What is the name of the SQL file you are attempting to patch with and what version of the GoogleFroogle mod?

It appears the SQL patch you may be running is a version updater and not the full SQL patch.

Did you have this mod (or a previous version) installed previously and are trying to upgrade? Or is this suppose to be a fresh install?

Try running googlefroogle.sql (this is the patch for new installs as described in the readme). Then no need to run the other sql patches

I installed the Froogle module from the download page (ZenCart version v1.3.7, Mod version 1.33a). The name of the sql file I attempted to run is googlefroogle.sql and I didn't run other sql files. I was not trying to upgrade Froogle. It was meant to be a fresh install. For your information, my previous Froogle was working well when I was using ZenCart v1.2.6d. I upgraded to ZenCart v1.3.7 recently but didn't delete the old files of Froogle as I don't know which files.

Well it can't be a fresh install if it was previously installed and you did not completely uninstall it. That could well be the source of your issues.

Which version of GoogleFroogle did you have originally installed? Do you have the old zip file for that version? If you open the zip archive you will see which files. Then you can delete all those files from the server and then reinstall (upload) files from the new mod. Then run googlefroogle.sql from 1.33a version

Or you can just try running uninstall.sql (from the 1.33s mod package)
then run googlefroogle.sql again.

My fineprint: As always backup your database first. And I recommend not installing or upgrading and mods on a live production server. Best to test on a test installation first.

I just found out that there aren't any Froogle files that are from previous version. However, I could see the previous Froogle in the admin. You're confusing us.

First you say:

So without having a list of files that were originally installed, how do you know "there aren't any Froogle files that are from previous version" still installed.

What exactly do you mean? Are you saying you see Froogle files in the "admin" directory? Or are you saying when you are logged in as admin, and viewing the admin interface, you are seeing GoogleFroogle menus under both the Configuration and the Tools menus? And how do you know it is the previous version?

Did you follow-up on previous recommend to run uninstall.sql then run googlefroogle.sql ??

Backup your DB, then do this and report back.

The mod still works. This mod generates the feed into GoogleBase. That is the back-end if you will. Then the GoogleBase data is what feeds the Froogle front-end. That is what is now referred to as Google Product Search. Just the term Froogle is no longer.

But keep in mind that if GoogleBase changes their mandatory feed requirements, and the feed created by this mod is not adapted, then this mod could become deprecated. But the good thing is that it is not difficult to adapt the mod to add or remove product fields. Just takes some time.

The Google Froogle Feeder installs fine and uploads properly. However, I am having the following issue with Google accepting the feed after they manually review it:

Issues:

1. Wrong prices (I change my prices every week but have the script running a daily cron job)

2. Irrelevant product type (All of my products are labelled as "OTHER". Do I need to set product types in Zen Cart other than "GENERAL")

3. Unsupported "label" attribute (Google said this will not cause the feed to stop working but should be removed anyways.)

Please advise as to how I can solve the first two issues and possibly the third to avoid any future problems.

Google have started rejecting my feed due to now unsupported field "label" and also they are not allowing the product type to be called "other". I've had a look at the feed and the easiest way to fix is to rename the label field and call it product_type. Have you already done this or should I get hacking code?

This member seems to have an idea of how to overcome the product types issue. If someone can implement this, please upload it right away :smile: .

The best solution would be to be able to set the field in the admin as either a category is set up, or by product.

The hack is easy, I just forgot to post sorry.

Open up the file googlefroogle.php in thr ROOT folder of your website.

Search for the following and un-comment them as the are no longer supported by Google Products as it's now called and not needed either.

Find

$output["label"] = "product_type";
$output["product_type"] = "product_type";

Replace with

// $output["label"] = "product_type";
// $output["product_type"] = "product_type";

They are around lines 110-111 I think.

lol Yes, sorry I used the code from where I was testing, but google want you to use their wordings for the product type which is not possibly or feasible unless you re-organise your own database category names etc.. I'm not at my home machine at the moment so was pasting code from my test file

Works fine, my feed got accepted quickly afterwards.

That may indicate you used "dealbyet_" as your table prefix. Look in phpmyadmin to see the names of your tables. They should all have the same prefix.

Hmmm... I wasn't aware of that. I understood product_type had to be in the feed. However when your feed is reviewed and if you have specified 'other' without any good reason (e.g. if your products did not fit in a specific category) then you might get rejected.

You can easily edit the DB to support different product types.

The last version of the mod supports:
'book'
'music'
'video'
'other'

Add your own if you like.

Today, I tested all methods to upload Bulk file to google base, it isn't working.
I always get error message. "Bulk upload failure. 0 errors. None of these items are active.", how to resolve the issue. thanks for your help!!!!

Please excuse my interuption but I need a little push in the right direction with this tool.

I am running Zen 1.3.7 and unzipped this utility into the root of my store.

I then opened up the SQL file, copied the script, pasted it into admin/tools/install sql patches and ran the script successfully.

I see the Google Froogle Configuration but do not see Google Froogle Feeder under admin/tools.

Please tell me what step I missed.
