Can you post, from the server, the file:
/includes/configure.php
without the database username or password?

I did the reset admin password same thing
i do not get a wrong password entered error
i am running 1.51
php5.5
linux ubuntu server
floorz-n-more.com =storefront
floorz-n-more.com/XXX = admin
By the way, if you haven't heard this yet/before, you should not post your admin directory name unless you wish someone to be able to go to it, and by someone I mean anyone...
Having done so though, there is something amiss (or perhaps modified)... For some reason you already have the wait image showing that normally only appears after selecting Login...
Personally, I'm not sure what has caused this; however, if it were to happen to me, I would be looking to compare my admin directory code with known code looking for something that doesn't look right in comparison, if nothing found, then would look to see if there are additional unknown/unexpected .php files in directories. (Obscuring a file say testproduct.php by renaming to testproduct.old.php will not prevent it from being loaded. Of course ultimately not having it on the site will prevent it from trying to load and possibly conflict, but if to remain it should be renamed testproduct.php.old or something that adds the extension to the end.)
Somewhere in the midst of those reviews I would be looking for zero size files or possibly just reupload files that were recently transferred to the server. It may have been that the last action performed let it show what was happening, but that the change had already occurred before then (sessions, active code still remaining in "memory", etc...)

In your database table:
configuration
search for the configuration_key:
SESSION_WRITE_DIRECTORY
what is the configuration_value set to?

I am asking about the database table:
configuration
Look in phpMyAdmin at your database and in the table:
configuration
search for the configuration_key:
SESSION_WRITE_DIRECTORY
what is the content of the field:
configuration_value

That is the admin/includes/configure.php file. (notice the content at the top in comments.)
The includes/configure.php file had something similar for the main store; however, it appears that you just had a sale, which on the sales side appears that it doesn't prevent a sale that the secure server address has https, but the sale is not required to be secure.
(Welp, this became post 500..)
I have been corrected. Advised that those settings will not cause this issue.
Ajeh is still looking for a database answer, please continue that research...
