Admin Page Won't Display.

Turn off the Left Column in the Layout Settings ... does it load the page?

Turn on the Left Column then turn off the Right Column ... does it load the page?

Re: Admin Page Won't Display.

There's one thing I have to add here:

the permissions of the /admin directory is 755. do i have to change it? if yes, to what permission should i change it?

It doesn't require to be set on CHMOD 755 but, for your safety, it should rather be set to CHMOD 666. :wink2:

Made no difference.

I've been alternating between Firefox and Internet Explorer. I only just noticed when using firefox the error page it gives me is "The page isn't redirecting properly". Hope this can help

Re: Admin Page Won't Display.

In that case, what does your web error logs states about this problem ? If you post the errors here, it might be much easier to determine the source of the problem. :wink2:

Note: You will find these results under your cPanel access account.

Re: Admin Page Won't Display.

Was this a clean install of v1.3.0.1 or did you upgrade from another version?

Re: Admin Page Won't Display.

Have you done a lot to the /includes/templates/classic directory of files?

If not, rename to /includes/templates/black

Now reload all of the files from Zen Cart v1.3.0.1 from a clean checkout from our site ...

Something is really off on your site and I cannot tell if you changed a corefile or have a bad install etc.

Reloading all of the files may help correct this ... for both the catalog and admin from a clean download ...

Re: Admin Page Won't Display.

Just finished. Removed ALL files from my server before I uploaded the files again. I also dropped all the tables from my database beforehand just to be sure.

Catelogue works but I still cant load the admin page. :schmoll:

Hopefully this line has been edited for the quote above. Otherwise, it has to be localhost ' or ' a remote SQL server name.

In the mean time, please post your URL pointing to your techsupp.php file. If you do not know where to find this file, simply go to your local zc_install folder and upload it to your Zen Cart's root folder on your server.

Re: Admin Page Won't Display.

Oracle,
Again, you're incorrect.

define('DB_SERVER', 'mysql');This is perfectly correct for people on yahoo hosting.

Not hosting on Yahoo.

As for this line (define('DB_SERVER', 'mysql');) its acutally pointing to my database located at mysql.trimcomputers.com (i changed it when i posted here. This isn't my problem)

Re: Admin Page Won't Display.

I've been playing around and found

define('DEBUG_AUTOLOAD', false); in application_top.php

I changed this to

define('DEBUG_AUTOLOAD', true);

And now spits out a whole bunch of stuff when I goto http://www.newcastleprosound.com.au/store/admin/login.php

There are a few warnings in there that look like they may be causing the problem.

Please let me know if im on the right track

I've tried to follow your advice and change it to 666, but then a 403 error appeared.

Re: Admin Page Won't Display.

i've looked over the New Installation Guide for Zen Cart.
And i over looked this part and wasn't able to do this.

As for other folders and files, they can be CHMOD 644, or 444, depending on your webserver configuration.

Is this really necessary to do this part? Can this be one of the reason why the admin page is not working properly?

Most of the time, yes. If you get a 403 error when switching to CHMOD 666, then simply switch both configuration files to CHMOD 644 and edit them manually (if needed to be edited).

Re: Admin Page Won't Display.

Recall: These permissions settings should be changed only for files - not folders. For your folders, if CHMOD 755 is not possible, (due to 403 error message), switch it to CHMOD 711. That setting only happened to me once when I was helping a customer once on a different web server (non-Zen Cart related).

Re: Admin Page Won't Display.

well, i tried changin the permission to 711. the same error occured.

Warning: main(/includes/filenames.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /homepages/13/d161596823/htdocs/costarica/store/admin/includes/application_top.php on line 100

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/includes/filenames.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /homepages/13/d161596823/htdocs/costarica/store/admin/includes/application_top.php on line 100

i guess its not with the permission. so i changed it back to 755.
