Remove category image?

Copy the file:
/includes/templates/templates_default/tpl_modules_category_icon_display.php

To your templates and overrides directory:
/includes/templates/ea_templates/tpl_modules_category_icon_display.php

Change this line approximately line 14:

Now only Categories that have catetgories_image that is not empty will display their image on the product _info page ...

But the overwrite did not work ...I had to change the includes/templates/templates_default/tpl_modules_category_icon_display.php

When I saved to /includes/templates/ea_templates/tpl_modules_category_icon_display.php
it did not work......

Make sure that I spelled your templates and overrides directory name correctly ... :smile:

I did a save as direct to that directory....Did not work....

Could be because I gave you the wrong path:

/includes/templates/ea_templates/templates/tpl_modules_category_icon_display.php

YUP....I moved to /includes/templates/ea_templates/templates/tpl_modules_category_icon_display.php and works great...I reset the origional to its origional state and the site is running on the overite....

into the stylesheet worked out great for me.

Problem Solved It was because of Purpleshades 1.3, I didn't have the Zen Cart banner for the bottom uploaded. Everything is now great! :yes:

Newbie to Zen Cart, but thought I would post my experience with category images. Got a template from template monster and when you clicked on any category you got a nice ugly picture along with a description in german (I think). I just wanted it so that when someone clicked on a category and it listed all the items in that category it didn' t show a pic for the category you clicked on. It would still show pics for the actual items, just not a pic for the category.

Here's what I did:

Logon to Zen Cart, then go do Catalog->Categories/Products. This will list all of your categories. Look over to the far right and click on the edit button (green, circle e).

Category Description: I deleted all the default text.

Or, select an existing image file from server, filename: none (just type the word none)

Delete Image? Select Yes. It won't actually delete the image from the server, just removes it from category.

Click Save

Now go to your site and hold Shift button down while you click on the refresh button in your browser. Sometimes, it will show a picture box with a red X. If this happens, go back and edit that category again and select Delete Image? Yes and then click Save. Don't know why it has to be done twice sometimes? Hope this helps someone.
