NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

Hi,

It gives me great pleasure to release the first Production version of our NEW Protx VSP Form payment module for Zen Cart 1.2.x and 1.3.x!

Please Note: None of our clients actually use Protx Form so all donations are greatly welcomed, we have developed this solely for the community in our own time! (Details on how to donate are on the module's website).

Full details about and downloads of the contribution are available at its website:

Information and Downloads - dev.ceon.net/web/zen-cart/protx_form

I recommend that you take a look at the above site but for those who want more information first (lazy you :) ), here is the feature list:

Features

This Payment Module has been written to be as comprehensive as possible (despite the limited nature of VSP Form!). The current feature list follows.

Support for every Card Type handled by Protx. Cards supported:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • Switch/UK Maestro
  • Delta
  • Solo
  • American Express
  • Visa Electron - UKE
  • Diners Club International
  • JCB

Full support of all essential parts of Protx VSP Direct's 2.22 Protocol. This includes support for the three different Transaction Types: Pre-authorization, Deferred and Immediate Charge. It also includes support for the various AVS (Address Verification) Options. Configuration of these features is accomplished using simple radio buttons in the Module's Admin Configuration.

Icons for each Credit/Debit Card accepted. If you enable the option in the admin, icons are displayed for each credit/debit card which you indicate as being accepted (see picture at right). Maybe not an essential feature, but it does look more professional for your shop! (Not all icons are displayed in this screenshot but all are included in the contribution!)

Support for a Single Merchant Account Currency or Multiple Merchant Account Currencies. Each currency that you want to accept payment in requires you to have a separate merchant account for that currency. This payment module supports the sending of payment information to Protx in any number of currencies, according to the settings you specify in the Module's Admin Configuration.

Storage and Display of Completed Transaction Information. The Transaction Information for any order processed using this module is available directly for viewing on the Order Details page for that order in the Zen Cart Admin.

**Support for Protx's VSP Simulator testing services. ** This module allows you to test its operation and configuration in conjunction with Protx's extremely handy VSP Simulator service so you don't have to worry about putting through lots of bogus details. Once you are satisfied with your configuration of the module you can switch the checkout to being live at the click of a radio button!

**Debug Support. ** Sometimes there can be problems sending and receiving information to/from Protx. The debug mode allows you to see what information is going to be sent to Protx before the user is redirected to the VSP Form payment page and also what response was received afterwards. Most people should never need this though and it is subsequently disabled by default.

Enjoy!

Please read the documentation before posting any questions in this thread so that we can hopefully keep the number of posts here down to a minimum!

Download NOW! -- dev.ceon.net/web/zen-cart/protx_form

If you like this contribution and get a lot of use out of it, please consider making a donation!

For a more professional shop though, you really should consider using Protx VSP Direct: dev.ceon.net/web/zen-cart/protx_direct

All the best...

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

Slight mod needed in includes/languages/english/modules/payment/protx_form.php

Change:

define('MODULE_PAYMENT_PROTX_FORM_TEXT_CATALOG_TITLE

to:

define('MODULE_PAYMENT_PROTX_FORM_TEXT_TITLE

This is very timely - had a few orders go through protx but not register in the cart. Even had protx look at the code on the page I was using but couldn't see anything wrong!

Thanks very much - testing it now on 1.2.x and 1.3.x.

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

Just to say this is working perfectly - so far - and love the new order lines addition in the protx emails - so at least that's a fail safe if for some reason the order doesn't appear in the cart. We've had 3 timeout errors today before loading this so tomorrow will tell. Thanks for all the hard work.

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

Hello

Every time I try to extract the zip file I get an error message.

"End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a Zip file, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part Zip file."

I will donate as soon as I have a copy and this working.

Cheers

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

Hi,

Apologies about that!

Our server configuration was causing everything to get zipped before being sent to the browser... including the zip archive you were attempting to download!

We've updated the configuration to have a bit more sense and not attempt to double zip already-zipped files! :lamo:

All the best...

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

I have got this installed and configured and i was trying to complete a test transaction before going live.

Everything seems to function ok until i get to the confirm order page. Once i click to confirm and be taken to the Protx test server it halts with the following error message:

Error Type:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server (0x80040E14)
Incorrect syntax near '&'.
/vps2form/includes.asp, line 568

Can anybody help to solve this please?

Glad to hear! That's a bizarre error message from Protx though... why do so few companies have good error checking and feedback? All errors should be accounted for and easy to understand... a syntax error shouldn't be returned if an account name isn't found!

Anyway... rant over... glad you like the module!

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

My last post was a little hasty because i still have a slight problem.

The transaction completes successfully but Zencart logs me out with the 'whoops, your session has expired message' and no details of the order appear in Admin and no order confirmation emails are sent.

However, i do receive the transaction emails from Protx to say that the payment has been processed. Help!

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

Im wondering now if this problem could be connected with the problems ive had with Paypal over the past day or so. My host had been changing some firewall settings which seemed to have stopped Paypal communicating with my server.

I was getting the same problem as this, payment notification from paypal but no order details were being sent to admin. This has since been fixed but it may be connected.

Have you tried putting through another transaction?

It sounds like you were simply refreshing the Protx payment screen (rather than going through the checkout for each test).

If the Zen Cart session expires while you have been redirected to the protx site there isn't anything that can be done... This isn't likely in normal circumstances though as Protx's payment page would expire its session much quicker than the Zen Cart session would expire... I don't think normal customers would ever have this problem... they wouldn't refresh the Protx payment page (and thereby update its session time stamp but not the Zen Cart time stamp).

It has to be said at this point that we believe the Protx form method to be quite an amateurish way to take payments... it is highly recommended by us that everyone uses Protx Direct (as we say on our Protx form payment module's site!) - it doesn't cost any more (apart from a SSL certificate which you can get for as little as $25 these days), is especially simple to set up on ZC 1.3.5 and above and keeps the customer on your site while payment is taken... just like the big boys (amazon, dabs etc.). Worth investing the small extra bit of money and initial configuration time in our opinion!

We created the Protx Form payment module only because so many people were having problems with the only existing Protx Form module at the time. We wouldn't use it ourselves because it just isn't as professional.

Saying that though, it'd be nice if some nice people would donate for our work, so if anyone's reading this and uses the module, please consider supporting us so that we can help anyone with problems out! :p

One last thing Sudakoma... I'd prefer if you could e-mail me directly so that I can help you with your problems in private. No point cluttering up this thread with a specific server problem you are having as the information may not be useful to anyone else (if it is I'd update the documentation/thread of course). You can find the support address for the module on its website!

All the best...

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

You were right conor. I have just tried again from the beginning. I logged out, logged back in again and went through the checkout and payment process. It worked perfectly! Thanks for all your help, much appreciated. I will be making a donation.

By all means go ahead and clean up this thread, no need for all this clutter now .

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

Hi, I'm having a problem with the new module. I choose Protx as the payment processor in step 2 and go on to step 3. When I click "confirm order" in step 3 it just knocks me back to step 2 without directing me to the Protx site.

This is a different error than the one that I've seen posted before, where after finishing the order on the Protx site the user is directed back to step 2. I never get to the Protx site at all.

I'm seeing this error on a cart that's been upgraded to 1.3.6. On the client's old 1.2 site, the module seems to be working correctly. Any ideas?

Hmm. I've seen that problem before... it sounds like there's a problem with your set up... most likely your settings are wrong and protx is returning you to the checkout payment page (step 2) so that an error can be displayed. I think you're not seeing any error because you have made a mistake in setting up the template for the checkout payment page.

An easy way to confirm any of this is to switch the Protx Form module into debug mode... it will tell you what is about to be sent to Protx and, afterwards, what Protx returned.

All the best...

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

I think you're not seeing any error because you have made a mistake in setting up the template for the checkout payment page.

That sounds right, but I disabled my custom templates and my CSS file and I still didn't see an error pop up on the checkout payment page. The URL came up this way:
http://www.url.co.uk/index.php?main_page=checkout_payment&error_message=

Is there supposed to be an error message at the end, and it's coming up blank?

[An easy way to confirm any of this is to switch the Protx Form module into debug mode... it will tell you what is about to be sent to Protx and, afterwards, what Protx returned.

I'm afraid I don't see debug mode in the module's admin screen. I see:

Test Card Numbers:
(listed)

VSP Admin
VSP Test Admin
VSP Simulator Admin

Enable Protx Form Module
True

Merchant ID
xxx

Password
xxx

Sort order of display.
0

Payment Zone
--none--

Set Order Status
Pending [1]

I searched the forum and the protx_form site but I'm not sure why I don't see the debug option. Am I looking in the right place in the admin? If I'm missing some bit from one of the files, can you tell from what I pasted above which file I need to check?

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

Hi Lemuria.

It doesn't look at all like you are using our Protx Form module but an old version. (Either that or its installation is completely messed up - more than 60% of the Admin options aren't there!)

Please remove the Protx Form payment module you have installed, visit our site, and download and install the new Protx Form written by us.

The installation instructions for it are on the website: dev.ceon.net/web/zen-cart/protx_form

That will be you sorted then! :)

All the best...

Please consider donating if you find the module useful, only 2 people have bothered so far!

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

Heya... busy trying to set this payment module up, but I'm getting the following error when trying to purchase:

"An error has occurred whilst attempting the requested operation. The error is:
If you supply an Address field, you must also supply the Post Code for that address." -- https://ukvpstest.protx.com/vps2form/submit.asp

The Post Code is definitly included in the address we're 'sending' to PROTX... I've also tried entering a postcode without spaces incase that was the problem... Any ideas?

Re: NEW! Protx VSP Form v1.0.0

Just to let you know, this is on a downloadable product...

When I try a physical product it seems to work fine... EXCEPT now I'm getting:
"Email Error: Could not execute: /usr/sbin/sendmail" when I'm returning to the Zen Cart from PROTX's test payment page...

I really need to get the downloadable product working too though... Any ideas?
