prompt customer to contact store otherwise it will allow submission for a RMA#.
5. RMA Popup Package Label: Upon Success of the RMA# Request Form, the customer is directed to a success page where they are issued a RMA# and instruction to return items along with a link to a Popup Package Label with Returns Address and RMA#.
6. RMA# Grace Period: A new configuration has been added to enter the amount of days before the RMA# expires.
   6A. The value (example "15") will represent 15 Days, this value is included in the email confirmation sent to the customer.
7. Customer Email: We added the RMA# to the subject line and changed the text to reflect the new RMA process.
8. Admin Email: We changed display so it was easier to read.
9. DateBase Columns Added: We added (2) database columns to orders_status_history to save RMA# and Reason for Return.
10. Admin Orders Edit Page: We merged the Reason for Return with the comments and added a RMA# column next to the comments column.

90% of the requests have been answered and implemented, it is all in the way you make your request. LOL

Please see this thread for I am hoping to release early Oct.

This has actually been asked a few times, after serious consideration I chose to exclude that option from this version.

Most retailers add linkable tracking to the order comments for ease of access and I felt adding to many fields to the form would just frustrate the end user (customer), also the reason I added admin options to not display all the fields within the form.

To recap, the additions already added to this plugin
1.) Admin controls to set all form fields as "Optional", "Required" or "Do Not Display" with the exception of the "Action Requested and Reason Text fields".
2.) Admin controls to show "Stores Address" or use a different "Returns Address" for the Success Output page.
3.) Success Output page Auto generates a RMA# (Order ID - Customer ID - Date) if customer is logged in and comes comes from the My Account > Order History Info page.
4.) Success Output page Auto generates a RMA# (Order ID - Date) if customer is not logged in.
5.) Admin controls to display error messages as inline or via messagestack.
6.) Auto updates Order Status in admin upon Success.
7.) Auto updates Returns Reason under Order Comments in admin upon Success.
8.) Adds a Request RMA Button or Link to the My Account > Order History Info page.
9.) Adds input field in admin for the Link text that you want displayed on the My Account > Order History Info page.
10.) Auto populates customer's information when logged in.
11.) Auto populates Order ID field if customer comes from the My Account > Order History Info page.

I have just installed this plug in and its a great feature
everything is good exept one thing when a customer clicks on print the pop up comes up but no RMA# number comes up
all i get is store logo
store address
RMA#
Print
isnt the RMA number be after RMA# if so how do i fix it so it is?
