Re: Installed USPS Update of Sept. 7, 2014 and now only getting priority mail rates

What happens if you edit the usps.php file and add the code in RED:

if (!function_exists('plugin_version_check_for_updates')) {
  function plugin_version_check_for_updates($fileid = 0, $version_string_to_check = '') {
[B]return FALSE;
[/B]    if ($fileid == 0) return FALSE;

Again, this is not an ideal way to fix this, and I have no idea if this might work for you ...

Re: Installed USPS Update of Sept. 7, 2014 and now only getting priority mail rates

What happens if you replace this code:

if (!function_exists('plugin_version_check_for_updates')) {
  function plugin_version_check_for_updates($fileid = 0, $version_string_to_check = '') {
    if ($fileid == 0) return FALSE;
    $new_version_available = FALSE;
    $lookup_index = 0;
    $url = 'http://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=versioncheck' . '&id='.(int)$fileid;
    $data = json_decode(file_get_contents($url), true);
    // compare versions
    if (strcmp($data[$lookup_index]['latest_plugin_version'], $version_string_to_check) > 0) $new_version_available = TRUE;
    // check whether present ZC version is compatible with the latest available plugin version
    if (!in_array('v'. PROJECT_VERSION_MAJOR . '.' . PROJECT_VERSION_MINOR, $data[$lookup_index]['zcversions'])) $new_version_available = FALSE;
    return ($new_version_available) ? $data[$lookup_index] : FALSE;
  }
}

with:

if (!function_exists('plugin_version_check_for_updates')) {
  function plugin_version_check_for_updates($fileid = 0, $version_string_to_check = '') {
return FALSE;
  }
}

Re: Installed USPS Update of Sept. 7, 2014 and now only getting priority mail rates

Still getting a blank screen.
Do I need to uninstall and reinstall each time I make a change or can i just use the Enable / Disable switch under the module?

No, once you have the current version installed you do not need to uninstall and reinstall ...

If you look in the /cache directory what does the current debug log read when you get the blank page?

Re: Installed USPS Update of Sept. 7, 2014 and now only getting priority mail rates

Here is the Debug Log the was generated when I get the blank shipping screen.
Also when I turned on the module there are two .sql files that where logged in the cache directory, I saved them also.

Re: Installed USPS Update of Sept. 7, 2014 and now only getting priority mail rates

Are you sure there is no way to get your php upgraded to at least v1.5.2?

Usually you would have your hosting provider do this for you ...

Do you own your own server? Or host with someone?

Re: Installed USPS Update of Sept. 7, 2014 and now only getting priority mail rates

You could see if your hosting provider for your server has something that can help you with the upgrade for php, but as php v5.2 is out dated, you might need to be upgraded to php v5.3 which would probably require upgrading your MySQL and I am not sure what else ...

While Zen Cart v1.3.9h can run on php v5.3 there could be some issues that might need updating depending on your add-ons and customizations ...

As to trying to get usps.php working in PHP 5.1.6, MySQL 5.0.45 I do not have a server like that to even begin to try to adapt the code and try to get this working ...

Re: Installed USPS Update of Sept. 7, 2014 and now only getting priority mail rates

PHP 5.2.17
Zen Cart 1.3.8a
Liinux 3.12.24

Just installed USPS RateV4 update, September 7 2014 a couple of days ago. Not seeing any first class mailing options or standard post. If I select priority or express those would be the only two available. If I deselect priority and express, on the cart I get this message:

-2147221202 - The element 'RateV4Request' has incomplete content. List of possible elements expected: 'RateClientType, Package'.

The debug shows up as below:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<RateV4Response><Package ID="0"><Error><Number>-2147219385</Number><Source>DomPostageLibrary;RateV4.ProcessRequest</Source><Description>The requested Mail Service is not available for the specified request attributes.</Description><HelpFile/><HelpContext/></Error></Package></RateV4Response>

I've toggled true and false 'All Packages are Machinable,' and 'First Class Filter,' with no positive results.

Losing orders... Please help.

Re: Installed USPS Update of Sept. 7, 2014 and now only getting priority mail rates

Could you turn on the Debug Log in USPS down at the bottom and try a quote then look in your /cache directory and Zip the log and post it as an attachment on your post?

Also to check your version on the server ...

Go to your Zen Cart Admin and go to Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ...

In the bottom input box enter:
usps.php

Then, select Catalog ... click SEARCH ...

What comes up on the paths to the files and the lines for:
