Recover Cart [Support Thread]

Glad you got it working and thanks for posting a link to the answer. I didn't think it sounded module related and more sounded along the lines of something that was caused due to other customization issues.

Thanks!

Re: Recover Cart [Support Thread]

Just wanted to say thanks! I have had great success with this mod.

I have been giving a $5.00 off coupon for abandoned carts. (set the coupon for one time use per customer thou - so they don't abandon their future carts on purpose to take advantage of the coupon code)

I send out an email daily in the morning from the previous days carts. Weekends I wait until around 5pm to send out the email from abandoned carts from Friday, Sat, and first part of Sun. This one seems to be the most beneficial to me.

I have even received emails back thanking me for the reminder as they forgot which site they were on when the placed the items into their carts. *So, I wonder how many people this happens too being that I have received a few emails. (most likely a lot more)

Anyways, great mod! Keep up the good work. Looks like I will have to buy you a cup of coffee this time.

Re: Recover Cart [Support Thread]

Can anyone share the emails they send to customers? I have a general idea of sending them a coupon code and asking for feedback on why they didn't complete their order, but I'd love to see some emails that are working.

And are you just sending the plain text emails through the mod interface, or manually collecting emails to send through your email client as a fancy html email?

Not sure if this is the default message or if my wife updated it a little. More than welcome to use it or cut/paste parts you like or dislike.

Re: Recover Cart [Support Thread]

Does anyone know if this works with Zen Cart v1.3.9h?

I tried to install it and when I did the "Install SQL Patch" using the "Browse" method it returned all kinds of errors! Should I have copied and pasted it instead? When I opened up the Menu selections I also got all kinds of warnings. So fortunately I had backed up my database and I restored it and went back and removed the individual files uploaded.

I would like to use this module as it looks like there are no core over writes but the database patch doesn't seem to work.

Also it would be nice if the creator of this mod would write an uninstall.sql file. Thanks in advance for any advice

Re: Recover Cart [Support Thread]

It works for me in 1.39h. :yes:

Personally I never browse for the sql. I always copy and past directly in to the sql page of the database

The "browse" and install SQL portion of the admin has been known to not work the best on all files. It is more proper to copy and paste the information from the SQL Patch into the space provided in the admin and run that way.

If you get errors, please post what they say so we can assist.

Thanks!

Just to make sure I am understanding you, you mean it is not showing attributes in the EMAIL details right? (Or are you talking somewhere else.)

Re: Recover Cart [Support Thread]

the attributes (in my case personalisations) do not show up in the email sent to customer or in the recover_cart_sales.php page which displays abandoned carts from the admin

am i misunderstanding what this is supposed to do or do i have a problem somewhere?

all other functions are fine, emails are sent etc. its just the attributes list that doesnt show up anywhere

Re: Recover Cart [Support Thread]

Hi
Great mod:smile:
Just wondering if there is an easy way to change the customer greeting to first name only?
(I saw that the question was asked many pages ago, but I didn't see an answer...apologies if i missed it)

Many thanks!

Open up the following file:

/admin/recover_cart_sales.php

Find the section that looks like this (about line 246):

		if (RCS_EMAIL_FRIENDLY == 'true'){
			$email .= EMAIL_TEXT_SALUTATION . $basket->fields['fname'] . ' ' . $basket->fields['lname'] . ",";
		} else {
			$email .= STORE_NAME . "\n" . EMAIL_SEPARATOR . "\n";
		}

Remove the section that references the last name and you're all set.

When your finished it should look like this:

		if (RCS_EMAIL_FRIENDLY == 'true'){
			$email .= EMAIL_TEXT_SALUTATION . $basket->fields['fname'] .",";
		} else {
			$email .= STORE_NAME . "\n" . EMAIL_SEPARATOR . "\n";
		}

Re: Recover Cart [Support Thread]

Hello people!

This seems like a really nice mod but I'm having some troubles installing the SQL script.

I'm using a database prefix for zen cart (zen_) and I've tried to alter the script to work with that, but I simply get too many errors and I don't dare to play with this too much as I'm afraid to destroy tings :S.

Can someone please advice? An example on where to insert the databse prefix would be really helpful!

Many thanks in advance. Regards Peter

You could install the sql patch in phpMyAdmin. Just make sure you back up your DB before doing this.

Re: Recover Cart [Support Thread]

Hello frank18, thank you for your reply!

I did a backup and tried my best to install the sql script with phpmyadmin.

Everything seems fine but my admin/configuration/recover cart sales-menu is empty - there are no settings there.

What part of the sql-file could I have missed?

Truly greatful for advice

Regards Peter
