I just restored to a working date and still not working

spawnie69:

My annual is coming up heard good thing about host gator.
I had BH for years.....if I build a site quickly...lol....is it a job to transfer to other host?

One thing to consider is if this issue is/was enough to need a move, or was it a fluke? I get that in the time of need, being able to restore is essential; however, there is the fact that it is suggested here frequently and strongly to have/create a development site so that you can make mistakes in development and not affect normal operation. Additionally because it is an online business to maintain the software to the current/highest standards...

All that said, another FAQ on how to transition to another server if you so end up choosing: https://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?142-i-want-to-move-my-zen-cart-installation-to-another-host-or-a-different-server

HG & BH are owned by the same parent company

I think best for me to stay with bh. I will only ftp my files for backup by a cron job? maybe a good mod our there...I'll check when ready.

Re: I just restored to a working date and still not working

During my upgrading and adding mods I was making backup folders of the site and completely forgot about searching those files and low and behold all my files were there.

"Hosting company's restore features" are just not cool and thank you guys reminding me BACK UP, BACK UP BACK UP.

Re: I just restored to a working date and still not working

After the nightmare, i have not received a single error in logs or cache. lol

This is will sound silly but I could make a copy of files and database for testing . Do I need to change any files to prevent any indexing or just make sure no robots is enough?

Re: I just restored to a working date and still not working

Is there a way I could see the emails that were generated or being sent?
I am archiving emails but sure where they are archived.

Well, emails sent are logged in the database (when set to do so), was discussed briefly back around here, but is a plugin available called Email Archive Manager.
