In the course of installing some modules, I noted that IH2 installs its jscript_imagehover.js file in the TEMPLATE_DEFAULT/jscript folder. There is also a TEMPLATE_CUSTOM folder provided with IH2 but it does NOT contain the .js file. If you are using a custom template and there are any OTHER .js files installed in the jscript folder in the YOUR_TEMPLATE folder, zencart will IGNORE the jscript folder in the TEMPLATE_DEFAULT folder and IH2 hover function will NOT work. This was noted by ckosloff.
I would suggest that the jscript_imagehover.js file should be installed in the jscript folder in the working template folder if any template other than TEMPLATE_DEFAULT is being used. Then if there is an update to Zencart and the TEMPLATE_DEFAULT folder is changed, the IH2 module will remain intact.

I have reinstalled IH 2 and I am still plagued with random Warning messages. Anyone have any clue as to how I can correct this? I really like how the way images look and would hate to not be able to use this contribution. :frusty:

Dr. Byte has confirmed that if there ANY .js scripts installed in the custom YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript folder, none of the scripts in the TEMPLATE_DEFAULT folder will be used. So the jscript_imagehover.js file should be installed in the working (custom) jscript folder rather than OR IN ADDITION TO the TEMPLATE_DEFAULT folder in order for the hover image effect to work.

I like the way that the image hover works, but I find that it is present on ALL my product images, even those with a "no picture available" picture.
Is there some way to limit the effect to only selected products?

I have the opposite problem!!
I can only get this to work with 1 category on the whats new sidebox.. It dont work for anything else.
Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong?
the site is here Army Surplus Clothing It on another domain, until i get everything working.
I'd appreciate if someone took a look and had some advice.
I recently switched to Zen after 2 years with a competitor and I have to say I love it, keep up the great work!

You have to play with the image sizes. There's some weird bug or glitch in this program, and I have no idea what it would take to stop the bug, but try changing your product listing height to 80.

ok thank you!
I will mess around with it some more..

Grimmy,
Looks like you got the problem ALMOST solved. Just checked your website and saw that the thumbnails were 80x80 and the hover worked on MOST of them. The exception I noted was on the "ladies clothing" page where all three images had the "+" sign in the lower left corner but only the top one did the hover. Which folder are you using for your larger images, images/medium or images/large? I found that hover only works on images in the medium folder.
BTW, you might want to change your page title block. It still says "ZenCart: the art of e-commerce".

There's no need to use medium or large image folders at all with IH2... in fact, those folders don't even exist on my server. IH2 only requires ONE image uploaded, that one being the largest size you want shown for the larger image popup. IH2 does the rest. I checked his site, and all three Ladies Clothing images hovered for me....

Thanks, that did the trick. I had small images set wrong. 80x100 works.

Please excuse me if this has already been posted before. After half an hour of searching around I couldn't find anything.
So I test installed IH2 on the test server on my local machine and it worked perfectly. I am now trying to implement it onto the live server, but the installation process is not working.
I copied the four folders in the installation package into my zencart directory on the server, but the IH2 is not showing up under tools in my admin panel. I am pretty sure that I am not doing anything wrong, because I did the same thing on my local machine and it worked.
The server should meet the requirements of IH2 in terms of gd version.
Please advice.
edit: the name of the admin folder has been changed as per instructed in the security tutorial. that shouldn't affect anything if my paths in configure.php is set right.. right?
New Zenner
Problem solved. I just uploaded the default "admin" folder onto the server instead of copying its content into my renamed admin folder.
I guess they don't call me a New Zenner for nothing.

Do you have a link to your site?
I had the same issue recently. It turned out that read/write permissions were not set correctly on the bmz_images folder.

Hi,
So what did you do to correct this? I'm pretty new to zen and I dont like messing with anything until Im 100% sure.
I seem to have the main problems.
Thanks.

This is what the IH2 documentation says:
Make sure that the "bmz_cache" folder's permissions match those of your
images folder (e.g 0777, 0775 or 0755).
Do you have a link to this site? Also, what server are you running?

So you changed your folder permissions and that fixed it?
Zen Follower
Alex,
My images folder, all folders inside and "bmz_cache" are set to 777. I have also had a problem that results in the following error littered randomnly through out my site:
Warning: imagedestroy(): supplied argument is not a valid Image resource in /home/content/p/i/p/pipsmker/html/includes/classes/bmz_image_handler.class.php on line 531
After I had changed all the permissions to 777 that error showed up alot less but it seems to be back again.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Josh
