Product Delivery by Postcode (PDP) - [Support]

Hi Frank18...

i have a question...

you mentioned that "If a customer states a delivery address which is within the range of the configured postcodes then these 2 shipping modules will be available during the checkout process. If the delivery address is outside the specified range then the customer can not choose any of the 2 shipping options." in the readme.html

but i can still choose 2 shipping options..

my Postcode Allowed is 75057.. but i can choose 2 shipping option even though i loged in as a member with postcode 12345.

Is it right? could you check attached file? if you see you can understand...

thank you have a good one and then let me know...what problem is on me..Attachment 14835

A few things:

  1. Did you uninstall the Store Pickup module before you uploaded the new/modified files? If not, then your DB entries are wrong.

  2. Were all files merged properly?

  3. If you define the same allowed postcode in BOTH shipping modules (Local Delivery Only and Store Pickup) then both methods will be available.

Re: Product Delivery by Postcode (PDP) - [Support]

I have an issue that doesn't seem to have been explicitly addressed. Most of my products can be delivered anywhere, whether local or long distances.

But one category of my products (firearms) can only be picked up in-store. No home delivery, (local or not) because in-store in-person background checks are required for the intended recipient.

So rather than a local delivery based upon the customer's shipping location, I need to make shipping options based upon product category and then do one of two things for a given customer:

  1. Display in-store pickup option and disable shipping option based upon product category (firearms)

If there's a way to sort on multiple parameters, then:

  1. For product category "firearms" display only in-store pickup option and disable shipping option for local residents, based upon local postal code in customer account profile.
  2. For product category "firearms" where postal code does not equal %locallist% display custom verbiage to make arrangements for shipping to send it to their local firearms dealer.

That would require custom coding, PDP is not designed to handle your scenario.

Re: Product Delivery by Postcode (PDP) - [Support]

PDP has been updated to work with ZC 1.5.4.

Minor changes to 2 files (includes/modules/shipping/storepickup.php and includes/modules/shipping/localdelivery.php) to match current ZC 1.5.4 code

Got a problem with taxes in 1.5.4. I found this as well with another mod. It doesn't charge taxes anymore. Can you test that out?

Let me get back to you with this one. I realized something that may make this post incorrect but may not know for a day or so. Thanks for answering so promptly.

Re: Product Delivery by Postcode (PDP) - [Support]

@delia

Ok - still up and tested this on a local server.

Environment:

ZC 1.5.4

Server OS: Linux 3.16.0-28-generic Database: MySQL 5.5.41-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
Server Date: 12/03/2015 00:46:17 Database Date: 12/03/2015 00:46:17
Server Up Time: Disabled/Unavailable HTTP Server: Apache/2.4.7 (Ubuntu)
PHP Version: 5.5.9-1ubuntu4.6 (Zend: 2.5.0) PHP Memory Limit: 128M PHP Safe Mode: Off

Product value 43.10 - taxable at 10% (tax is included in price - as per Australian law)

Disabled PDP altogether (no Store Pickup nor Local Delivery) and selected Aus Post as shipping method (7.50 charge)

Products in cart show a tax of 4.60 which is correct

Then enabled Store Pickup and selected this at checkout (no delivery charge)

Products in cart show a tax of 3.92 (correct)

Then enabled Local Delivery as well (delivery charge is 5.00) and selected this method

Products in cart show a tax of 4.37 (also correct)

So, the upshoot is that the 1.5.4 version of Store Pickup shows the correct taxes and same goes for PDP when Local Delivery is enabled.

Hope this helps

Re: Product Delivery by Postcode (PDP) - [Support]

Hello!
Thank you for this great plugin!

Here is my problem :
When i have an item with the flag "Local Delivery Only", I see in the cart 2 options (Canada Post & Local Delivery) and it should only be Local Delivery.
After, in the checkout process, I only see the Canada Post option. (No more Local Delivery)

I saw in this thread that some shipping module could be in conflict with this one, so i added this line to includes/functions/functions_general.php

// if product is local delivery only - disable Canada Post
      case ($check_cart_local and $shipping_module == 'canadapost'):
        return false;
        break;

Like frank18 said

frank18:

I have been made aware that there could be a clash between PDP and the UK Royal Mail shipping module on some sites.

If this affects your (UK) site you need to modify includes/functions/functions_general.php

In that file find this code

// if product is local delivery only - disable all other modules
case ($check_cart_local and $shipping_module != 'localdelivery' || $shipping_module != 'storepickup'):
return false;
break;

>
> then right after that you need to add
>
> ```php
// if product is local delivery only - disable Royal Mail first
case ($check_cart_local and $shipping_module == 'rmfirst'):
return false;
break;
// if product is local delivery only - disable Royal Mail second
case ($check_cart_local and $shipping_module == 'rmsecond'):
return false;
break;

But then, i realized 2 things in this file...
First, $shipping_module is **never **equal to 'localdelivery', which means the function never gets called with the param 'localdelivery'.
Second, this line never returns true.

$check_cart_local = $_SESSION['cart']->in_cart_check('product_is_local_delivery','1');

I did some digging and found out that in the other files, like tpl_checkout_shipping_default.php, this exact line works...

In the install, in followed the instructions to the letter with the uninstall of the Store Pickup module.
Also, i get the same result when i deactivate the Canada Post shipping module but in the checkout page it says that i don't have any option of shipping!

Your feedback is much appreciated.

B-Noid:

Here is my problem :

I found the problem!

The Canada Post shipping module didn't use the function zen_get_shipping_enabled properly... I made the necessary modification within the Canada Post module.

I will post the modification on the Canada Post thread.

Have a good one!

Thanks for posting your findings. PDP has been 'humming along' for quite some time without hiccups, I would have been very surprised if your issue was not related to another shipping module. Incidentally, what is your ZC version?

Re: Product Delivery by Postcode (PDP) - [Support]

Hi hoping to get some pointers here before installing...want to make sure this plugin can do what I need.

I need to set up UK & international shipping...I don't need any free local delivery, but I need to differentiate between Uk counties/Post codes as shown below.

Parcel Force 24
AB, AL, B, BA, BB, BD, BH, BL, BN, BR, BS, CA, CB, CF, CH, CM, CO, CR, CT, CV, CW, DA, DD, DE, DG, DH, DL, DN, DT, DY, E, EC, EH, EN, EX, FK, FY, G, GL, GU, HA, HD, HG, HP, HR, HU, HX, IG, IP, KT, KY, L, LA, LD, LE, LL, LN, LS, LU, M, ME, MK, ML, N, NE, NG, NN, NP, NR, NW, OL, OX, PE, PL, PO, PR, RG, RH, RM, S, SA, SE, SG, SK, SL, SM, SN, SO, SP, SR, SS, ST, SW, SY, TA, TD, TF, TN, TQ, TS, TW, UB, W, WA, WC, WD, WF, WN, WR, WS, WV, YO
0 to 25000g(s)£8.00

HS, IV, KA, KW, PA, PH, ZE
0 to 25000g(s)£16.50

TR, IM, BT
0 to 25000g(s)£18.50

PO30-41
0 to 25000g(s)£11.50

is this possible with the PDP?

thanks

Interesting question.

Can PDP be used 'out of the box' for your requirement?

The short answer is no as PDP allows for one single array (eg Parcel Force 24) but not for multiple arrays. IOW, PDP would need to be re-written to do what you want it to do, although some of the code can be used to do this.

Re: Product Delivery by Postcode (PDP) - [Support]

Would there be a reason that this would not work in Version 1.5.5e. It is a clean install with just a couple plug ins added. The Local Delivery and Free Shipping work just as advertised, I am just trying to limit when Local delivery is available as an option. I pasted the code in just as described in this post and set the $ value to 250 the same as my free shipping option, but the local delivery option still shows up in delivery options.

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks
