IP Blocker for v1.5.x

Lat9, I'll step out and leave this to you boss, I'm sure you worked out my theory was that the error log could have been in the log folder due to it being a 1.3.9 upgrade, it was a long shot admittedly

My duh:blush: It's Tools->Server/Version Info. In the upper left-hand side of the screen, you'll see the PHP Version.

Re: IP Blocker for v1.5.x

lat9:

Also, in the root of your Zen Cart installation is there a file named special_login.php? Have you configured the IP Blocker, or did you just copy the installation files?

picandnix:

I can only find the catch folder in public html, and there is no folder named logs.

lat9:

I put special_login.php file in public html, is this correct? I didn't do anything to the file, I just simply copy files and put them in the correspond locations of my hosting account.

Thank you both.

Re: IP Blocker for v1.5.x

I must say, this one has me stumped. The only remaining suggestion I've got, given that you have no debug-logs in your Zen Cart's /cache folder (since you're running v1.5.0), is to edit /includes/application_top.php and change the line that reads

define('DEBUG_AUTOLOAD', false);

to

define('DEBUG_AUTOLOAD', true);

Refresh the page that's giving you a whitescreen to see how far in the initialization process you're getting before the code crawls off into the sunset. Make sure to change the value back to ***false ***once you've gathered the information.

Re: IP Blocker for v1.5.x

Thank you for the direction, lat9

I did what you say, and here is the screenshot
Attachment 13983

As you can see, the white screen is still there, and I can't find any error log files in catch folder! it is so weird:shocking:

Re: IP Blocker for v1.5.x

Your store's start-up died during the init_special_funcs.php processing, which initializes whos_online, the password functions, banners and specials/featured/salemaker products. I still don't get it.

Can anyone attest to using IP Blocker 1.5.1 on ZC 1.5.0 without problem?

The question was slightly reversed from what the answer appears. The question was can anyone attest to using ipBlocker 1.5.1 on ZC 1.5.0. :) that is if I understood the above response correctly. Not if IpBlocker 1.5.1 worked on Zc 1.5.1.

Re: IP Blocker for v1.5.x

Is there any reason, other than me possibly doing something I should not have done, for IPBlocker special login....

Just upgraded/new install v1.5.3 with IP blocker v2.1.1

http://mydomain.com/special_login.php

to redirect to

**
http://mydomain.com/index.php?main_page=index**

Boy, it didn't take the gremlins long to find the special_login.php file either

IP Blocker enabled
Login Lockout Count: 5
Password changed to 24 random characters

There are no log files in the logs folder.

Re: IP Blocker for v1.5.x

The redirect to the index page occurs if the **IPv4 **address associated with the current session is (a) not in the blocked list or (b) in the passed list or (c) has correctly entered the "special" password.

Thank you.

It is obvious that I didn't understand how things work.

Re: IP Blocker for v1.5.x

Are there known issues getting this to work. Once I started integrating the admin files, i lost access to the admin panel and was unable to login. therefore i had to remove those files. now i can login again. any ideas?

When this file (config.ip_blocker_admin.php) gets copied into the admin/includes/auto_loaders folder, I lose the ability to be able to login to the admin panel.

When this file (whos_online.php) gets copied, Who's online throws an error message and doesn't work.

All other files are copied in the appropriate directories as far as I can tell.

Suggest providing more information. Ie. Zc version, where files were placed, process used to "install" ie. Placed files then did the following and then lost access.. Etc.

Re: IP Blocker for v1.5.x

I am using zc v.1.5.3. I placed the files where the instructions suggest they be placed.

Process used to install? I am simply uploading the files in the required folders following the directory of the ip_blocker folder, folders, and files within the folders.

Ok this file (special_login.php) must be in the admin folder for everything else to work. I just figured that out. I had it in my domain folder. I did that because if you unzip and extract the files, 5 files remain outside of the YOUR_ADMIN folder. It is one of them. I'm guessing all of those files need to go in the admin folder?

Anyway, I think the plugin is working now as I can login to admin and now I see IP Blocker in the Tools menu.

The file special_login.php must be in your store's root directory, not the admin folder, for this plugin to work properly. It is one of **four **(4), not five, files in the plugin's distribution that are not placed in the admin folder.

When "you couldn't login to admin", there were most likely myDEBUG*.log file(s) created in your store's /cache (Zen Cart v1.5.0) or /logs folder (ZC v1.5.1 and later) that identify the source of the issue.

I see. That's interesting. Can you give me a example of the file structure you're referring to?

Also, if it they're not in that folder can it cause my store front to not show up? My host is also reporting a 500 error. Please get back to me as soon as you can.
