Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

Tested using our most commonly purchased items/quantities both domestic and international.
Looks good for all combinations thus far.

TNX for being the USPS guru

No, but I can enable some in my sandbox and tinker around later this afternoon. Anyone in particular?

Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

More or less the all need testing.

However, many cannot be used in combination with one another.

USPS is looking into the issue of Return Receipt for Merchandise not being able to be used with the 3 Insurance methods. On the Production server with USPS K6, you can use Return Receipt for Merchandise with any of the Insurance methods. But right now, on the Test Server, if you enable the Insurance with the Return Receipt for Merchandise then no results are returned for Return Receipt for Merchandise.

The first test would be to try them each 1 by 1 to see if results are obtained.

I rewrote the shipping log files to include at the bottom the Original shipping costs plus a break down of the selected Extra Services (Domestic) or the Extra Services (International) for clarity on what the rates are comprised of.

Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

First, quicky checks... gotta go some real work for a few hours. More later.

Using Production Server
Short/Long Description option = NICE. Thank you

onscreen debug: can the first line be wrapped (with edits equivalent to a couple of clicks: not major coding)?

Insurance adds to total Priority mail rate estimate. No effect on FirstClass (don’t think USPS allows insuring 1st class)

Priority Mail insurance does not seem to have any effect (checked using order total ~$77, ~$132 & ~$354) No change in rate.

**E-signature conf **adds to total

Signature conf doesn’t add anything

I expected the e-sig to be some fee but less than hard copy signature.

Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

The Debug Logs for Screen and Email really are not helpful not maintained as well as the Debug Log ... I am considering removing them at some point and just leave the Debug Logs set to Logs as the only choice ...

On the Insurance charge, you should find that over $100.00 does show additional charges for all 3 Insurance Methods for the $132 and $354 values.

Signature Conf has been sent to USPS as it is not returning results. Signature ConfirmationTM Electronic is returning results.

NOTE: On Special Services, there are different results between Retail and Online. Example: Insurance is not offered on many methods for ONLINE that are available for RETAIL.

Thanks for providing the feed back!

Had a DUH moment. :bangin: Works much better in test instead of production.

Returning insurance rates that vary as expected.

Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

Don't feel too dumb ... I test this stuff for hours on end and go blind from time to time ...

Unfortunately, this Beta release only works on the Test Server until USPS flips the switch ...

As all ServiceID values are Changed and or New, they cannot work on the Production Server, until USPS updates the Production Server, rumor has it on May 31, 2015.

Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

Hi Linda, I started testing it late today with the module pointed to the USPS test server. So far nothing major. Some of the rates seem slightly off from what I expected based on the USPS rate info for 5/31. For International First Class it's under by 11 cents (no biggie) but for Priority Mail it's more like a 9.3% increase rather than the 5.5% they said it would increase. I'm still trying to look into it. It was for a flat rate box, so that might be it. It's probably something on my end. Will test more thoroughly tomorrow with different scenarios. - Thanks, Debbie

Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

Hi again, Linda. I figured out what was wrong. It was the International "Flat Rate" Priority Box. Those are going up by 7%, while the other International Priority Mail rates are averaging 5.5%. That was my discrepancy. First Class International and domestic parcels were right on. Now to go test Canada zoned shipping... :0)

Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

I'm experiencing a possible issue with Canada (zones). I'm using the USPS test server in my client's test environment. I have enabled International First Class Parcels, International Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express. For the purpose of testing zones, I turned off the option for International Flat Rate Boxes, since those aren't affected by zone changes anyway- only regular International Priority Mail parcels.

I have tried the postal estimator for every province (but not down to the actual postal code level- is that a factor?). My client is located in Nevada. Regardless of where in Canada I tested, none of the Priority rates are changing, as I expected them to.

Has anyone else out there tested the various "zones" for Canada and had it change prices as I would expect it should? I tested with about a 2-3 lb item.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something. Do the zone changes not take effect on 5/31? Any insights would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Debbie

Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

I tried with and without postal code and seem to get quotes ...

Could you turn on the Debug to Log and test again then Zip the Shipping logs in the /logs directory and post your test logs?

Here you go, Linda. :0)

I just tried it again with postal codes (after I uploaded the debug here) and got the same results. (No difference in cost between provinces)

Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

I am able to get all three shipping methods in my quotes and have tried 3 different provinces.

NOTE: The USPS.COM calculator is not asking to specify Province nor postal codes for quotes to Canada.

I am not sure why you do not appear to have quotes for all three methods.

Have you an URL to this Product that we could perhaps test the shipping quotes ourselves?

I am assuming that you did a Clean update to the USPS May 31, 2015 and did a REMOVE, INSTALL and configure on it.

Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

Hi Linda,
I did do a clean update as far as I know. I did (backup), save the module settings, remove, install and configure. I suppose I could try it again in case something hiccuped in the process but it seemed to go smoothly.

When I tested it I put some items in a cart and just used the pop up estimator calculator on the shopping cart screen, I was not logged in and at that point
in actual checkout mode. I will test that again logged in with a with a Canada address in my customer record & test various provinces that way. I can send you the URL to the test environment in a private message. Thanks, Debbie

Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

Tried it again. I logged in with British Columbia address & postal code & went to checkout. I went back and changed my userid to a Quebec address, went to checkout- same result. Went back and changed to Nova Scotia address- same result in the shipping amount for Priority Mail International.

So it didn't seem to matter if I just used the pop-up esitmator or the actual login/checkout- same result, no change between far flung provinces. I'll wait to hear from you that you are done testing on the URL I sent you in a PM, then will try a clean install again. Thanks, Debbie

Re: USPS May 31, 2015 K7 BETA TEST SERVER ONLY

Just tried several Canadian provinces. All quotes identical.

Problem:
International selections include:
1st class international package service
Priority Intl
Priority Intl Small FR box
Priority Intl Med FR box

Rates are quoted for everything except Small FR box.
Ditto for a quote to the UK

Is small FR boxes being discontinued for international? My quote was for less than $400 value, so that filter should not have been activated.

Interesting that placing USPS onto Test server causes Fedex quotes to be disabled.
