Quick Updates plugin [support]

Yes. I guess that was the point of the original exercise as it should allow admin to update prices at a sweep.

Thanks for response.

Re: Quick Updates plugin [support]

When I tested just now, adding a percentage gives some response (but wrong figures)

Adding just a number gives no change and a -ve % doesn't work either.

Re: Quick Updates plugin [support]

Mine changes all the amounts + or -, total amount or percentage, when you click the preview button, but does not do it permanently when you click on update after that. All the figures are correct, it just doesn't update them in the db. I never noticed that before. I always entered an amount manually and copied and pasted it into each box. I never knew Quick Updates was supposed to be even quicker!

(@craftzombie: sorry I have not mailed back about the password code yet, but I haven't forgotten it.)

I have found several bugs within the "Value or rate :" markup code. One I introduced myself (that is the reason why the marked up prices won't update currently), one is related to a small piece of code still not being compatible with register globals off. And there are some other issues as well. Most (or all?) of it is easy to solve and I will upload an new version of the quick_updates.php file soon.

Paul is the best! :o)I whish my wife would say that more often. No, no, no I am only joking now! :D

I think I fixed all issues with the markup code and I attached an update for the 27th november version. It does not include a readme and only the main script and an updated css file are included (added a small css fix which makes the products description popup look better in IE7, IE6 support for that part will probably never be added, or at least not by me). Of course Firefox is still the best choice ;-)

To fix the formentioned issues with the markup only admin/quick_updates.php needs to be overwritten with the included version.

Re: Quick Updates plugin [support]

Oops, I forgot that I also made another change. It's no major issue, but now I included a new language file as well.
(I will remove the 8th december version)

Re: Quick Updates plugin [support]

(

paulm:

I am willing to convert the existing products_purchase_price and products_margin, so that these are defined i.s.o. hardcoded.Sorry, but I overlooked that this would require changes to the javascript as well, and that would be to much to do "just for the fun of it". So I won't do this after all.
)

New (full) version, quick_updates-v2.0, available. Quote from version-history.txt:

  1. Renamed version to 2.0
  2. Added links to products_price_manager.php for each product
  3. Fixed several issues with "Value or rate" markup feature.
  4. Removed the need to send $_POST['update_price'][] = 'yes' on every price update

Changed files (since november-27th version):
admin\quick_updates.php
admin\includes\stylesheet_quick_updates.css
admin\includes\languages\english\quick_updates.php
The "Value or rate" markup feature fixes are the the most important changes since the november-27th version.

(will upload this version "officially" later, if no bugs are reported here)

Re: Quick Updates plugin [support]

Silly question maybe, but how different is v2 from that posted on December 9th?

Re: Quick Updates plugin [support]

The name is different :P (the date versioning was introduced temporary because the version numbering got really messed some time ago)

And other than that: I am not even sure myself, I think I made some minor code changes since the 9th. Now that I think of it (and if I am not mistaken) the tax included price would not be marked up during markup preview, and now this should be fixed.

Re: Quick Updates plugin [support]

Smashing, thanks

I am trying to make some of the admin pages validate but cannot find the pages were the menu html or the image end tags are generated. I know I am being stupid but the mistakes there are so fundamental but easy to fix.

Re: Quick Updates plugin [support]

Related to quick_updates you mean? In that case all HTML is generated in admin/quick_updates.php (almost, the popups use separate files as you probably noticed)

Or the Zen Cart admin in general? In that case you need to start or join another topic (note: one of the reasons I did not feel like fixing all HTML errors in quick_updates is because the admin is full of it anyway).

{
and: I agree (most of) the HTML errors should be fixed, but since the next Zen version might have the same errors again I am not even trying
}
