Still looking for the extra /div

I did find an on line code checker here that makes it quick and easy to check for div (and other) non matches

I meant the extra /div that is causing my layout to break for products with attributes.

Re: Responsive DIY Template Default for v1.5.x

I have decided to stop trying to find the extra /div that causes the right column problem on product pages with attributes.
I have simply moved all my sideboxes from the right column to the left.

Just one of my many changes to make my web site look more like a telephone screen; what a dumb idea to base everything on a telephone! Talk about the tail wagging the dog!!

I have looked and looked also but seeing how it is happening only on product pages with attributes. Have you installed a mod that alters the attributes layout?

Thanks

I have installed the addon "quantities by option" but no other attributes layout changes (at least not intentionally). :)

Please use the Responsive Template Conversion Framework to convert existing templates to responsive ones. (ALSO being uploaded today!) Only requires 2 files to be merged.

3.0FREE is complete and will be upload by days end

Hi there rbarbour,

I've been a dormant Zenner for far too long & am getting my feet wet again. I'd love to use your template. Do you still plan on uploading the new version 3.0 & if so, when?

Much Thanks!

Christina

Re: Responsive DIY Template Default for v1.5.x

What a terrific template. I would like to add slim menu to have a responsive compatible drop down. Can you give some tips on the best way to go about this.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I do not personally use slimMenu but several of picaflor-azul templates include it, you may want to download one of those to see how Anne implements it.

Re: Responsive DIY Template Default for v1.5.x

I completely missed this post, I apologize.

Unfortunately I do not plan to update this version any further. I do plan to update the readme.txt to better help those using it and document it better but that will only happen if time permits.

Re: Responsive DIY Template Default for v1.5.x

I've tried merging the responsive template with my current site and I've hit a speedbump (or bumps, not sure).

I've followed the instructions on page 20 of this thread as best I could and when I load my site I've got a mostly blank homepage that has the correct background image, "Home" and "Log In" on the top followed by the message "Error! Unable to determine the page link!" When I snoop around the rest of my site appears to be there (the css is off, of course).

I'm really hoping somebody knows what's wrong and that it's an easy fix. Can somebody point me in the right direction?

I've reloaded my backup so my site actually works (https://www.shakatourshawaii.com) so you won't actually be able to see a live version of what's wrong. But if it helps I did grab the source code of what it spit out on the home page:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

Thanks, I've never even looked there before so already this has been a learning experience.

I get this error returned 3 times:

[21-Jul-2015 15:11:52 America/Phoenix] PHP Fatal error: 1054:Unknown column 'show_box_min_width' in 'field list' :: select layout_box_name, show_box_min_width from layout_boxes where layout_box_location = 0 and layout_box_status= '1' and layout_template ='shakatours' order by layout_box_sort_order in /home/content/46/8005846/html/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 120

Did you run the included SQL file in admin > tools > install sql patches?

I did run sql_new_install.sql by going to admin > tools > install sql patches (I browsed for the file then hit the upload button and did get confirmation that something happened). I can try it again but I'm reloading a backup right now because I flubbed something and killed my site.

Re: Responsive DIY Template Default for v1.5.x

Ok, so I've gone through again and run through the steps:

Merging with existing Template

  1. (RENAME) the YOUR_ADMIN_FOLDER folder to your (actual) admin folder name.

  2. (BACKUP) this file. - /YOUR_ADMIN_FOLDER/layout_controller.php

  3. (UPLOAD) the admin folder and all it's files.

  4. (RUN) the new_install.sql file in Admin > Tools > Install SQL Patches.

  5. (MERGE) the below files with your existing template files, if these files don't exist in your template folders then simply upload these files.

/includes/templates/responsive_template_default/common/
"tpl_box_default_left.php" (2 additions)
"tpl_box_default_right.php" (2 additions)
"tpl_footer.php" (1 edit)
"tpl_header.php" (1 edit, 2 additions)
"tpl_main_page.php" (6 additions)
"html_header.php" (3 additions)

/includes/modules/responsive_template_default/
"column_left.php" (1 edit, 1 addition)
"column_right.php" (1 edit, 1 addition)

  1. (UPLOAD) the remaining folders and all their files for they are unique to this package. Renaming responsive_template_default to YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME

\includes\templates\responsive_template_default\css\ files
\includes\auto_loaders\ files
\includes\classes\ files
\includes\init_includes\ files

  1. (Go-To) Admin > Configuration > Layout Settings.

Here, you will see a new configuration "ACTIVATE Responsive Template", change the value to "1" to activate the responsive code.

  1. With any template, some CSS tweaks will be needed.

  2. Happy Designing!

Newest version will hopefully be uploaded by weeks end which includes detailed install instructions, moves "examples" from files and into an examples folder, adds additional CSS support for tables on several pages, better documented files for merging and adding the DIY code.

I wish I could make this easier but nothing worth doing is.

and I'm getting the same thing. Well, almost the same thing, but now I'm not getting an error log for some reason. It appears as if it's just my home page that's not loading correctly. I see the "I see this is a desktop" on a desktop when I navigate elsewhere on my site and when I use my phone it says I'm using a mobile so that appears to be working. The styles are all off but I'm sure that's on my end, I haven't edited those yet really. But whenever I try to get the home page I get the Error Unable to Load page error.

I'm going to try again tomorrow morning, maybe with a fresh copy, unless anybody has any idea what's wrong or where I should be looking?

Re: Responsive DIY Template Default for v1.5.x

ok it might be a stupid question but I'm just double-checking in case it is what's messing everything up for me.

  1. (MERGE) the below files with your existing template files, if these files don't exist in your template folders then simply upload these files.

/includes/templates/responsive_template_default/common/
"tpl_box_default_left.php" (2 additions)
"tpl_box_default_right.php" (2 additions)
"tpl_footer.php" (1 edit)
"tpl_header.php" (1 edit, 2 additions)
"tpl_main_page.php" (6 additions)
"html_header.php" (3 additions)

/includes/modules/responsive_template_default/
"column_left.php" (1 edit, 1 addition)
"column_right.php" (1 edit, 1 addition)

I should in fact be merging these files into my own template (/includes/templates/MY_TEMPLATE/common) and not be creating a new directory (includes/templates/responsive_template_default/common/) ?

Re: Responsive DIY Template Default for v1.5.x

So you announced "3.0FREE is complete and will be upload by days end" and then "Unfortunately I do not plan to update this version any further."

So you completed 3.0 and then abandoned it? Or by "further" you mean no further than 3.0? But then where is 3.0?

Just trying to make sure I start with the latest, whatever it is. At this point I haven't downloaded anything.

Re: Responsive DIY Template Default for v1.5.x

Sorry for the confusion

As I worked to improve this package it simply became a new and improved animal, which making the upgrade would simple be to problematic for those using it for it has been simplified removing over 16 of the files therefore I am creating a whole new package.

The version available in the plugin section is the most recent and stable version which I only plan to update the read me and instructions.

I am posting the new package here which is still being tested by others, it is a standalone template. Some instructions are included but not complete. I will complete both versions and upload when time permits.

I hope to get some feedback from those who download it!
