Chemo's Ultimate URL's

GoodBuyGail:

I used the current one too, although it says beta in the Admin pages(and they both are the same size and date). Any ideas on the error messages?

I think at this point I'm going to wait until the next release comes out, I don't want it to effect any of my other plug-ins that might be a little more important (like payments and accounting ones)

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's

I just tried to install the beta, however when I try to view an item firefox returns this error, other pages seem to work fine, however I'm not sure the links have been altered correctly, the site is http://www.goodbuygail.com/ :

The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's

Well, I just found half my problem, I hadn't renamed the admin folder to my admin folders name. Now that I changed that it still doesn't work however, do I need to reinstall the addon to fix it?(If so is there a differen't way to remove it then to manually delete all the files?)

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's

Hi All

I have installed the seo urls mod and is working well, but having trouble with paypal ipn, I am using zen cart 1.3.7 and the seo url mod 3.0.0.0 beta1 version, do I need a patch to get this working. The problem is that when we get a payment by paypal the order does not come through to our zen cart customers orders/ipn sections all we get is the payment receive from paypal. We have set the ipn and website return on our paypal account, I think the seo url mod is rewriting the checkout return urls, as the process does not go to the zen cart checout success page.Hope this makes sense.:lookaroun

Thanks

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's

How do I go about removing this addon, I deleted all the files as per what I saw in the original downloads folder, however I still see a section in the admin area for this, how do I remove it?

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's

you need to go into the admin -> configuration and uncheck the box for rewriting ssl

goodbuy

you will need to actually go in and remove the lines from the config table

what issues were you having with it,
the site that I sent you to thats using the 3.0 Beta is on the same server as you,

you need to remember that when you login to admin to make the settings as follows

Seo Urls Status On
301 Redirection Status On
Page Base
Default Extension .html
Url Plugins Core: EZ Pages, Core: Product, Core: Default Skips, Core: Product: Reviews: Write, Core: Default: Skip SSL, Core: Advanced Search, Core: Default, Core: Product: Reviews, Core: Advanced Search: Result, Core: Category, Core: Product: Image, Core: Manufacturer, Core: Product: Reviews: Info
Character Plugins Format: Strip Invalid

I just got the same problem when I tried to reinstall it after clearing it out, my server also started to generate 500 errors whenever mod rewrite was in use despite the fact that I had been using mod rewrite previously just fine :/

How were you able to turn them on without the settings being changed?

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's

Well I fixed the modrewrite issue, I think I am deffinately going to hold off on this for a while, I can't seem to attempt an install without breaking something. Perhaps SEO friendly URLs can be added to zen cart itself.

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's

I am having a problem with this mod, latest release v2.105. This is my first time attempting to use this mod, it is not an upgrade. It SEEMs to work fine until I attempt to navigate to a product page, at which time I am routed to a 404 error page. Categories and subcategories work just fine. I am disabling this mod for now, so you won't be able to duplicate the error. I reinstalled it and did the same thing. I tried fiddling with the settings, but nothing i tried helped. The htaccess file was edited as per instructions. Any suggestions?

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's

Hi Humbl

Re: 404 error on navigating to products

I wonder if you have root access to your server. If you do it is worth checking the httpd.conf file to see if AllowOverride is set to 'No'. If it is set to No the .htaccess file is ignored.

In this scenario you can either enable AllowOverride which reduces apache performance(according to the apache manual) or you can add contents of chemo's seo .htaccess to the httpd.conf file and restart apache.

It worked for me. Hope it helps

regards,
Merson

Re: Chemo's Ultimate URL's

humbel use the 3.0 Beta

Goodby make sure that you are not setting any files or folders to 777

using php as cgi will cause an error
