Quick Updates plugin [support]

I am not sure what the problem is here, but my zencart is not displaying any prices other than $0.00. This is after an upgrade from 1.3.5 to 1.3.7. I am using your quickupdate mod version October 23 2006.

In my product price manager I get the following:
Preview Only ... Current Price Status ... Preview Only, but everytime I make an update there or in your Quickupdates, I see no change from my $0.00.

Please can you help urgently, as for some reason, now my original zencart is not working either.

... If you choose that option, you get the problems outlined in my last post, and the master_categories_id is set to zero in the products table (before the fix in your last post was applied). Also, there is no entry for the 'new product' in the products_description table, hence the product name not being saved. I guess it's not very useful creating a new (blank) product in QU in any case - you might as well do it in categories/products, since you have to fill all the fields in anyway. Perhaps that 'copy' drop-down could be set to 'Please Select ...' or something similar (ie. non-active) - unless there is another use for it?

I just came across this problem last week by accident. I forgot to pick a product in the quick copy drop down menu and "id:1 - (default QC Product)" was selected. The result was that every field was blank. So I added in the the product title to each one and made my way to catalog>categories/products. I had some text on the bottom of the screen telling me there were products that were in the "top" category (or something to that effect) and that this would mess up the prices in my entire catalog. So I thought, "Okay, then I'll just delete them", only that was going to be a problem because these new products were not even showing up due to the fact that I have sub-categories/folders in there. After freaking out for a minute, I went back into Quick Updates and changed the master_categories_id to an actual subfolder, went back into catalog>categories/products and they were in the correct folder. From there I deleted all 10 of them and started over again because I didn't want things to be weird with those particular products. I used quick copy again, only this time selected a product from the drop down instead of leaving it at "id:1 - (default QC Product)" and all was back to normal. So I learned to avoid "id:1 - (default QC Product)" like the plague! I never mentioned it because I figured this was its default function.

I am absolutely stumped, as all the prices are displaying in QU, but it just does not want to change them from 0.00.

And I would not have a clue how I can get that to change. Any suggestions?

Goshawk, I'm sorry, I was replying to Pixxi's post in regards to her problem. I'm not sure about your problem. Hopefully Paul might be able to shed some light on it for you. Since you upgraded to 1.3.7, maybe there is a file that was deleted or overridden. Did you try re-installing the mod at all?

Yes I did reinstall the whole lot again.

Hope I can get my old shop to work again, burning the midnight oil now, and doing an install of ZC1.3.7 over my 1.3.5, hopefully it will work without any glitz and I can get back online.

Good luck Goshawk - I get stressed out when there's an upgrade!

It has been ok up to now, but this one is bringing me headaches. I finished my upgrade last night, and most everything seems to be working, but than I noticed my shop is the cheapest in town..LOL.

Fingers crossed the upgrade will work in my original shop.

Paul, I wanted to mention that in your mod description in the downloads section, you say "Added column for wholesale price (beta code, not supporting multiple wholesales prices?)" and I thought you'd like to know that on my fresh install of 1.3.6, Quick Updates is handling multiple wholesale prices with no problems at all. :smile:

@Goshawk: quick_updates only changes prices you order it to change, if your shop is working OK. If your prices suddenly (or after upgrading your cart) changed to 0 it is not related to quick_updates. So I guess it's better to search the board for related topics, or start a new one yourself about this issue (my first idea would be to check your currency settings).

@April and Pixxie:

Now I think I understand what happens. I assumed a product with id 1 would exist, or that users would change the default quick copy products_id value to another (existing) product. But of course it's not that obvious to others as I assumed it would be, I realize now :-) In my case the default products_id=1 product is my "template product". Its possible to change the default to another products_id in the quick updates configure file (if I remember well, I don't have the files at hand right now).

Maybe I should change it so it reads "Please Select" (as suggested), if the default products_id does not belong to a (valid) product or if it is set to 0. For example.....

@April: Thanks for letting me know the multiple wholesale prices code works fine after all :smile:

An update (2.01) for quick updates 2.0 is attached to this post. This should fix the issues that were just mentioned in this thread (mainly concerning the products copier).

Only load the sql file on new installations or when the product thumbnails wont display, even when enabled in the quick updates admin settings.

Other 2.0 users should only copy the two included .php files, overwriting the existing ones.

I was able to update my excisting store, rather than a fresh install, Something must have gone wrong with the file transfers when I tried an upgrade in a fresh copy.

Question;
if i update my prices with 30% through the value or rate box, the price gets updated but my specials price doesn't.

i have a price and a specials price which is 40% lower. if i update the price with 30%, i would like the specials price to change with the same percentage as well.

at the moment it doesn't or am i overlooking something?

You are not overlooking anything. Quick Updates does not update special prices atm. It's on my wishlist too, but that list only gets longer and longer it seems.....

Please help. I read the thread and still am no wiser. I installed the 2.01 patch, fixed the products_price_w problem by adding the field etc. etc.

I still cannot find the "margin increase from purchase price" portion of this mod.

When I enter a value in the "(+/-) Value or rate" it increases the existing price with this much and ignores the value added to "Wholesale"

Please let me know what I need to do to have a percentage markup from purchase price to work using this mod.
