Twitch Wholesale with Twitch Wholesale Attributes

Ok still confused on install. I looked at the files supplied and the changes noted in what I thought was the instructions have been made in those files already. This is looking more like a change log kind of thing rather than instructions.

But there are also sql database updates to make. That is something I assume I need to do manually.

It appears I will just be moving the files over to my store? Then do the SQL updates? Is there a complied list of SQL updates to be made so I do not need to go through that entire text file trying to pick them out (afraid I would miss something)?

SO back to the request of a set of instructions that I need to do?

Ok I was trigger happy on the question. I saw the .txt file and opened it in notepad which made it look almost like code. I then opened it in another editor and I see it is actually instructions! Thanks

Another question though. What are all the pricing levels?
Wholesale I assume is the cost you would sell an item to your wholesale customers like a retailer that will resell your item.
-> Correct

Price Net I assume is the retail price and that which will be shown on the store page to retail customers when they purchase from my store.
-> Correct (This is stock zen product pricing unrelated to Twitch Wholesale)
Price Gross includes taxes? How does it know that when different states have different rates?
-> Correct (This is stock zen product pricing unrelated to Twitch Wholesale)

The prices I do not get are Base and List?
List price be greater than retail? Um why? And is the list price used on my site anywhere? It confuses me.
-> List price or MSRP - The suggested retail price or dealer price
-> If you'd like it turned off on your live site there are a few code changes to make, just ask.

Base price is?? I assume the cost I pay for the good myself? Some lower price I want people to see? or? and where is that used on the site.
-> Yes base price is the price YOU pay for the product. ONLY displays in admin. Setup for reporting and other useful store owner features.

Let me explain:
The .zip contains one .txt file with start to finish install instructions.

• Let's say you just installed Zen Cart v1.54. It's setup and works on your server. This is a 'vanilla' install or 'stock' zen cart 1.54. If you now open the .txt and read and follow each line, you will install Twitch Base Cost, List Price, Wholesale Price and Wholesale Attributes. That includes installing SQL updates through your zen cart admin -> tools -> install SQL patches.

The files included in the admin and includes are the resulting 'updated' files as a result of the above install.

• If you run a word search for 'SQL Update' in my instructions you will find all of the updates needed to run through the zen admin.

If you are starting with a new vanilla ZC 1.54
You could overwrite the admin and includes folders then upload them to your server.

OR
*
For existing sites with modules installed*
You can winmerge (or other file merging/comparison program) all of the files contained in the admin and includes folders.

Shouldn't the command at the start be all caps like this?

I am not a SQL guy but only gather this from looking at your other updates in the same file.

Other note is mostly for those installing this plugin and checking their progress along the way.
If you install all the files and do what ever mods you need to get your stuff back to personalized again but do not install the SQL updates then check your store, you will find all seems to be there except there will be no customers or orders listed.
At first this scared me thinking I lost something along the way. Then I thought it might just be that the admin was now looking for things in the database that were not there. After installing the SQL updates all is good again. Just a note to maybe help someone not get freaked out. :)

I've made the caps lock 'INSERT INTO' change to the instructions for the next release, there is no functional change, just looks.

You are correct, there are times when checking your progress as you are installing the module will result in error messages or unusual behaviour. It's important to stay on task make backups and follow the instructions start to finish.

I found the setting in admin to not show the list price on the product listing pages. What I can not find is a setting to not show the list price on the individual product pages. When I view the product page itself I still see the list price. Can I turn this off with a setting or does it require code? I do not mind the list price being in the system but prefer the customers just don't view it.

Also I was trying the SQL updates for prices someone mentioned a few posts back. I can not get these to work and the SQL update says it failed. I would like to populate all my list and wholesale prices to equal my current retail price. I will go adjust individual products from there. I have a lot of products that will not be offered at wholesale so I would like to make all things equal then go modify the items I will be wholesaling.

Yes, You'll want to install Twitch Restrict, also available in the plugins, and compatible out of the box with Twitch Wholesale + Attributes.

Luke Galyan** - This is the script that you can run in Admin -> Tools -> Install SQL Patches

SQL Update - Add all 'products_price' in products table to new 'products_price_w' (wholesale price) and new 'products_list_price' (list price/MSRP) also in the products table.

This is the SQL code you would use to copy all product prices INTO the wholesale price field

UPDATE products 
SET products_price_w = products_price 
WHERE products_id = products_id;

This is the SQL code you would use to copy all product prices INTO the list price field

UPDATE products 
SET products_list_price = products_price 
WHERE products_id = products_id;

Be sure to backup your database BEFORE you attempt to make SQL updates.

If you do not have any free shipping set down at the product level and only allow free shipping via the order total module, this little tweak is perfect. :)
